Every so often when I type in say url internet cuts out. When I click on IE the internet comes up. As soon as I begin to type w again it cuts out. If I shut down my system and reboot everything works great. I spoke to HP and they said to use disk cleanup. I downloaded malware and did a quick scan. I also used the HP performance and also AVG. Someone else said to check the device manager and make changes to the sleep mode of the my computer. My Computer is a HP-G6. with Windows 7 and IE-9

Cisco VPN :: ASA5505 - IP Address Pool In IPSec Client And Site-to-site VPN

Jul 10, 2012

We have a scenario where the Cisco ASA 5505 will be one end of a site-to-site VPN. The same ASA 5505 also allows Client VPN connection. The question is around IP pooling. If I assign a pool of IP's (192.168.1.20 - 192.168.1.30) for Client VPN connections - do I need to be sure that those same IP's are not used on the other side of site-to-site VPN ?

There could be PC's/Servers running 192.168.1.0/24 on the other side of site-to-site VPN. Would this cause an address conflict ?

Cisco Infrastructure :: 5510 / VPN Site-to-site With ACL By MAC Address

Oct 17, 2012

I need configure a VPN site-to-site between two offices (Office A e Office B)The Office A (headquarters) have a Router CIsco 5510 and we have approximately 200 employess?

The Office B (branch) dont have any cisco Router but we will buy one ( is a small office, we have aproximadaly 20)?So I need configure a VPN  site-to-site using the IPSec (do this is easy), but i need control the computers in the Office B that can access the Office A.

I Think that I can use a acl using the Mac Address to control, but how can I apply a control access List by Mac Address in the VPN site-to-site that is configured using a IPSec?

Is there other form to control the access of the Office B to Office A? We have a big fear for example, a unknow computer connect in the Office B using any mode off access (Ethernet cable, or Wirelless), and this "unwanted" computer access the Office A.

Security / Firewalls :: When Typing And Press Space Bar Two Pop-ups Appear?

Dec 5, 2011

just happened recently when im typing in threads or for websites, the second i hit the space bar two pop up ads appear making me have to close them to get back to what i was typing. These sites are annoying as you have to press leave page as well to close it. as you carry on typing the second you hit the space bar again it does another two pop-ups, which you can imaging gets annoying lol. I'm running Webroot full edition from a shop legit and would have thought it would prevent this happening? Is their anything i can do to stop this and would you like me to run a virus scan and post results?

Cisco VPN :: Site-to-Site VPN Over PPoE Internet Using ASA5505?

Feb 8, 2011

I have a client that wants to establisha S2S VPN across the Internet.  His Canada site (using an ASA5510) has a traditional fibre Internet service. However, the Chilean side (using an ASA5505) is using a PPoE Internet service.  The Chilean IP is dedicated, but the host IP they've received is the same as the default gateway (odd).Anyway, given that it's a PPoE Internet connection with authentication required, is it even possible to establish a S2S VPN.  I guess I'm thinking that if the Canada side tries to initiate to the Chilean side without anyone on their end to initiate the traffic first (and therefore authenticate in the process), will this even work?

Internet Connection Crashes When Flatmate's Laptop Connects?

Dec 17, 2012

I've had some trouble with this and I post here, because I ran into this topic which is almost the same as my problem.Recently I started renting out one of my rooms to this guy with a Windows laptop. Everything I have is Apple:- iMac (with Windows in dualboot)- Macbook (with Windows in dualboot)- iPhone iPad- Airport Extreme (that is connected to the modem/router from the ISP by cable to create its own, more stable, wireless network)I never had any trouble with this network, not when my Macbook is running Windows or when classmates come over to work on a project (some have Windows), but as soon as this guy moved in, the internet started acting weird.Example: The internet is working fine, but when my flatmate comes home and opens his laptop, the internet crashes. Any process that was already connected, continues to work fine (e.g. a downloading torrent-file), but any new "assignment" for the internet just creates an error in Chrome ("the page does not exist" or "the server took too long to respond" for example). At those times, I can't even connect to my router through 192.168.1.1, but the WiFi still works (I can stream videos over the network from iMac to iPad without a problem). After about 2 minutes, the internet is up again, only to repeat the above after about 10 minutes.

I now have denied his MAC-address access from our router, because it was impossible to do schoolwork or just basic browsing, but I would like to just give him access of course! (it's in the contract)I'm going to call my ISP tomorrow and ask what they think is wrong, but I'm 99% certain it's my new renter's laptop. He claims his computer is completely clean, but I'm suspecting there is some kind of process running that just clogs all DNS-requests (or am I saying something weird now?
