Charter tech came today to solve my problem of my new modem not working, he fixed the Modem but i think he did something to the lan proxy settings after.I'm trying to set up my Belkin wireless G router but i do not have the orginal CD. What should my address be under the "Use a Proxy server for your LAN" checkbox and what is the port and should i check off the bypass proxy server for local address box?

They told me it is disabled for security reasons, and everytime I try to ping a host, the connection times out.However I normally use ping as a good diagnostic to check if I have an internet connection or not. We experience frequent network problems, and I'd like to be able to at least narrow down the problem each time. Are there any other diagnostic tools/utilities I can use to test internet access? When I lose my internet connection, I'd like to be able to test if it is because my computer has lost its connecton to the proxy server, or if the proxy server has lost connection to the outside world.

Despite having this command in place, nothing changes. I tried multiple combinations adding the xml and hostname rewrite or changing the interface but nothing, the page is the same like if this rule was not applied.
I just switched schools and I work for HP's marketing team part time which entitles me to get on some websites blocked by our school's network (sonicwall block).I then tried a proxy on Firefox and it was blocked as the sonicwall detected that I was using a proxy. Why did this happen and is there a way to bypass?This is mainly on wired connection as the Ethernet isn't god awfully slow like wireless is.

Is there a way to enable my home wifi network and the VPN so that the work computer can access the internet locally while I'm working? just one browser is all I need.... This is becuase the IE at office has proxy configured correctly.I cannot access the same machine with RDP connection, though. I can access it using other computer outsite the office, so it is not an issue that rdp is not enabled or so. Problem is with proxy at office.I need a way to connect to rdp by using the same proxy.Problem is that that IE at office uses automated proxy script (.pac).I have installed remote utilities server on the machine I want to access and the remote utilities viewer on the computer at office. I set the proxy similary to what is set in IE but I cannot connect anyway. I can connect this way from third computer outside the office though, so the configuration is fine, only proxy is the problem.I managed to get the proxy details like host name and port but I'm not sure those are the right one.The webwasher or proxy is mcafee web gateway 6.8.4.

Currently using WCCP with squid for content filtering. One of our sites we connect to needs to see the connection coming from our public IP address, not the proxy server IP. I've created a acl in squid for direct lookup, but the website gets angry with the X-Forwarder-Header squid attaches to each packet. Is there a way in a cisco ASA 5505 to bypass wccp for a specific public ip address or url?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have several 2602 AP's that I want to operate in FlexConnect mode. The WLC is at a central HQ and the Ap's are remote. There are central radius servers at the HQ for the wlans. At the remote lcoation, there is a local radius server we want to use for the primary radius server for these AP's. This radius server has been added to the WLC. I have setup a FlexConnect Group, designated the the primary and secondary servers, and then added the AP's to the group. It does not look like radius requests are being sent to the local controller.
For this to work, do we have to check the box under the wlan for FlexConnect Local Auth? Currently, we only have FlexConnect local switching selected.
We have Cisco ASA 5505 with ASDM 5.2 We have one Proxy server in our Local Lab and pointed to Hosted service(Simple Signal)issue is, When our proxy server send register to hosted server, ASA change private IP and post with outside IP and src port as 1063 every time.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to setup a local DNS server to manage small office local-only domain names for our servers. i have the DNS working properly (resolving local machines and using the ISP dns if it can't). so i put the DNS server ip into the "Static DNS 1" field of the router settings. the other 2 static dns fields are empty.the problem is that the router is still using the ISP dns server as the primary and my local dns server as the secondary. i verify this in two places. first, if i go to the "status" tab, DNS 1 shows the ISP server while DNS 2 shows my local DNS server. secondly, if i connect to the wireless device with a linux-based machine, the /etc/resolv.conf file shows the nameserver ips in the same incorrect order.

Customers DNS server does this due to a recent change, their server now has a virtual address, but replies are sent from its physcial address. This is temporary. Their PIX is happy with this.
Replace the PIX with the ASA, DNS fails, the only reason I can see is due to the way their internal DNS operates.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Belkin N150 wireless router. I have enabled MAC Address Filtering as an added level of security. However; whenever I access the router, and if I check that page; the check mark for the option to enable the filter is always blank.
I have checked the option, clicked Apply Changes, and logged out of the router. i went back in this morning, to check the security logs. (Looking like someone is trying to jump on my network) I didn't see anything there, but when I checked MAC Address Filtering; there was no check mark indicating that the filter was turned on.
my internet connection has dynamic IP. So when I download some file from file sharing site, and if my internet connection breaks, my download can't resume from where it had stopped since my IP adress is changed.But if I stop the download manually (without breaking internet connection), as the IP address remains same, I can resume the download from that point. I mean can I use a proxy server so that everytime the download resumes, it reports a constant (static) IP to the website?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi would like to use the ACS 5.3 as TACACS Proxy. Basically it works. But when checking the logs on the destination TACACS Server (ACS 4.2) i see that all requests (Source-NAs) came from the IP of the TACACS-Proxy. Not from the original source IP.
This is useless for my scenario, because on the destination TACACS Server the policies are built on the NetworkDevices Groups and AAA Clients = source IPs.
I need to check and possibly change which Network address is allowed down a tunnel and check our Phase 2 IPSEC proposal. How would I do this on a VPN3000?

I am not able to access internet on more than one computers simultaneously because router allows only single IP and I am not sure what are the WAN IP's uses Access Point provided by ISP eg. IP, Gateway and DNS. My ISP provides me static IP address for home computer as mentioned below :

Gateway : 192.19.20.1
