Wireless Internet Refusing To Connect?
Jun 8, 2012
We have just swtiched router and network in out house and upon doing so my computer can no longer connect to the internet, the other two in our house can. The computer can detect the network but the information it has about it is wrong, the security type and radio type. (See picture) it is a Billion Router and works fine on all other computers, we thought at first the problem was with Hamachi but after uninstalling it the problem was not fixed.

After cleaning the infection, none of my browser will work.Firefox display this message: "The Proxy Server is Refusing Connection".IE displays an error as well.I can't even use Steam's (game client) browser to see what games they have available but I am able to sign on.I am sure my internet is working because I am able to log on to my Instant Messaging Program and chat with freinds and use a VoIP software to talk with friends without issue. The problem is happening on my "regular" windows account. My administrative account seems to be problem free as I am able to browse the net like I had before the infection.

I have migrated my ACS data from 4.1 to 5.1 and everything is working fine to test the connection I have configured a switch to get the authentication from the new Tacacs server, using my old username and password..i got in perfectly but when the switch asked my for enable which is the same password, it refused the password.(I have unchecked the <use a different password for enable> option) I deleted my switch from the Tacacs to enter locally, I went in with no problems..i thought that the problem may be from the old configuration.so I created a new username and password to check, and the problem still exist.

The original network had a Zylex router, Netgear Switch. There was 2 pc's, one XP and Win 7. There is also 3 tills connected too. There is VPN network connected too. This emits a wireless signal to connect to a scanning gun and is also used to administrate the entire network. I was told by the Administrator of that network that it shouldn't interfere with the wifi network.
The job I was requested to do was to install 3 new wall plates as the Win 7 pc was using a Belkin wireless adapter. There was 2 put inside the office where the XP and Win7 pc's are located. The 3rd was just outside the office.
Now all the ethernet connections work 100%. The wifi is another story though. It will show up in the connect too, when you try connect it will disappear/no response from AP/connect then disappear, these are random too. No order to when each is error is displayed. Even when I put in another router the exact same issues happen.
I have tried to connect to both routers wifi when it wasn't plugged into the switch. Just the router's turned on with no cables plugged in separately of course, no joy same issue with both.

Our College uses Ethernet connexion for its students with the IPv4 Address of each machine configured using DHCP (not manually). In order to prevent students from playing certain online videogames some ports are blocked for all machines on the network, but they can be manually untagged (ie for competitive play). The problem occurred when we tried to untag the ports to allow online games on this machine. After the allowed ports were modified, the machine refused to assign an IP adress to itself - no matter how many times we try to renew the DHCP Lease. Restoring the previous set of allowed ports fixes the problem, but doesn't allow for online play.
config: OS X 10.8.2 with nothing fancy. Other machines on the network do no experience this problem.

I couldn't find a section for the 651.
Alright so I have an SSH server running on my network. I can successfully connect to it from a local computer using the server's internal IP address, AND I can connect to it from a remote computer using the server's external IP address (it's properly port forwarded).
However, when I try to connect to the server from a local computer using it's external IP address, I get a connection refused error. Is there something I'm missing?

Internet cable connects to modem; modem connects to TP-Link router; router connects to XP Desktop. I have three laptops (2 w/ seven & 1 w/ XP) needing connection to router. One of the OS-7 laptops connects fine to WPA2-PSK router. My main concern is the XP laptop which has an Edimax wireless cardbus that I can't seem to configure it correctly. And I have all the information that I think I need, i.e., SSID, Network Key, Physical Address Value, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DHCP Server Value, DNS Server Value, and more credentials.

I have a gateway with windows 7 and was working fine and a couple of weeks ago it will no longer connect to the internet. I have always used the wifi connection. The wifi signal is a orange computer and on my other computer when it is working it is typically green, so I am not sure what this orange color means, if anything.

I have a weird problem with my home network that I'm unable to fix:I have 2 laptops (Lenovo and HP) both connect to the wireless network and show up as Local & Internet connected on the Windows 7 OS. Both can ping to an outside network with domain names but no pages open on the browser. There's no error displayed on the browser, the page just tries to keep loading. When I connect both these laptops over the wire, I'm able to browse through all pages easily. I also have 2 phones connected to the same wireless network and I can browse over internet without any problems.

I have a HP pavilion p6736f-b. It has wireless capability. It has wireless lan 802.11b/g/n. I know personal it can connect to the internet because I have done it before. Now when i try to connect to the internet it shows that no networks are available. This problems goes away when I use my wireless adapter and it can find my network name fine and I can connect to the internet. I want to be able to use my computer wireless without any usbs since it goes faster and I also use plenty of usb so I dont have the ability to always use a usb for my wireless adapter. I think the problem might be connected to me connecting my xbox 360 manually setting the ip address default gateway etc.

I have a netgear router and an win xp desktop connected to each other through the ISP modem. The internet works great. Xbox live connected via through the netgear router(access point), works great. Now i just recently bought a power cord for an old laptop, charged it, working fine. Its a Compaq laptop, with a vista OS. My problem is not finding the router and/or connecting to it. I just cant seem to access the internet. It shows local connection only with an unidentified network, but it shows my routers name(LOTUS). There is alittle red X in-between the unidentified network and the internet. I pulled off the ip config/all on the vista laptop.

I'm at my brothers house for a few months and trying to get my laptop connected wirelessly to his network. They have multiple computers and their laptops all are able to connect wirelessly. My laptop is able to connect via cable. It also gets a local connection wirelessly, just won't connect to the internet so I'm assuming it's a setting on my computer. It's a Linksys E3000 router. I have an HP G60-235DX laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium.

Recently my modem/router broke and we had it replaced by our provider. Since it has been replaced we have been having problems with our connection. We have 1 desktop and 2 laptops the desktop is connected to the modem. When we have both laptops running we can browse online okay but if one of the laptops starts downloading something or even loading a video or big web page the other laptops connection will not work it. It says its still connected and finds no problems but no pages will load. I also have problems when I download anything. If I begin downloading then on the same laptop I can not even browse the web while I'm Downloading.

I just got a used wireless router (didn't get any cords yet). I have an old wired modem that connects to my pc to give me internet. It uses a cable (not ethernet cord) that plugs into the wall. My wireless modem is a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router model number WRT54GS and for the internet connection uses ethernet. How can i connect the wireless router to the internet so i have a wireless connection? I tried plugging the ethernet cord into my modem and the other side into the internet port in the router, but it didn't work.
