View 9 Replies View RelatedHave been given a Dell computer for my daughter, it is only just over a year old and cant get it to connect to internet. It keeps saying that the router is not working, when I know it is ok because my other computers work on the internet ok. When I was looking to see if I could find problem I managed to access something which let me check computer connection and it came up that the Gateway IP Ping failed so I would not be able to connect to internet
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron Win 7 equipped computer cannot connect to the Internet. I have a DSL router that I can wirelessly connect to, but it says no Internet access. I used the manual Intel Wireless Manual Diagnostic Tools to test my system and failed the ping test. Dialog box says "no response, default gateway,DHCP server" and indicates the ping test failed.I have checked my router and it is working nominally; other laptops in my family have Internet access just fine. My Intel Centrino Wireless N 1030 adapter is working fine. I detect no other hardware problems on my laptop.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI connects to the wireless box and has full signal but an exclamation mark is present.I have run some tests and the IPv4 and IPv6 say they have no internet access.I also run a full test and everything passed except the ping test which failed and it said: no response:default gateway response: dhcp server it suggested disabling security firewall but i'm not sure if that's the correct thing to do or even how to do that!
View 7 Replies View RelatedRan a diagnostics test and failed the Ping test. I'm using the university resident internet. Called the tech place and they said they're investigating their connections and networking thing on their end. Just in case though, I want to know if there's actually something wrong with my laptop rather than their equipment.

I used exactly the same ip addresses for the set up on this KDL-373x524 and got messages "wireless device found, local access failed, internet access failed". As my router and pc are the same as last time why the set up doesn't work this time and what I should do?

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy ping spikes to 1k+ all the time, making online games pretty much unplayable. Sometimes I'll lag up to 3k ms and by the time my ping is back to normal, the game is so behind it is messed up forever.I've looked online for days trying to find solutions, and trying all kinds of things. The problem started after i reinstalled windows xp (it actually started right after my power flickered after i reinstalled, but i think that may be coincidence. I'm not sure though.). I've reformatted since then, but the problem still persists.I think the problem might be WZC, but when I try stopping the program like other people have done, my wireless network disconnects pretty soon after. I've also tried just using the intel software, but that didn't work either. It was fine for a while last night after I changed to the intel software, but after maybe an hour or so it went back to lagging.I have Intel PROSet Wifi agn 5100 as my network card. I'm on a laptop. I also tried doing a ping test in command on my mom's laptop, and it never spiked like mine. Is my network card maybe just too old? I got the laptop almost 4 years ago.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy WLAN has been working fine for the past 6 months. Recently it started connecting and disconnecting itself. ANd now it will only connect to the network but wont give internet access. I can connect to the same router using an ethernet cord. And I can connect to the wireless network using my phone or other computer. There are no driver updates for my network adapter, and I tried reconfiguring the router. That worked for a short period of time, but now I have the same issue. I tried a system restore back to before a recent virus software update to see if maybe that update was causing the firewall to block something.

Yesterday my internet just went out. All of the lights on the modem are still on everything says it should be connected but just doesnt work. When i try to open webpages it says DNS Lookup failed. Called tech support they are sending me a new modem atm, but i have 2 other ones around that i have tried and they say that im connected to the internet, but nothing same lookup error and everything so i do not think it is the modem. Flushed dns, manually entered the isps dns , Dont know what else to try at all.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am using Linksys E4200 wireless router. I connected two machines, this way.
|LAP1|--------(LAN ethernet connection)----------|LinksysE4200|-------(Internet wired connection)--------|LAP2|
On the Linksys E4200, the Internet wired connection side, I gave static IP address which is in the same network range as that of LAP2.When tried to ping from LAP1 to LAP2, ping doesnot happen. Any settings by which I can ping from LAP1 to LAP2.
I have a WRT54G that has worked fine for years, with some PCs hooked up with Ethernet and various other devices connected wirelessly. I came home this afternoon and nothing going through the router could connect to the internet. I've made no changes to anything recently.
I did troubleshooting with Comcast, and we determined that when their modem was hooked up directly to my computer then that computer could connect to the net. Problem solved as far as they are concerned--my router is busted. But I can still connect to the router, and enter its admin screen, and everything looks fine there. The computers on the router can all see each other. So the router is working.
Once I hooked it back up to the modem my computers all lost their internet, but the router does get an IP successfully from Comcast. And it even assigns IPs to my computers that are hooked up to it. It's just that for some reason they still cannot get past the router.I used the ping function in the router admin site and the router pinged Google no problem. My PCs can ping the router without difficulty. But the computers cannot ping Google.
I've tried every combination of power cycles and reboots you can name. I've tried duplicating the MAC address of the PC that connected to the internet onto my router. None of it has made any difference.
After a very painful 20 minutes on Linksys tech chat with somebody who didn't listen to what i was telling them ... i thought i'd come on here and ask.I have just bought a WAG320N,the admin panel tells me I'm connected Yet the Internet LED is NOT lit on my router.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 11z (1110) with Dell 1397 mini wireless card. The wireless connection lags/drops persisitently at any time of day or night. When I connect the computer to internet via ethernet the connection is stable. When I run a diagnostics on the wireless card all pass, except the internet IP ping. I get the following message:
The wireless router/AP for your network is working, but your computer is not able to use an IP address to connect to the Internet. You will not be able to connect to the Internet, although you might be able to connect to your local network. Contact your network administrator or wireless router/AP installer for assistance.
I have installed latest driver for the 1397 mini wireless card, albeit a couple of years old.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Studio Xps435MT connected to the internet through a 2Wire DSL modum using an ethernet cable. Installed a new hard drive last week after drive failure, Reinstalled Dell drivers and utilities using disc, then operating system, software, updated drivers, installed SP2.
Internet connection worked fine since then. Yesterday and from then on, Windows and modum will not recognize network adapters so not internet availability although device manager shows them working. Modum does work with my laptop so I can access internet through that.
Network and sharing shows unidentified network and limited connectivity IPv4 and 6, on IPv4 no default gateway or DNS server identified, no IPv6 gateway. Tried reinstalling modum but shows no network adapters identified.
Windows system info shows that intel 82567LF 2GB connection installed and reset today, default IP gateway not available.

