Many people connect and use the network.I forgot to turn the VPN off and went to an xxx website. Actually I watched a video on megavideo. Then I realized the VPN was on and turned it off.My question is, can an automated system determine what I did and will any IT person go ahead and click the link to see the video?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBeen more than 2 years since I purchsed this router from US and has been working flawlessly till now. Lately I have been facing issues with few websites not opening when my laptop is connected to the router using a lan cable. Sites like speedtest.net (I get the download speed but when it needs to upload it is stuck there forever), [URL] is another which just does not open.
I tried opening these sites using e4200 wifi and everything works perfectly. I even updated the firmware to the latest 1.0.05 build 7 Aug 23, 2012 but still the same issue.
My router set to Automatic configuration - DHCP...
Also when I directly connect the internet cable to my laptop lan, everything opens without any issues.
I recently bought the E4200 v2. When I first installed, I ran the firmware update and then performed a hard reset (push reset button for 20 secs). I then began to enter all the PPPoE information and network settings into the new router (verified these settings with the existing WRT54GL router I'm current using and they all matched). I then disconnected the old router, and powered up the E4200. I was able to access the new router (192.168.0.1), I could see all previously shared files/computers with the new router, but I could not access most websites - usually I got a timeout error, or they eventually loaded in 10x the usual speed. This was typical of both laptops - one wired, and one wireless. My wireless handheld device could connect to the wireless network, and ran a speeedtest.net test, and upload/download speeds were normal - but I could not access the internet from the device. When I switched back to the old router, everything worked perfectly again. I have tried some suggestions on changing MTU values, but that did not seem to make any difference.
As a work-around, I have ended up keeping the WRT54GL as the main router and using the E4200 in bridged mode for wireless only (not what I ideally would like)..
I've been on DSL with British Telcom Infnity (FTTC) since March and had no problems with the service. My router, however, an Apple Time Capsule, was not so reliable and needed a reboot every few days,So I just purchased the E4200 V2The Setup completes OK and PPPoE logs into my ISP fine. But then I hit the problem. Most of the websites I use simply won't load . In Safari on my OS X Lion, Macbook, I get an error like this "Request Timeout. The server timed out while waiting for the browser's request. Reference #2.525fdd58.1336048435.0" In IE on my Windows XP laptop, the error is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"But some websites still load fine. So [url]..., loads instantly. Most other sites I try, including [url]... - won't load at all. (Plusnet is my ISP)If I connect to my work VPN, I can browse as normal
View 9 Replies View RelatedAll my previous routers have allowed me to monitor my connection speeds however I can't find this in this router. I found the client table under "status" but I have not been able to find the connection speeds anywhere. I like to make sure that my devices are running at close to 300Mbps and not 54Mbps in case I have a connection setup wrong. I have searched in the forums without much luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got an e4200 refurbed router, and it's been working great except for one problem I'm having. I have Comcast cable with Ubee D3.0 modem. For some reason, there will be a random 4-8 second delay when going to certain websites. While this normally wouldn't be a problem, it occurs quite frequently with Google.com and we definitely can't have that. I've updated to latest firmware. Ran ping test to find optimal MTU, went with 1500. To be sure it isn't a DNS issue, tried accessing Google by IP addy and getting the same delay. The delay seems to occasionally occur with Facebook as well, at one point I couldn't even get to Facebook and had to release/renew ipconfig. I have Mac address cloned if that makes a difference.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a E4200 V1 router. A website that I have been accessing for years all the sudden no longer works. If I use my PC and PPTP VPN to another location, I can browse the website fine. If I remove the router and plug directly into my Comcast internet connection, I can browse the website fine. If I enable logging on the router, it shows the connection on port 80 just like every other outgoing connection. Security log shows nothing. I was on firmware version 1.0.03, upgraded to 1.0.05. Tried resetting to factory defaults before I updated firmware, and after I updated the firmware. The website all the sudden just stopped working 2 weeks ago. I also tried putting my PC as the DMZ IP address and nothing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a WRT54G wireless router connected to Mac. All of a sudden, I became unable to access certain websites on my iMac, such as Facebook and Apple homepages. But i can access Yahoo website. I tried resetting my linksys setup but it doesnt solve the problem. When i access my iphone via wifi at home, i am also unable to go into app store, facebook app, and emails with images won't load. I also cannot link my iphone to itunes on my iMac. What happens on my computer when I surf the internet is that the page just loads halfway and stop "responding". But my imac airport says that my internet connection is fine, however my access has become very "restricted".

