Ive just bought a new toshiba notebook c850 andf i want to connect to the internet using a wireless usb modem. Ive used 2 seperate modems and none of them work it keeps saying to reinstall or update the device. I dont have wifi and these modems work on all of my other computers why not this one?
View 1 RepliesI checked what she needed, updated her drivers for Ethernet and Wireless, and the Device Manager is stating that they are both working fine. (no ! or ? on them)When I plug in an ethernet cable it works fine. It gets connection pretty well through my BT Infinity modem.However the wireless will not pick up any connections at all. I attempted troubleshooting, and all it says, "Your network adapter is experiencing problems" etc.I thought that I may need to turn on Wireless Association on the modem, but that didn't work. My dads laptop is also a Windows 7 Laptop and that works fine and will bring up all connections in the area, including mine.
So I googled around, and I found that I may need to turn on a wireless switch. After looking around the laptop, I noticed two things. 1) There is no wireless switch, and 2) There is an orange light above the WIFI symbol.So I googled around a bit more, and found it might be turned off in the FN+f8 Flash card feature. At first I couldn't actually bring this up, so I reinstalled the flash card, and it began to work. It claims the wireless connection is "On".I am not sure what to do next. I have checked the services to make sure WLAN Autoconfig is on Automatic, and Started, and it is. I also tried disabling, then enabling both ethernet, and wireless connections, which did nothing.
My laptop is running on windows 7 ultimate, model is Toshiba satellite c850-F10M. and am lacking network drivers especially LAN/WAN.

I've searched forums, and followed several threads to no avail.The wireless switch is on, but there is no LED. Fn+F8 does nothing. I have restarted and reset the BIOS to defaults.I have disabled Internet protocol 6.All of these have made no difference. I can access the internet via a fixed connection, but cannot get the wireless adapter to respond.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Notebook PC DV6815nr (knows as DV6700) which i bought 2 years ago. Initially the laptop came pre-installed with Vista. However i upgraded to Windows 7 about a year ago. Yesterday when i turned on my laptop, i noticed that my laptop could not connect to the internet. Even i could not see any available wireless connections. I turn the wireless switch on or off...does not make a difference.
So i decided to check the driver files for the internet which can be found in Device Manager...and noticed that there was a driver ( nVidia nforce networking controller ) which had an exclamation mark. First i am not sure if that driver is for wired or wireless connection??. Secondly, i went on HP Website to see if i can download drivers from their website..and they did but only for PC's with Vista on them..no Windows 7...i tried so hrad to look for these driver files.
I have a dell laptop and its operating on Windows XP,I have followed several options from researching on the internet on how to fix the problem but nothing has worked so far. I am NOT computer whiz by far,I just know basic stuff. It shows its connected to my wireless modem but it keeps saying "AQUIRING IP ADDRESS", the address is saying "O". I know the basics about networks, since I run the networks in the businnes I'm working... But this computer is strange... Once I connect the modem and the drivers are installed the computer shows that it has a internet connection, and I can PING websites in the CMD, but entering any browser programm, I can't browse and it doesn't conecct to Itunes store if I enter Itunes; which means that the internect conection isn't complete or something I have tried EVERYTHING but haven't been able to do anything! I can't get any other proof that the computer is connected to the internet than to ping adresses!

I can't get it to connect to my home wifi--it just says "Can't connect to this network" and nothing else. I did unplug and plug back in the router (does that count as resetting?) and it didn't change anything. I just went to the library and it connected to that wifi without a problem. While there I uninstalled all Norton security products and installed AVG Free 2013. Still not working.

I'm looking at a friends laptop as he said he'd started having problems getting on-line. I've tried it at my home and it briefly worked before it stopped again. It won't connect to my wi-fi or connect via ethernet to router or even straight to the modem through the ethernet.It's a Toshiba L540-D running windows 7It did initially have a few viruses and a couple of Trojans which i have cleared.I have a dlink router which it recognizes and is showing 'connected to' but its also showing 'unidentified network' and 'no internet access'.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Toshiba satellite L305D-S5900. It will recognize and connect to wifi networks at starbucks, libraries, etc. but I just got cable internet at my house. Set up the modem (standard motorola cable modem) and router (Netgear Wireless-N 300, WNR2000) correctly and they are working fine on my girlfriends laptop and ipod touch but my computer will not connect to the internet.When I try to connect it pulls up the network and says that it successfully connects but there is no blue dot on the icon that shows a real internet connection. If I pull up the network/sharing center then it shows Local Only access and says I am connected to the network, but not the internet.
I've tried all of the troubleshooting things that the system goes through and even reset the IP addresses to match the router and still nothing.
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 which is running on Windows 7 (32 bit). I've owned it for over a year now without any difficulties, but it's suddenly unable to access the internet. The wireless icon in the tray shows that it's connected to the router (a Netgear N300), but that it has no internet access. I ran the Network Troubleshooter and received the message: "Your computer is correctly configured but the device or resource (www.microsoft.com) is not responding."
I thought that it may have been a problem with the cable modem (a Motorola SB5101) or with my ISP (Comcast), but I found that the Wi-Fi was working just fine on my cellphone.I tried connecting the laptop via an ethernet cable (to both the router and the modem), but it still wouldn't work. I tried turning everything off and then on again, and still nothing.I then started the computer in Safe Mode with Networking. In this mode, it WAS able to connect to the internet. I don't know what exactly this means, or where to go from here.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L745, just a few days ago it stopped connecting to the Internet it still connects to the network but not the Internet. It's done this before but normally all I have to do is reset the router. I have tried everything I know ( which being a teenage girl isn't much) and nothing seems to be working. Also as far as I know the computer does not and has never had any problems with malware/viruses n' that stuff.
