I can't remote to server 2003. On the server, the Enable Remote Desktop is gray out with a check mark. On the remote assistance it is not gray out with a check mark. when Remote desktop connection from a workstation here is the message error.Remote desktop can't connect to the remote for one of these reason.
1)Remote access to the server is no enabled
2)The remote computer is turned off
2)The remote computer is not available on the network.
Make sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the server, and that remote access is enabled.

I'm using 2003 server for DHCP settings. I don't want some computers to get ip address automatically but if they put manually ip address, it's ok, they can connect. How it can be done?I mean when those computers try to connect for wireless, they should not get any ip address (so internet) until they put manually ip address, default gateway and dns server.

I have a server 2003 r2 machine connected on a LAN.the server is used for data storage and the local workstations use the data on mapped drives. When the server is connected to the internet ... all of the workstations on the lan partially lose the internet. When i ping google while the server is connected to the internet I get 50% to 75% loss. When I disable the LAN adapter on sevrer- alll the workstations on lan have 0% loss. When I enable lan adapter on server and configure tcpip and for primary dns i enter 1.1.1.1 ,I still get 0% loss, when I enter 8.8.8.8 for primary dns the problem persists/It kind of sounds like a virus on server causing very heavy traffic?

I have a 2003 standard machine with networking issues. the nic shows that it is connected and it received the correct DHCP ip from the router but i can't ping the router or any other ip on the network.i ran a TCP/IP fix, Winstock Fix, LSP Fix, checked the services that starts up, checked the startup programs, turned the firewall off, checked in advanced settings on the nic if the correct order is there. the funny thing is that in safe mode with networking it works like a charm but not when i boot in to windows normally. If i ping the router it just shows destination host unreachable.

Windows Server 2003, XP and W7 desktops. I have a growing number of user folders that are seemingly in the wrong place. When I am looking at the directories locally on the server, there are some document folders that are directly in the Users folder, rather than existing as subfolders within a user's folder. In fact, the user's folder is not present at all. So rather than Joe Smith's folder structure being 'Users/jsmith/', there are a series of folders under 'Users' that are named 'Documents'. As I click on each one though, I see in the address bar 'Users/jsmith' etc. In the tree, there is no folder named jsmith, but in the address bar there is. And in the address bar, there is no folder named 'Documents'.This seems to be limited to newer users and older users who have Windows 7 PCs, but I don't know for sure if that's the source of the change.

i have recently added to a domain. The initial setup is a server running windows 2003 and several xp machines which logon to the domain using mandatory profiles. However, after adding windows 7 machines and logging them on to the system it doesnt load the profiles. (which is fine as I understand you cannot use the same profiles with windows 7+xp)The problem is it automatically creates a roaming profile when logging off and saves it back to the same path as the other profiles under user.V2 which is growing considerably and causing huge logoff and logon times. How can I get the windows 7 machines to not attempt roaming profiles back to the server and instead to just save the profiles locally when logging off.

When I try and copy files from my Windows 7 Home PC to my Windows Server 2003 share, it copies so much then hangs the Server sharing. It then appears that the share has disappeared. If I copy from the Server 2003 to 7, it copies fine, and copying from XP to 2003 also works fine. I had a chat with a colleague who told me that he has the same problem copying from Vista to XP.
