My computer it connected to the internet wirelessly but i cant broswe the web or play video games online. I am an avid world of warcraft player but it tells me i cannot connect to the launcher. The laptops that connect to the same internet work just fine though. I have tried to connect through an ethernet cord with no luck.

I cannot play any games or even use the internet to browse 99% of the time.The only time I can get it to work for about 5 minutes is like so; I open internet explorer and after a few minutes of loading it tells me that it cannot connect to the web page (or something like that). It has a troubleshoot option, after clicking it, it scans for possible solutions but it never finds anything. When it tells me it found nothing, there is another button to explore additional options, the instant I click this button, everything starts working again for a few minutes, and it just doesn't make sense to me why this is happening.I have to study and I need the internet, and I would like to play games again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI restored the computer to factory defaults to have a fresh start. I downloaded some games and this is when I realized my problem. The first instance of the problem was when I was playing a game called "League of Legends". About ten minutes through the game, the game would freeze. It isn't a computer freeze because I could still move the mouse and see people walking in place. I was then disconnected. The second instance was when I was playing a game called "Dragon Nest". I would run through a dungeon and after a short-while everything would start to move in placeI could still move freely but whenever I tried to hit something the hits wouldn't register. After about 30 seconds everything went back to normal and a lot of monsters died and I was hurt. I tested my computers download and upload speed to see if anything was different from my family desktop. My download speed on the laptop is 5 mbps, and the one on the desktop is 26 mbps. The desktop is directly hooked up to the modem, and the laptop is wireless (I don't know if this would be the reason for the difference in speed, and or disconnection/lag issues.) I have also noticed that videos on YouTube load A LOT slower than on my desktop. I finally gave up and tried to use my desktop but I seem to have disconnected from Dragon Nest on there as well (except this time it automatically disconnected me, it didn't have a pause in the game.

I have just bought one of these linksys routers to try and solve a problem I am having with disconnects when playing online games with a ps3 and also some moderate firewall states with some games. My isp is bt and I have a black home hub v2, the problem with this router is that it does not like doing dmz or port forwarding for that matter very successfuly, apparently the new router I have bought is much better at these things.So I'm trying to figure out if its best for me to buy a modem to go with this router or to configure the hh to work as a modem only. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing dropping connection and can't play online games because of extreme lag. when pinging certain sites here is the results at the bottom. so very extremely high ping. then after a while like 5 mins, when i hover my mouse cursor at the network icon it says limited access and i don't have any internet connection, even powercycling doesn't work. it stays like that. when using direct connection to the modem only it works fine. but when using the wrt120n router i experience that problem either wired or wireless it stays the same. My firmware is latest, router settings default.

I've tried using dd-wrt and tomatos firmware with same results. what I can do to try to fix or should I just go buy a new router? If so whats recommended that's not to expensive.
Every time I play League of Legends, Rumble fighter, or Maplestory, about 20-30 minutes into the game, my laptop disconnects from my router. Then, when I try to reconnect, the router connection thing magically disappears from the settings. This forces me to restart my laptop. When I DO restart my laptop, the connection is there again. Everything is fine when I surf the web.