View 1 Replies View RelatedShort version: when running devices through my e2000 into my CM100 modem, internet access is unstable, packets are lost, and certain websites simply will not load. I am using my apartment complex's **bleep** internet (and I have no choice in the matter) which registered the MAC address of the CM 100. When I run through the CM100 directly, everything works fine. What can I do to fix this?
Long version: I have an e2000 router connected to my PC, Xbox, and wireless devices. The router is then connected to a CM100 cable modem. The modem is connected to my apartment complex's internet access. They required the MAC address of the cable modem. The routed showed an apartment complex domain when I went hunting around, but there is no login to it, and I was never told anything else about the connection.
When I run the router through the modem, the internet access is lousy. Certain websites will never load, the connection drops, and packets are lost. When I run directly through the modem, the connection works perfectly.
I note that the CM100 assigns IP addresses if it cannot get any from the ISP, and there appears to be no way to turn it off. I have tried disabling DHCP on the router, but it did not work. I have changed the router's IP address, but that did not work. I have even tried turnign the router into a simple wireless access point, but that did not work. The modem is at 192.168.100.1, while the router is on 192.168.1.1. Should I change my router's location to 192.168.100.x?
I'd like to block all websites except a handful. how can i do this?
linksys wrt54g
There's a WRT54G2 v1.5 router in the apartment I just moved in to (belongs to my roommate) which crapped out the other day. My computer and iPod touch both recognize the router's signal and connect to it, but I can't access any Web sites after that (both work fine on other wireless networks). I can, however, access the Web via the cable modem, but when I plug an Ethernet cable into one of the ports on the Linksys router, I have the same problem as when I'm connecting wirelessly. So far, I've tried resetting the router (with the reset button on the back), updating the firmware, changing settings (beacon interval, frag & RTS thresholds....saw that suggested on other forums) & leaving the network unsecured (it's currently WPA2/TKIP & AES, what it was originally). Is it safe to say this router's done for, or is there anything else I can do to resurrect it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting 404 messages but the browser is connecting to the site's server (you can see the little icon for each site in the tabs). The two sites I have identified that I cannot access are UIowa libraries and Music from Outer Space.
-I have emptied all cache, cookies, etc.
-I have reset the router to factory defaults and updated the firmware
-I can load both sites from other networks, however two different computers using my router fail to load these two sites.Until a couple days ago I was able to access both of these sites regularly, and I haven't installed anything or changed any settings on my computer. The fact that two different computers cannot load these sites seems to indicate that it is a router problem.
I've got the E3000 set up and working. What I'd like to do now is monitor all the devices' connectivity to it. The bandwidth it consumes and stuff. Is there a way to do that on my router?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having a strange intermitent problem with my E1500 wireless router. When we first bought and installed it everything was working well with no known problems. After several months no one using the router was able to access certain websites as well as a game server that we play on. No one had made any changes to the router settings and I assumed at first that it was an ISP problem. After talking with our ISP tech support they finally suggested plugging my PC directly into the modem rather then the router. I did and found that the websites and servers that previously wouldn't connect while using the router were now reachable. Any changes to the router settings since installation.I decided that just in case someone unauthorized had made changes to simply revert the router to factory settings and reinstall the software. After doing this I found that I could again reach the websites and servers that I previously could not. So time went on with no problems until a few months later when the same websites and servers were again unreachable by anyone on our router. I again reset the router to factory settings and changed passwords as a precaution, but this time the websites and servers were unreachable even though I had just reset the router.
