Nov 30, 2011my laptop when I'm on any web browser (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc.) it will say I'm not connected to the internet and stay that way for a minute. Any downloads and stuff I have going still download though and it shos that I am still connected to the internet with excellent strength. This happens with both wireless and Ethernet connection. The only way I can fix it is by disconnecting form the internet and connecting again, even that though only works for like 20 seconds and then it says I'm disconnected again and I have to disconnect and reconnect again.
I don't think its internet connection point either because all my friends and school laptops and desktops have no problems connecting and don't disconnect.

Yesterday when i turned on my laptop, i noticed that my laptop could not connect to the internet. Even i could not see any available wireless connections. I turn the wireless switch on or off...does not make a difference.
So i decided to check the driver files for the internet which can be found in Device Manager...and noticed that there was a driver ( nVidia nforce networking controller ) which had an exclamation mark. First i am not sure if that driver is for wired or wireless connection??. Secondly, i went on HP Website to see if i can download drivers from their website..and they did but only for PC's with Vista on them..no Windows 7...i tried so hrad to look for these driver files.

Long story short, I was told to edit the DHCP lease time in my router settings.There I bumped into another problem.No mather what I tried there was no way of accessing the page. Weird thing is I remember having logged in on it before.Usually you just have to give in the standard gateway which should be 192.168.0.1 in my case. I checked it using ipconfig in cmd and my presumption was confirmed.Then I tried resetting the router to set back any settings that might've accidently been changed, in the hope that it would also reset the standard gateway and no succes.Now my knowledge about networking is verry limited.

My device manager has "other devices" and under that has "ethernet controller" and "network controller," neither of which has a driver. Windows was unable to find a driver when I tried to reinstall the driver (although I'm not sure whether there should be one - the icon next to everything in this category is a yellow question mark). I thought the problem was just a wireless issue until this morning, when I hooked it up with a cable to try to find a wireless driver. It does not connect with the cable either, and now I am really lost.