3. No internet connection icons in the tool bar. There is an internet connection icon on computer No.1 showing two computers and a bubble.
4. No icons in 'Network Connections'
5. In 'My Network Places' there is a Belkin Icon but when properties is clicked it says "This item is not currently on your network".I may have accidentally deleted icons from network connections or some of the associated folders.
I've got a problem with my Linksys E1000 router. When I bought it, it worked without trouble. Setup was easy and straight forward and I was able to connect all my wireless devices (2 latops, a mobile) without any problem. Then, after two months or so, I noticed the laptops were losing internet connection (or not finding the wireless network on start up). Rebooting the router seemed to work the first couple of times to restore the wireless connections, but after a few more days, the wireless network either shows up and the devices are unable to connect to it OR the wireless network does not appear in the network list. However, the wired connection to my desktop PC via ethernet cable has no issues at all. My conclusion is that these wireless routers (E1000) have a defect in the radio card.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was able to go onto the internet with no problem. I've been searching forums trying to solve my problem but to no avail. I have Windows XP installed, I can connect to the LAN network but I cannot go online. I can ping the gateway but not the DNS as well as other address name or ip address. This is the output of ipconfig /all:
Description : Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
Dhcp Enabled : Yes
Autoconfiguration enabled: Yes
IP address: 192.168.1.145
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers : 202.160.8.2
202.160.6.20P.s: All the other computers in the LAN can connect to the internet.
When I first set up the Zone based firewall I used the Wizard with a setting of "low".The issue I am now having is related to adding a new subnet on a completely different IP range. My normal network is 10.20.0.0/16 sub-netted down into /24's for each vlan.Recently I added a new VLAN with a 172.16.0.0/16 subnet. I plan to use this vlan for testing purposes. I updated NAT on the router to allow the 172.16.0.0/16 range to be NATTED.From the router I can ping anything on the 172. 16.0. 0/16 range and from a test machine in the 172.16.0.0/16 I can ping all of the 10.20.0.0/16 addresses including the router. My problem is I can not ping out onto the Internet from a 172.16.0.0/16 computer.I have checked and so far I have not been able to find any policies on the firewall saying traffic must be sourced from the 10.20.0.0/16.

I keep calling them for this problem and they came changed the cable and the router but the problem keeps going.I've had the same ISP for over 2 years now and I didn't have any problem but has started about 1 month ago. At first I was using a TP-LINK 54M Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router connected throught Poppe with a username. View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever my sister uses her laptop it makes the routers ping really unstable. It usually lies between 200-1000 when she uses the laptop. When she turns it off the ping remains at 21. Our internet is 8mbps/0.7mbps. I have tried other laptops and had no problems, but her laptop and her general use makes it impossible to play an online game without lagg. She doesn't download anything, just plays some flash/java games, chats and webcam etc. I just can't understand why the ping becomes so unstable when she uses her laptop. What can I do to make the ping more stable? Any software I can install to limit how much ping she uses or something? Something I can buy to split the line between us or anything like that? Software that checks what she is doing that makes the ping unstable? She just had a few programs and chrome up and still ping was unstable. None of the other laptops in the house behaves this way nor any of the desktops. It also makes web pages load 5 times slower?
