Unable To Connect Multiplayer Games?
Jan 19, 2012I just installed several multiplayer games like CoD:Modern Warfare, Counter Strike,NFS: The Run on my PC. But whenever I connect to multiplayer mode, it gives error saying Unable to Connect to internet. However Internet is connected and I am able to surf or download the internet with much better speed.I am unable to figure out what the problem is. I had also turned off the firewall, antiviruses still problem remains same.I think that my ISP is filtering some ports, if it is so then is there any way to figure it out. And is there any way to run my multiplayer games

Jun 2, 2011Now there is an issue that I don't really know how to deal with it and its the multiplayer games ping that I get lately , its about 3 months that I get very high pings when connecting online to a multiplayer server , no matter which game it is , the same happens.
I was getting around 380-470 ping while playing on an European server , but then we solved my last problem (The someone that was connected to my home network) and it reduced the ping to something around 250-300 (sometimes it drops to 100-120).
It is still very high , 3 months ago I had a real bad internet connection and when I was playing on European server's I was getting a stable ping of 100-120 that was normal !
A friend of mine got the same connection that I have and he gets a ping of 100-120 and we play on the same servers (same ISP too).
How can I know where the problems come from ? I did move to a new house in a new area , maybe the ISP server's over there are weak and over loaded ? Because when its like 02.00 AM I am getting a stable ping of 100-120 . What is going on here ? Is there a possibility to ask the ISP to move my connection to another area servers or something like that ?

Mar 23, 2011I am trying to open up certain ports to host multiplayer games on the internet on my computer and on Xbox 360.The only internet service provider is primecast. I am able to open the ports on my router but the ports still show closed using portforward.com portchecker. I disabled all firewalls and Anti-Virus, no luck. I even connected my computer directly to the modem, the ports are still closed. The Router is a Linksys WRT400N set to single band. The modem is an Alcatel although there is no model number (it has a fiber optic connection, coax connection and 2 ethernet port connections). The condo is cat 5 ready so the router has multiple ethernet cables which go to the ethernet wall plugs throughout the apartment which is how I connect to my desktop.
FYI:One of the games I am trying to play online IL2 1946, people simply cannot connect.In another game Company of Heroes, people cannot connect and I cannot connect to most games it says there is a NAT issue when connecting.
PS When I go into ipconfig I now see IPv4 and IPv6, I don't know if that has something to do with it but to my knowledge these sections were not here previously (before I moved).

Sep 29, 2011I restored the computer to factory defaults to have a fresh start. I downloaded some games and this is when I realized my problem. The first instance of the problem was when I was playing a game called "League of Legends". About ten minutes through the game, the game would freeze. It isn't a computer freeze because I could still move the mouse and see people walking in place. I was then disconnected. The second instance was when I was playing a game called "Dragon Nest". I would run through a dungeon and after a short-while everything would start to move in placeI could still move freely but whenever I tried to hit something the hits wouldn't register. After about 30 seconds everything went back to normal and a lot of monsters died and I was hurt. I tested my computers download and upload speed to see if anything was different from my family desktop. My download speed on the laptop is 5 mbps, and the one on the desktop is 26 mbps. The desktop is directly hooked up to the modem, and the laptop is wireless (I don't know if this would be the reason for the difference in speed, and or disconnection/lag issues.) I have also noticed that videos on YouTube load A LOT slower than on my desktop. I finally gave up and tried to use my desktop but I seem to have disconnected from Dragon Nest on there as well (except this time it automatically disconnected me, it didn't have a pause in the game.

Feb 3, 2012I have just bought one of these linksys routers to try and solve a problem I am having with disconnects when playing online games with a ps3 and also some moderate firewall states with some games. My isp is bt and I have a black home hub v2, the problem with this router is that it does not like doing dmz or port forwarding for that matter very successfuly, apparently the new router I have bought is much better at these things.So I'm trying to figure out if its best for me to buy a modem to go with this router or to configure the hh to work as a modem only. Also if I get a new modem will this cause any problems with using the bt vision services.

May 31, 2012Every time I play League of Legends, Rumble fighter, or Maplestory, about 20-30 minutes into the game, my laptop disconnects from my router. Then, when I try to reconnect, the router connection thing magically disappears from the settings. This forces me to restart my laptop. When I DO restart my laptop, the connection is there again. Everything is fine when I surf the web.

Basically, I cannot connect to any game servers when I am connected through this router. I used my Android to tether into 3G internet and was able to connect without any issues so it's not OS-side at all. I've tried many settings arbitrarily one at a time, checking each time to no avail. Is there a particular setting that is screwing with this game? I've got the ports (27000-27100 TCP/UDP) forwarded and I've used a Port Checker tool to verify that they are open. Obviously it's something in the router that is blocking the connection..but what else is there to try?
Should I finally flash the 1.13NA firmware?
