wMy Gateway notebook won't connect to the internet even when directly connected to the router. When I ran the diagnostic, it said to reset the modem. When I went into Device Manager, there was no modem listed. I did reset the wireless adapter- to no avail
I have an HP notebook and it says I am connected with my wireless, but I have no internet access. I have tried to do the CMD CONFIG ALL, but it comes up with a black box so there is nothing for me to cut and paste. This happens on my daughter's wireless connection as well as at our public library.
I have a HP Notebook PC DV6815nr (knows as DV6700) which i bought 2 years ago. Initially the laptop came pre-installed with Vista. However i upgraded to Windows 7 about a year ago. Yesterday when i turned on my laptop, i noticed that my laptop could not connect to the internet. Even i could not see any available wireless connections. I turn the wireless switch on or off...does not make a difference.
So i decided to check the driver files for the internet which can be found in Device Manager...and noticed that there was a driver ( nVidia nforce networking controller ) which had an exclamation mark. First i am not sure if that driver is for wired or wireless connection??. Secondly, i went on HP Website to see if i can download drivers from their website..and they did but only for PC's with Vista on them..no Windows 7...i tried so hrad to look for these driver files.
I have a dell laptop and its operating on Windows XP,I have followed several options from researching on the internet on how to fix the problem but nothing has worked so far. I am NOT computer whiz by far,I just know basic stuff. It shows its connected to my wireless modem but it keeps saying "AQUIRING IP ADDRESS", the address is saying "O". There are no numbers when I place the mouse over it. I went to the properties and advanced settings and changed the WINS. I tried restoring my computer to the earliest setting I could.

My Gateway NV53 laptop has suddenly lost the ability to connect wirelessly to any network. Ethernet connection works fine. Wireless light is turned on, but laptop does not "see" any wireless networks. It is as if the wireless adapter is no longer there. It does not show up in Device mgr.
I have a nintendo dsi and a 7" wireless netbook and 7" notebook. It says signal strength good, it even says connected. But when I goto internet unable to connect. We have a wireless laptop that works fine.
I have a gateway with windows 7 and was working fine and a couple of weeks ago it will no longer connect to the internet. I have always used the wifi connection. The wifi signal is a orange computer and on my other computer when it is working it is typically green, so I am not sure what this orange color means, if anything.

My Gateway GZ7112 suddenly decided it would not connect to the internet when plugged into any of the 4 ports on the router (tried 2 routers), But will connect just fine when plugged into a switch which is connected to the same router?
I have a Gateway NV59 that I had not used for some time. Recently I started to use it, and I cannot connect to any web pages. I am connected to my wireless network. I have tried all the diagnostic tests I can find on my laptop, and they do not identify the problem. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have Explorer, Safari, and Firefox browsers and non of them will work.
New hardware here, requesting a bit of your knowledge, We are tryingin to setup a simple gateway to gateway VPN
HomeA Has an RV016 with a public static IP Local Group Security Gateway type is IP Only with the IP Local Security Group Type is Subnet, with the local IP class 192.160.0.0 Remote Security Gateway Type: Dynamic + Email Email address some@emailaddress.com Remote Security Group Type: Subnet IP Address 192.168.1.0 IPSec Setup as default with nice password.
HomeB has an RV082 with a dynamic ADSL link Local Group Security Gateway type is DynamicIP +Email Email address some@emailaddress.com Local Security Group Type is Subnet, with the local IP class 192.160.1.0 Remote Security Gateway Type: IP Only Remote Security Group Type: Subnet IP Address 192.168.0.0 IPSec Setup as default with nice password.
The idea is for HomeB which has a dynamic IP, to reach HomeA, which has a static IP and connect. But they just wont. I have not clue what's wrong, I followed the instructions, maybe i miss interpreted something. I could share the VPN logs for both., Im getting a lot of errors there.
I'm unable to connect to the internet from my laptop. When I do a diagnostic test it tells me that the default gateway is not available. I've tried resetting it, resetting my IP address via command prompt, restarting the router, etc.
I just recently got a new wireless modem from Verizon. So far, the connection with that modem is far better. My HP Touchpad, my Sony Vaio laptop, and my custom built desktop are all connected to the network. Unfortunately, that is not the case for my HP Mini1000 notebook. It detects the network connection; but, it cannot connect saying that it is unable to verify the certificate. With all the other devices, all I had to do was put in the WEP key and they were connected to the network. But, the HP Mini does not give me that option. How do I get the notebook to connect to the net?
