Will University Check Which Websites I Visited

I was connected to my university's network through VPN from my personal computer. All websites are routed through their servers. Many people connect and use the network.I forgot to turn the VPN off and went to an xxx website. Actually I watched a video on megavideo. Then I realized the VPN was on and turned it off.My question is, can an automated system determine what I did and will any IT person go ahead and click the link to see the video?

The building's IT specialist has provided a program I think he made himself which changes a computer's settings to allow the user to log on and enter their student username and password in order to connect to the internet.Usually, when I get back from his place, I:plug in my Ethernet cable,open network and sharing center open the properties for my wired connection go to authentication and untick 'enable IEEE 802.1x authentication'and this works fine. However, I came back from his house two days ago and this did not work. I've tried system restore multiple times, rebooting, unplugging and plugging in the cable, and even going back to his house, setting myself up there and coming back to test if I can get back to normal again.

I have recently purchased a PS3 and can sign into my PSN account but cannot access PSN when i try to play games on multiplayer.My university doesn't allow routers so I was wondering if:
1)Having a router would let my ps3 work properly online?
2)How to set up a router without it being detected.

So I can't seem to access ANY site related to my university (www.concordia.ca) anymore from my home network. I've tried to visit URL or any of its' sister sites from my desktop, my laptop, my iTouch, even my ps3, I've also tried cross-browsing to no avail. I've checked the router page, apparently my Hardware Version is B1 and my Firmware Version is 2.00NA. Access Control is unchecked and there are no sites at all listed under Website Filter. I've also tried resetting using the reset-hole and also by pulling off the power chord. Also did a factory-reset from the router page, the problem persists despite all of that.Every other site works just fine, it's just my university site that refuses to load up. I've browsed the last 7-8 pages of this forum, this doesn't seem to be a common problem based on that little sample. So what gives exactly? I used to be able to visit those sites just fine prior to few days ago.

I want to setup a DC++ HUB for sharing data within the university local network. We have addresses of the form 172.31.*.*. These addressed are accessible within the university bu non routable outside on the internet. My plan is to setup a local HUB for DC++ for sharing data within the university intranet. So even if internet is unavailable data can be exchanged through LAN. This HUB must not be accessable outsied the university network.how should I do this all..implementing network sharing other than DC++. My basic idea is that everybody can share their data and the data is searchable from one common interface( Web interface is better option, if possible). And data featching should prefferably be from many hosts, using multiple connections so that speed can be improved..

I have to make a live chat (web based using ASP.NET) , like a customer service chat when the client click to start chat , the server will repsond with checking any operators that is available to chat with the client.the operator must be login to the site as active operator .how can i make the server to check the available operator ? is there a syntax or codes that can be applied in this condition?

my PC and laptop are both suddenly running sluggish since yesterday morning. pages take forever to load; slow to start videos, etc. i called ATT this morning...the auto test said i needed to talk to someone because there was a problem noted. but the live rep ran tests and said the speeds were within the norm for my service. i asked her why the auto test reported an issue, and she checked, only to come back to say "it's a problem with the modem." oh, and a new one from them is $80-100+

What is the best site or way to check connect speed? I should have a 6mbps connection but it sure doesn't work like 6mbps. When I go to the speed test web sites I get speeds all over the place, some times it's around a mbps or less and sometimes it's 6 to 8 mbps. BUT, when I watch a video often it stops as it plays faster than it downloads, something you would not expect with 6mbps. Download are general around 250kbps to the upper 300's, again not what one would expect with a 6mbps connection. I understand it's not only my connection speed that determines the download speed but the other end as well but when I was getting good speeds (a couple a years ago with Comcast before all the jacked up prices and BS they all play with speed and bandwidth) I would often see download in the mbps range, NEVER see that anymore.

My computer (Win 7) is behind a proxy server at work. They have disabled the ping service. They told me it is disabled for security reasons, and everytime I try to ping a host, the connection times out.However I normally use ping as a good diagnostic to check if I have an internet connection or not. We experience frequent network problems, and I'd like to be able to at least narrow down the problem each time. Are there any other diagnostic tools/utilities I can use to test internet access? When I lose my internet connection, I'd like to be able to test if it is because my computer has lost its connecton to the proxy server, or if the proxy server has lost connection to the outside world.

I get frequent internet disconnects. Sometimes when I notice I can't get into the web gui; other time I can get in but I have to re-authenticate, and I see the wan port is re-initializing. So of course, the "WAN uptime" starts again at zero. I can then look at the "statistics" page and see that the LAN packets are really low (like low 4 digits). SO, my guess is the router is randomly resetting. But how can I check the router uptime?? I searched and I see plenty of folks reporting their uptimes, but I can't find it anywhere in the GUI. I want to be able to prove that it's the router and not the cable modem or WAN connection....I was getting the logs emailed, but really can't decipher anything. I have "system activity", "attacks", and "notices" enabled. It's DIR-655, hardware B1, firmware 2.10NA.I already emailed DLINK support asking for a warranty replacement, as this one is only 10 months old. If they don't come through, it's time to jump ship to a new vendor. Will be my second dead one in under a year.
