Whichever download manager I use, when ever it starts downloading for a bit it somehow manages to disable the wifi on my router. This makes it impossible for me to leave things going over night which is annoying. It happens with IDM and Jdownloader.
View 1 RepliesI have a wire ADSL connection and I use ADSL WiFi enabled router for distribute my internet connection with in my other devices (on my home network). When I downloading large files (more than 30MB) over the internet using my WiFi connection, my connection drop several times. However if I exchange large files within my WiFi network (with in home network via WiFi), my WiFi connection not drop (I can exchange 6GB files without any issue). Why is that? Is it my router issue or my ADSL connection issue? Most of the time after I lost internet connection, i can see my WiFi connectivity standby, it's not disconnect. However some time it completely disconnect. After I lost the connection (standby or completely disconnected) it again automatically connect.
I face this issue if i download large files on the internet, via the WiFi, if i download large files on internet using Ethernet cable, my connection not drop, it's stable. I use default wireless settings on my router? I use open WiFi connection.

-E4200 connected via Ethernet cable (100Mbs) to local ISP for internet access
-E4200 connected via Ethernet cable (1Gps) to my desktop PC
-E4200 connected via wireless (5Ghz with WPA2 personal) to my laptop
In general, everything works fine, I can download files from internet to my PC close to the maximum speed limit (80-90Mbs), the wireless connection goes up to 300Mbs and it can achieve around 10-14MB/s file transfer between PC and laptop.A lot of the time the wireless connection to my laptop is used for HD content streaming from the desktop PC. It works very well until I start downloading files to my PC with speed greater than 50Mbs, when the wireless connection speed drops very fast to about 500KB/s which results in interruptions on the video streaming. At the same time the router’s web interface reacts much slower than usual, as if the router’s CPU is overloaded.
I’ve read this follow up review on Small net builder url...and it’s clear that there are some issues when taking E4200 to the limit, but in my case it’s nowhere near that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computers Network adapter (integrated with the motherboard 'no fancy stuff') disables, though only when I'm putting a bit of pressure on the system. i.e. when playing skyrim etc.I have resolved the issue temporarily by connecting straight to the computer instead of the inbetween switch, but at the cost of only being able to connect this computer at home. The strange thing in my opinion however is that when we have 3-4 computers all connected through the switch, only this one has this error that keeps occuring.I've checked into the power savings settings, as I'm conviced it's some kind of setting on my machine, and set them to max performance as well as disabling windows from beeing able to disable the NIC to save power.

2. I open Network and Sharing Center, and do diagnostics. They come up with result: "the default gateway is not available". Nothing works. But Local Area Connection and Network Controller are both enabled.
3. I have to restart computer for the internet to work again. However, it doesn't restart: it hangs forever in "shutting down" screen, and nothing happens. Probably because computer is still trying to connect to the internet (?)
4. After forced restart, internet doesn't work, but if I run diagnostics again, they come up with result: "The Local Area Connection adapter is disabled", and fixes it automatically. Internet works then.
We have a customer running a RV 120W, and if the internet connection is disconnected it disables NAT, and you have to log on to the setup and enable it again. This is very annoying if the net connection goes down as you have to manually fix, why it does this and how to make it enable NAt by default?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the exact same problem: network adapter disconnects itself and I am unable to disable and enable it again, because it is unresponsive under the device manager and the network and sharing center. The only solution is to reboot the computer, where I can then have access to the network adapter and can reset it.This is since I upgraded windows vista to windows 7 4 days ago. I have upgraded all the driversI have uninstalled the network adapter driver and rebooted, and reinstalled the latest update with no difference.Running the computer in safe mode with networking has not yielded a crash so far, but have not tested this enough.I have tried disabling IPV6 as some people have said this could be reason, but it still crashes.It is somewhat different from what many people mention as I cannot reset the connection without rebooting (which I could live with). I do not use torrents or any site like that.

It is only this port none of the other ports I have open are disabled. I tried switching the server to another port but had the same problem.I have assume its some kind of security feature, since the server gets many requrests that it shuts down the port?

