Jan 29, 2012Our modem stopped giving internet to us. my dad freaked out seaid he was going to go to shaw and get a new one, well I just switched the cable and got the internet working again, everybody's happy ,now lets get to my problem.The internet for my Asus laptop now keeps dropping and then reconnecting its strange since this has never happened before so it seems my laptop is now just getting the worst of it as my moms laptop is just running a bit slow on the internet now to.Also just for extra info I hooked up directly to the modem for my laptop and it runs fine its just the wifi.

Apr 29, 2011I've just tried to Wi Fi connect to the internet for the first time with my Asus Eee PC 1001PX notebook (Window 7 Starter). The signal strength for the Thomson TG585 V7 router is showing as excellent. I used Windows Diagnostics to try and sort the problem out; but it says that Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found and that there is a problem with the wireless adapter or access point.

Apr 24, 2012I have a Notebook HP Pavillion DV6 3113sa with Windows 7 64-bit My Broadcom Bluetooth and Wireless Combo Card is not being detected. On device manager> Network adapters I cannot see my the wireless adapter. Realtek PCIe GBE Family controller is in the device manager though. Also I can access internet with an ethernt cable and my phone and other computer can detect my wireless router. The wireless light is also continually orange and will not change. So neither bluetooth or wireless is working. I have down loaded the 2 Broadcom drivers from the HP website but neither fix the problem. However the bluetooth driver says something like 'Driver failed to install because no bluetooth device was found'.

Nov 30, 2011my laptop when I'm on any web browser (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc.) it will say I'm not connected to the internet and stay that way for a minute. Any downloads and stuff I have going still download though and it shos that I am still connected to the internet with excellent strength. This happens with both wireless and Ethernet connection. The only way I can fix it is by disconnecting form the internet and connecting again, even that though only works for like 20 seconds and then it says I'm disconnected again and I have to disconnect and reconnect again.
I don't think its internet connection point either because all my friends and school laptops and desktops have no problems connecting and don't disconnect.
My laptop is an ASUS Notebook G72GX

Jul 13, 2012I own an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC and recently purchased a Cisco E1500 to replace my aging WRTG54 wireless router. Since installation of the new router I keep getting dropped from my LAN and the internet with "connectivity issues" ... this only occurs on my notebook PC and not the other wireless devices I have in my home. I’ve done some searching on the internet and this seems to be a generic problem with the Broadcom 802.11b/g/n card the notebook uses. I have 2 questions:
1) Is there an easy way to adjust either the card or the router to deal with these issues and if not then
2) what is the best notebook card to replace the Broadcom with to assure these issues go away.

Jul 8, 2012I'm installing all the drivers and such, and the wireless network card will not seem to work. I tried installing the packaged driver and it seemed to work, but it won't find my wireless network. So I went to the manufacturer's site and downloaded the latest, dated April this year, still nothing. The card shows up in Device Manager with no red X or question mark, and says is 'working properly' but in network connections I can't get it to recognize a network.It's inconvenient to get a ethernet cable run to my room, so I'm not sure what to do now. I tried manually entering the SSID and WEP to no avail?

Costumer support didn't tell me anything but reinstall the drivers.

I've got in my PC an Asus PCE-N53 wifi card (comp isn't close enough to modem), and using it and speedtest.net I get speeds up to 40mbps (rarely, at average around 28-33mbps). When I test on a wired PC or on my brother's surface pro, I get from 60-80mbps. I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong with the asus card. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, switching PCI slots, different system and it's still the same.

Aug 14, 2012My PC has a wieless card in it and last night the internet went off and then I wouldn't find my router at all, just everyone elses.I tried resetting the router, unplugging it an leaving it for a while, then resetting my PC. Tried unplugging the wireless card and plugging back in. Made sure I have latest drivers. Disabled and enable the card.I then tried plugging in an external belkin adapter in the usb and that worked.There are 2 other PC's in the house and they are both connecting to the internet fine. But I tested an old laptop we have and that didn't pick up the router either.I went on the pc in the other room next to mine and tried changing the channel it was on from 12 to 5 and it actually worked now my pc can find my router (???)But we've been having alot of issues lately with bad internet on certain channels etc.I don't really understand why channel 5 would work but channel 12 doesnt? We are experiencing more latency on that channel too.

Nov 4, 2012reliability of the ET dual port server adapter. I have a Windows Server 2012 hyper-v host thats used to run all of the vm's I use in my house on an ASUS P9X79 WS motherboard. The board comes with 2 Intel gigabit nic's, one of which is an Intel server nic. Ever since installing Server 2012 it only registers one onboard adapter for use and the other isn't. Because of this I am planning on getting a second server grade network adapter for the vm's to use and have the onboard dedicated to management only. The only thing currently holding me back is if the OS will properly detect and run the network card in a non-server motherboard? Any insight as to if it will work on my board or not? Google has only revealed uses on server boards and not workstations.

My problem is I cannot re-connect to it without having to do a total restart. I go to the place to refresh the list, and it finds nothing. I ask it to repair the network, and it can't becasue it cannot find a network. I have at least 4 other networks in the area that I can normally see, and none appear when I hit the refresh button. But I totally restart the system, and everything works fine again (until it drops again).

Oct 5, 2012I recently moved into a larger 2 story house, and for the first few months I was using a Linksys E1000 I've had for about 2 years now. It's a fine single band router, but the people upstairs and the xbox/PS3 in the living room didnt have the strongest connection.
I shopped around and finally got a ASUS RT-N66U for a really good, strong dual band router that would supposedly give better range and performance than my old E1000.
Unfortunately, since I got it everyone is having issues they never had before, namely:Signal dropping all around the house and having to search for the network much slower performance than before the xbox/PS3 cant hold a stable connection even for a few minutes now, when before you could watch Netflix HD programs easily
I've upgraded the Firmware to 3.0.0.3.178 since I heard earlier firmwares had issues, but other than that and opening my ports for qTorrent it is relatively stock settings.
