Single Proxy Server For Two Different VLAN And ISP?
Jan 17, 2013
I'm looking to implement a single proxy server for two different VLANs. Both VLAN have outgoing traffic configured through different ISP i.e. traffic for users on VLAN1 is routed through ISP1 and traffic for users on VLAN2 is routed through ISP2. Inter-VLAN communication is enabled. The proxy server should route internet traffic for users in VLAN1 through ISP1 and for users in VLAN2 traffic should be routed through ISP2.

my internet connection has dynamic IP. So when I download some file from file sharing site, and if my internet connection breaks, my download can't resume from where it had stopped since my IP adress is changed. But if I stop the download manually (without breaking internet connection), as the IP address remains same, I can resume the download from that point. I mean can I use a proxy server so that everytime the download resumes, it reports a constant (static) IP to the website?

At the moment we have all our users going through a Proxy Server, Microsoft ISA but I want to know whether I could scrap this and utilise the ASA.
Would it be possible to create a Network Object with an IP range (Domain Users) and then have a list assigned to this of any Websites not permitted?

How would I set up my own anonymous proxy server with my own ip address without having to go on a proxy list site? I don't care how complicated or time consuming it may be, I'm a very fast learner and I do things extremely quickly.

I got a different scenario from one of my client. My client have two different branch offices and have 50Mbps point to point connectivity between them. All users in both braches using same series of IP pool ( 192.168.224.0/24) in both branches. Both branches he had only Cisco 2960S series switches only. And in both branches he is using IP cameras. He will monitor the assets by accessing IP cameras through the browser. His requirement is, he wants to prioritize the Video traffic( monitoring through the browser) over the normal data traffic.Note: He had a single VLAN only.

My computer (Win 7) is behind a proxy server at work. They have disabled the ping service. They told me it is disabled for security reasons, and everytime I try to ping a host, the connection times out. However I normally use ping as a good diagnostic to check if I have an internet connection or not. We experience frequent network problems, and I'd like to be able to at least narrow down the problem each time. Are there any other diagnostic tools/utilities I can use to test internet access? When I lose my internet connection, I'd like to be able to test if it is because my computer has lost its connecton to the proxy server, or if the proxy server has lost connection to the outside world.

My ISP provides me internet connection through password protecting Access Point bearing IP address 192.168.20.1 built with IP filtering which allows only a particular IP 192.168.20.88. I am not able to access internet on more than one computers simultaneously because router allows only single IP and I am not sure what are the WAN IP's uses Access Point provided by ISP eg. IP, Gateway and DNS. My ISP provides me static IP address for home computer as mentioned below :
IP : 192.168.20.88
Gateway : 192.19.20.1
DNS: 192.168.20.1
Alt DNS : 192.168.20.1
My public IP address is 180.87.210.26.
Is there any option to add a router to bride or configure router as proxy server so that i can access internet more than one PC's simultaneously.

After cleaning the infection, none of my browser will work.Firefox display this message: "The Proxy Server is Refusing Connection".IE displays an error as well.I can't even use Steam's (game client) browser to see what games they have available but I am able to sign on.I am sure my internet is working because I am able to log on to my Instant Messaging Program and chat with freinds and use a VoIP software to talk with friends without issue. The problem is happening on my "regular" windows account. My administrative account seems to be problem free as I am able to browse the net like I had before the infection.

I would like to know if it is possible to assign a 3rd IP address to my end user vlan. Basically the 45xx acts as my end user gateway and has been confirgured as below
interface VlanXX
description Main Vlan
ip address 2.X.X.X 255.255.255.0 secondary
ip address 1.X.X.X 255.255.252.0
[Code].....
Here, due to IP address exhaustion in my end-user network, i want to add one more subnet X.X.X.X/22 to my network and assign one IP more from this range to the above vlan to act as the gateway IP.

I have around 60 , 1142 N APs . As of now i have only management VLAN ( for IP ) & one user vlan 350 configured on the access point . All the users connect to VLAN 350 and they get IP as required. However in our new set up there are couple of requirements have come up were in SSID will be the same however we have created many VLANs for different kind of user group and all these VLANs should be mapped to this single SSID and pick the IPs from their respective VLANs .
We have done configuration on the RADIUS server side were in we have mapped the users in their respective VLANs and they are getting authenticated via AD . Now how do i map my these 4-5 VLANs in a single SSID in Access Point.