I'm having a problem with my PlayStation and Xbox online gaming. my NAT types are too strict to play some games at all and when i set up my network connection i have a NAT type 3. I am not very handy with networking to fix my problem.
Trying to get this computer online but nothing is working. Windows Updates will download and install updates. The network center says it has access and is connected to the internet with zero problems. However, whenever I try to browse the internet or play a game online it will not connect.I've tried reinstalling my nic drivers. windows update did its thing but as soon as it finished downloading and started installing my AVG anti-virus pop'd up requesting to move some files to "the vault", when that happened windows finished installing and asked my computer to restart, after it restarted i tried to go on AIM and Ventrilo (aka Vent), here's i knew something was wrong, I couldn't sign in to AIM all it said was "waiting for Network..." and Vent just simply said "unknown last ip address" I went to command prompt > ipconfig where it said connection-specific dns suffix it was blank, for ip address it still showed my ip same for subnet mask there was still some numbers but, for default gateway it was blank, thinking it must had something to do with the drivers window installed I did a system restore to two days ago, after it rebooted I thought I fixed it, I was able to sign on AIM as well as Vent even able to use google chrome and watch a friend stream on live on twitch tv, so calling it a night I shut down my PC and when to sleep, now to the title, woke up turned on PC got on AIM and Vent perfectly tried to play Maplestory (don't judge XD i grew up with that game) but it said I had to download the game, made sense to me I just got the game a last night but just did a system restore to 2 days before so I started downloading the game it would work for a few moments but then my internet would die and the same problem that I described would happen again, and the only way i could get my internet to work on my PC was to restart the computer?
I download drivers from Nvidia website it self so i did and it said my motherboard drivers were out of date, I downloaded the drivers and installed them, the Nvidia guid said it would uninstall the old drivers and restart the computer and install new drivers but, when the computer restarted it said something about there were other wizerd installings ? and press okay to minimize the prosses so I can close those, I tried but it did some kind of loop saying again that it would unistall and install after restarting and again like last time said there were other programs running, this time i clicked exit, I went back to Nvidia site to see if the drivers for the motherboard installed, the versions matched but the site did state "your drivers are up to date" like it normally would just asked if I wanted to down load the driver as if my motherboard was still out of date?

I am trying to open up certain ports to host multiplayer games on the internet on my computer and on Xbox 360.The only internet service provider is primecast. I am able to open the ports on my router but the ports still show closed using portforward.com portchecker. I disabled all firewalls and Anti-Virus, no luck. I even connected my computer directly to the modem, the ports are still closed. The Router is a Linksys WRT400N set to single band. The modem is an Alcatel although there is no model number (it has a fiber optic connection, coax connection and 2 ethernet port connections). The condo is cat 5 ready so the router has multiple ethernet cables which go to the ethernet wall plugs throughout the apartment which is how I connect to my desktop.
FYI:One of the games I am trying to play online IL2 1946, people simply cannot connect.In another game Company of Heroes, people cannot connect and I cannot connect to most games it says there is a NAT issue when connecting.
PS When I go into ipconfig I now see IPv4 and IPv6, I don't know if that has something to do with it but to my knowledge these sections were not here previously (before I moved).

I can't connect directly to the modem because it's my roommates internet and it's connected to her computer so my only option is wireless or to connect directly via adapter that goes through the power outlets in the house. Range Extenders work off of the idea of pulling a signal from the Base Station and then repeating the signal frequently, this generally causes rebuffering issues with most wireless devices within a network.I believe I need a wireless extender that does not repeat the signal, more of a wireless access point.

This worked well. Now I just bought a Dell laptop and router. The router needs to be connected to the desktop via the nic card for both desktop and laptop to work thru the router. I attempted to see if I could get the integrated card working. I entered setup and put the setting to ON for the integrated NIC card. I save and exited and the screen went black and stated "Plug and Play Configuration Error" 3x's. I rebooted and hit F2 to get into setup, but it won't let me and just goes right to the "plug and play configuration error" 3x's....

Last night I accessed the Internet at home via my USB Internet dongle (actually an O2 mobile phone). Today neither works. I have a vlan for admin/private internal access that uses the native vlan (1) and guest vlan (50). I have configured both and I am trying to get both to go out the same Internet connection.
I cannot get the guest access to access the Internet. It looks like my computer will go, but it just comes up saying no Internet access.All interfaces are trunking this vlan properly. I can communicate from the laptop to the 3560 but I just can't get to the Internet.
I am trying to setup internet access and intranet access using two cards per PC. I don't have sever software and I want to be able to share files between several machines. I have two routers. One that connects to cable modem and one that connects to intranet side. I have assigned different static ip addresses to both cards.