For over a month now my laptop has been unable to connect to the internet via a wireless connection. It will connect to the network, but that's as far as it goes. Resetting the router does nothing, and the same can be said for resetting the network wireless adapter. However connecting via the LAN cable to the Router will allow me to connect to the internet and use it normally.I've even tried deleting the wireless information for my network off the computer and re-inputting it but that didn't solve the problem either.I have an HP Pavilion g7 notebook PC that is running Windows 7. I got in it June 2012 brand new and have had nothing but problems with the wireless. It worked fantastic for the first few months and then this happened for the first time. I managed to fix it by myself that time, but I don't remember exactly what I did. It worked alright for the next few months but it was kind of spotty and temperamental. And now it's not working at all. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the problem but nothing has worked so far. According to the HP support Assistant my wireless adapter is called "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030"
I was using this router and Malaysia TM UNIFI service. I can use wireless but can't detect the LAN port. I have try it to other modem router and it's working. Its keep showing my local area connection network cable unplugged and no signal at all. And the router was working well on other PC and notebook.Try many way but still can't work
Yesterday after booting my comp up I wanted to get on the internet but for the first time in years with my set up it just wouldn't connect, never done this before, we have a wireless O2 box upstairs which my son has a ethernet directly from the wireless router into his comp and my other son has a notebook (same as mine) and both of them were online but mine just wouldn't connect although I had nothing to say anything was wrong, o2 told me that if the other computers were online then it must be something on my comp that is causing the trouble ? but what could it be ? after three hours offline I rebooted and it was fine and got onto the internet no trouble, this morning it again wouldn't let me online and then bingo it just came on again at 4pm very strange to me
Our modem stopped giving internet to us. my dad freaked out seaid he was going to go to shaw and get a new one, well I just switched the cable and got the internet working again, everybody's happy ,now lets get to my problem. The internet for my Asus laptop now keeps dropping and then reconnecting its strange since this has never happened before so it seems my laptop is now just getting the worst of it as my moms laptop is just running a bit slow on the internet now to.Also just for extra info I hooked up directly to the modem for my laptop and it runs fine its just the wifi.
Compaq C700 Notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.Currently using DSL network and switching to cable modem with Linksys E1000 wireless router. When connecting to the router, it comes up as unidentified network and public. I can customize to change to private, but does not allow to change name.If I delete my current DSL Network, on start up I get a windows defender alert of whether it is a trusted, standard or public network. Then I get another pop up asking to call it Home, Work or Public. With the cable router and wireless modem, I don't get any thing from windows defender or network and sharing center.
I've just tried to Wi Fi connect to the internet for the first time with my Asus Eee PC 1001PX notebook (Window 7 Starter). The signal strength for the Thomson TG585 V7 router is showing as excellent. I used Windows Diagnostics to try and sort the problem out; but it says that Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found and that there is a problem with the wireless adapter or access point.
I am trying to get my daughters laptop re-hooked to the wifi. Other computers and smart phones have no problems. This computer was connected but after the applesauce spill on the keyboard, and subsequent MicroCenter replacement of keyboard, we cannot get the laptop online. It is an Acer Aspire 5517 running Windows 7I have removed all profiles and created a new profile entering parameters from my laptop. I can see the wireless connection, but when I try to connect, I get "Windows was unable to connect to Greg". When I click troubleshoot, I get "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem".
I have lost my wireless connection on my acer notebook... where is the button/switch etc to give me the blue flashing light to demonstrate connection to my wireless internet?
Our HPG62 notebook and a Dell laptop use wireless router in our home. This AM the Dell connects via wireless, the HP shows green on our wireless network but but the house symbol above the list of available wireless networks says "no internet access". I've tried looking for an external switch but don't see one. We are fairly basic users and don't know what to do.
I have a Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN MiniCard and have been able to connect to all hostels wifi networks until now. There isn't anything wrong with the network itself because my iPhone and a different tablet can still connect to it.The network is in the list, full signal, but it tries to connect and sticks at 'Acquiring network address' then fails. I have tried the Repair button an it says it can't repair it because it can't give me a new IP address.
How do I enable the wireless capability on my hp G7286US Notebook? It was working fine until last night. My LAN connection works for my desktop; however, I cannot enable the wireless connection on my laptop. My OS is Windows 7?