I have six Cisco 300 Series switches in Layer 2 mode. They are all connected using ports in Trunk mode. These Trunks are tagged members of all VLANS.
I have one 300 series in layer 3 mode with IP address assigned to each VLAN.I would like to use one Internet gateway for multiple VLANS. This gateway has numerous IP ports that forward to internal ip addresses on various machines.
All i9nternal clients use their respective VLAN IP as their default gateway. The Layer 3 switch is connected to one of the Layer 2's using a Trunk that is a tagged member of all of the VLANS.
I understand how traffic routes from a client to its respective VLAN gateway. Where I am confused is how it routes from there to the Internet gateway? Internet gateway is 192.168.1.1.VLAN IP's are 192.168.2.1, 192.168.3.1, etc...
Should the Internet Gateway be patched into the Layer 3 switch or one of the Layer 2's using a separate "Internet" VLAN?

I am using a proxy server with 2 NICs for sharing internet connection to my 100 desktop users in my office. NIC 1 is connected to my dsl modem and NIC 2 is connected to a main switch and further to more. But now i want to setup a wifi network for laptop users. I have enabled ICS on NIC 1 and NIC 2 has acquired it ip automatically (192.168.0.1) so the gateway for my desktop users is (192.168.0.1). But i want to use a new gateway. For this i have installed NIC 3 but it is not acquiring the ip automatically. My Proxy server configuration is: MS Server 2003 ENT edition.

In my office environment, my machine is configured with an IP address, Subnet Mask and a Default Gateway. The Default Gateway does not allow internet connectivity but is configured to provide us with connectivity to some server based tool.
Now in order to provide us with the internet access, a proxy server is configured via the LAN settings in the IE. The problem here is the Proxy is restricted for some sites that I need like certain technical blogs and all, which it filters out in the blogs category and does not load.
I do have another Gateway server address that I can use in Local Area Connection IPv4 Properties as Default Gateway address which removes this restriction. I thought that this should be configurable to the LAN Settings as a proxy as well. But when I do so, I lose the connection to the internet.
I am not sure if all Gateways can act as proxy servers. Or is there anything that I am doing wrong. I am using the default port 8080 in LAN Settings.I can ask this from the technician but I am not sure if he would be able to answer that as he is just a first level guy. I thought of figuring it out myself.

I would like my IP Adress through the router to be a IP Address based in the states, thus the proxy server would achieve that. I can do this on my PC, but I would like my router to do it, then all the devices on the network to do that.

I am trying to make the multicast working between few hosts inside a single vlan. Host are running mysql cluster and Multicast is used to send master/slave status information to the IP 228.10.10.10 on port 45566.The vlan is defined in FWSM and the host are connected via the core-switch(6513). (hosts-->core-sws--->fwsm)I have tried searching the documentation, but couldn't find specific info to enable multicast between hosts residing in same vlan. FWSM is running code 3.1(4). since the hosts are residing in the same vlan, I am thinking of applying the <multicast-routing> just for that SVI in FWSM.

So I have a proxy server in my home that all the computers use to access the internet (XP Pro). I edited the host file on the proxy to redirect traffic for various reasons (ad blocking, etc.) But I have noticed that it doesn't seem to affect the computers that use the proxy. For example one entry in the host file could be 127.0.0.1 abc123.com so that abc123.com would loopback to the localhost. For some reason this isn't working. Is there anyway to get this to work without changing the host file on each individual computer?

All the internet access from my company needs to be pass through a proxy server from the Global server which needs a LDAP user name/password in order to access the internet resource. Recently, I purchase 2 set of Windows 8 professional 64B OEM machine, the IE is ok as I embed the proxy IP/LDAP user name/password etc.. I can also install some Windows APP from the store, however, all live feed seems blocked..Tried quite a lot work around but no cure. Could I setup another internal proxy server (linux based) which store my LDAP user name/password in order to access the external resource and all Windows8 machine shall point the proxy to this Linux proxy server so it can use my LDAP user name/password.

We have a SRP527W with 1.1.24 firmware.
We have DHCP disabled and have assigned a IP address of 10.65.73.254 on the Interface Setup/Lan/VLAN Settings/data_lan.
When I configure a client to use 10.65.73.254 as its DNS server it cannot resolve hostnames eg [URL]. Obviously I have 10.65.73.254 as the default gateway on the client and it can ping the external host via IP Address so it only appears to be the modems function as a DNS Server that is not working.
From the diagnostics ping I can put in [URL] and it resolved and works, so the modem is correctly getting it's DNS Settings from the ISP

We are currently using two Nexus 5548UP's as our Datacenter Network Core. I have a pretty simple objective: I would like to enable Jumbo Frames on a single VLAN only(VLAN 65). This VLAN is used strictly for backups. I do not want to enable Jumbo Frames on the other VLANs(VLANs 1-10). Im not sure what the best way to do this is.....or if it is even possible but I am hoping to get some configuration examples.