It doesnt matter what network I use , it does the same thing. When the connection is lost it will also cause any other wifi devices (computers, phones) to lose there connection and have to reconnect. I have tried just about anything and everything including using an external usb wifi.

The only problem is that either from the internal network or the guest network I can no longer access the Remote Web Workplace - [URL] or Outlook Web Access [URL] fails with page not found. Internally I can access via \server emote and \serverexchange but of course this does not work for the guest network. We have Small Business Server 2003. External access if fine.
View 0 Replies View RelatedWe are trying to take ADSL interface into another VRF i.e (ip vrf forwarding VRF2 under dialer interface), the ip address negotiated command disappears, and although the dialer interface becomes up-up state, the adsl interface does not get an IP address dynamically.
Tried:
1) to reenter ip address negotiated again after changing the vrf of the interface, still the dialer interface shows "no ip address" under configuration
2) ppp ipcp accept-address again does not work.

My Dell Lattitude E6420 WIFI adapter disables anytime I plug my laptop into the adapter and electric wall outlet. It has the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 adapter. I've downloaded the latest drivers, updated the power settings on the adapter etc. it's becoming a real problem as I often have to be mobile moving from office to office and up having to stay on battery power until it almost dies to avoid having to go into Device Manager each time I plug back into to re-Enable my adapter.

It happens on both 2960 and 3750 switches. Basically the connection drops, and we see in the web interface "Port is Disabled". This appears to happen every 10 minutes.
On the CLI, the status shows as connected.

During the outage, I see the duplex fluctuate between full and half. The outage occurs for approx 90 seconds. If I fix the duplex and speed at both ends, the outage reduces to around 30 seconds. If I apply spanning-tree port fast the outage reduces further to around 10 seconds. Before I change any configuration on the port, the logs show the interface going down

However, once I apply the configuration nothing is logged. However we can still see the connection is disappearing for around 10 seconds. I suspect the issue wasn't resolved for the person reporting the problem in the link above, but because the outage is minimized, and not being logged it is going unnoticed.
I have recently purchased an EA4500 router. I assigned my sons XBOX a static IP via DHCP reservation (outside of the standard DHCP range). I set up single port forwarding on all the standard xbox required ports. Once I click the "enabled" box, I am unable to access the internet from any of the computers connected to the router. If I uncheck the enable box, I am instantly able to access the internet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to enable the workgroup bridge mode on the 5ghz 802.11N radio of a Aironet 1262N, but when I select the workgroup bridge mode from the GUI the radio becomes disabled. If I select the Access Point role from the GUI then the radio instantly becomes enabled. The same thing happens if I attempt the same procedure with the 2.4ghz radio as well. I can get the radios from both bands enabled if I select the Access Point role. I made sure to check that both radios were not set to workgroup bridge as well. I am running 12.4(25d)JA1 code on the AP. This is my first time working with this type of AP.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy internet will cut out randomly wheneveer i am downloading something, and the only way to get my internet back is when i unplug / plug back in my ethernet cable, or restart the computer. Also whenever i do this once, it will randomly disconnect when im not downloading every hour or so and i will have to either disconnect / reconnect my ethernet, or if i restart my PC it will fix it for like 4-5 days if i didnt download anything at all or sometime during a download if i did download something. Also it is only my PC that does this, i can download from my laptop / xbox fine and if my PC is disconnected i still have internet from my modem / router, just not the PC. I am guessing this has something to do with my motherboard. i am using windows 7?

I downloaded the HOSTS file from winhelp2002.mvps.org, hoping it would better my security. However, now some pictures that used to show either show the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." or just have the X box thing. I'm guessing this problem results from the new HOSTS file. What should I do? Should I revert to my old file? If so, then how can I do this?

The router I use is a belkin router and I have access to its gateway using my internet browser. recently reformatted my c drive to fix a bsod on this pc, before this reformat this problem did not exist.

This only happens with my computer, since others in the house dont have the same issue.As strange as it may seem, this doesnt happen with Bittorrent. Only with regular downloads.
