Nov 5, 2012Was the op's problem sorted? I'm interested as I have exactly the same problem with my Panasonic VT50. I haven't changed anything but it connected fine earlier this morning and now stops at "check acquired IP address". I'm then told that the TV cannot acquire IP address. I'm not a very technical person so I don't really understand all this network business. All I know is that sometimes the TV will connect without a problem, as it did all last week, and then for no apparent reason, it just won't.

Customers DNS server does this due to a recent change, their server now has a virtual address, but replies are sent from its physcial address. This is temporary. Their PIX is happy with this.
Replace the PIX with the ASA, DNS fails, the only reason I can see is due to the way their internal DNS operates.

Dec 30, 2011Charter tech came today to solve my problem of my new modem not working, he fixed the Modem but i think he did something to the lan proxy settings after.I'm trying to set up my Belkin wireless G router but i do not have the orginal CD. What should my address be under the "Use a Proxy server for your LAN" checkbox and what is the port and should i check off the bypass proxy server for local address box?

Dec 25, 2012I have a Belkin N150 wireless router. I have enabled MAC Address Filtering as an added level of security. However; whenever I access the router, and if I check that page; the check mark for the option to enable the filter is always blank.
I have checked the option, clicked Apply Changes, and logged out of the router. i went back in this morning, to check the security logs. (Looking like someone is trying to jump on my network) I didn't see anything there, but when I checked MAC Address Filtering; there was no check mark indicating that the filter was turned on.

Best Site To Check Connected Speed
Feb 3, 2013What is the best site or way to check connect speed? I should have a 6mbps connection but it sure doesn't work like 6mbps. When I go to the speed test web sites I get speeds all over the place, some times it's around a mbps or less and sometimes it's 6 to 8 mbps. BUT, when I watch a video often it stops as it plays faster than it downloads, something you would not expect with 6mbps. Download are general around 250kbps to the upper 300's, again not what one would expect with a 6mbps connection. I understand it's not only my connection speed that determines the download speed but the other end as well but when I was getting good speeds (a couple a years ago with Comcast before all the jacked up prices and BS they all play with speed and bandwidth) I would often see download in the mbps range, NEVER see that anymore.

They told me it is disabled for security reasons, and everytime I try to ping a host, the connection times out.However I normally use ping as a good diagnostic to check if I have an internet connection or not. We experience frequent network problems, and I'd like to be able to at least narrow down the problem each time. Are there any other diagnostic tools/utilities I can use to test internet access? Jan 16, 2013I get frequent internet disconnects. Sometimes when I notice I can't get into the web gui; other time I can get in but I have to re-authenticate, and I see the wan port is re-initializing. So of course, the "WAN uptime" starts again at zero. I can then look at the "statistics" page and see that the LAN packets are really low (like low 4 digits). SO, my guess is the router is randomly resetting. But how can I check the router uptime?? I searched and I see plenty of folks reporting their uptimes, but I can't find it anywhere in the GUI. I want to be able to prove that it's the router and not the cable modem or WAN connection....I was getting the logs emailed, but really can't decipher anything. I have "system activity", "attacks", and "notices" enabled. It's DIR-655, hardware B1, firmware 2.10NA.I already emailed DLINK support asking for a warranty replacement, as this one is only 10 months old. If they don't come through, it's time to jump ship to a new vendor. Will be my second dead one in under a year.

Mar 5, 2013I have a Cisco ASA5520 that we are going to use to allow users to connect to our network via the Anyconnect client, I have authentication set up to validate against AD via LDAP, but was wondering if there were any way to set up the profile to check the PC before they log in....we do not want users using their home PCs to attach to our corporate network, only PCs that were issued to them by the company. Nothing is jumping out at me in the config, we are running some fairly old sofware on the boxes (ASA - v8.2(2), Anyconnect - v2.5.3046) I plan on upgrading the Anyconnect to v3.1 but will probably need to keep running the 8.2(2) version on the ASA due to support issues.
