View 16 Replies View RelatedI have recently made a WAN change from T1 to fiber and my Cisco 2600 series router no longer needs to connect over the Serial T1 card. The Serial connection also provided a few voice channels for the old phone system that are no longer needed. I need to keep Main Cisco 2600 router in place because I have many network devices that use it as the gateway instead of my firewall. I will not require the second subnet for Offsite Cisco 2600 anymore either. commands that will be required to remove all instances of the Serial connection and Offsite Cisco 2600. I have included the config of the Main Cisco 2600 below. [code]

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 2911 routers that will be connected via fiber with an ethernet Gig handoff to each router. Each router will then be connected to local networks on a second ethernet interface on the router. I have always connected routers via serial connections so this is new to me. Outside of the usual ethernet interface addressing configuration, is there anything else that would need to be configured on the 2 routers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile I managed to connect to each router individually, I decided it was time to connect the routers together via serial; as I don't have any serial cables and need to buy some, what serial cables I need, as well as to ask whether I have the right cards in my router(s) that will allow me to do so.
I bought 3 1841 routers, and all have a 1 port serial WAN Interface Card (WIC 1-T); one router has 2 of these, and one router has a WIC-1B-S/T .. My question is, can I connect the routers with a serial cable via WIC 1-T, or do I need a 2-T
I have two 2950 Switches and am trying to connect via my laptop. My laptop doesn't have a serial port so I am trying to connect through the ethernet port, with a straight through cable and on the end as it goes into the console port I have bought a cisco console rollover adapter. When I turn on terra term I get nothing...just a black screen and it disconnects.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just finished setting up a bundle of (2) T1's in a multilink bundle and I'm having issues with one of the T1's not wanting to join the bundle.
The router I'm using on the remote office location is a 3620 router running code c3620-i-mz.121-1c.bin
The campus router which is a 7206 is setup the same exact way with multilink 240 and like I've said, serial 0/0 is joined to the bundle just fine, so we are running off one T1 connection.
The serial interface that is not working is: serial 0/1
Here is a show-run:
interface Multilink240
ip address 172.18.xxx.xxx 255.255.255.252
ip route-cache flow
ip ospf network point-to-point
service-policy output PhonesFirst

I am trying to find the serial number on the CLI that matches the serial number sticker on the back of a WS-C2948G-GE-TX switch that runs CatOS. I am running code cat4000-k9.8-3-2-GLX.bin. I have 4 different switches and all the stickers have a serial that starts with JPE.. and both "show version" and "show sprom 1" and "show sprom 2" gives me a completely different serial number that starts wtih JAE... All of these serial numbers I get from the CLI match with each other. The command "show sprom chassis" says "Feature not supported."
Is it possible to find the serial number that matches the sticker from the CLI on a 2948G? Why does Cisco make this so confusing?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have this 2801 in a critical environment. We had a brief power blip, and even though the router is on UPS, something happened. Anyway, after working with TAC, they determined the flash card had gone corrupt. Lucky for me I had a spare 2801 in my office, I grabbed that flash card and plugged it in and we're back up and going.
TAC sent me a new flash card. No matter what I do, I cannot get IOS to load on this thing! I am stuck in rommon. Here's what I've tried:
tftpdnld in rommon, times out. using another 2801 as a tftp-server. doesn't complete. using xmodem. ugh. never seems to get started. booting the router with a known good flash card, so I can get to ena, and "copy tftp flash".
have used tftpd32, Solar Winds TFTP server, What's Up Gold TFTP server, and open source tftp from sourceforge. With the tftp32, it always gets to exactly 73% download and then times out (it says, I have a feeling it's noty really a timeout). I have tried having the router and tftp server the only devices on a switch, i have tried the router plugged directly into the tftp server with a cross connect cable. No happiness. The open source tftp server reported (and I have to paraphrase, I am not near the router) "client does not support block number recount" or something like that. The client being the 2801.
The iOS file is about 45M. Someone asked me if the flash card was formatted...would that matter? would the tftp even start if it wasn't?
OK, I've gone on long enough. TAC is dispatching a new card AND 2801!
Recently my company buy a EHWIC4ESG card and put into the cisco 1941. The reason we buy this card is because the in built two network ports of cisco 1941 are being used up. g0/1 is being connected to the internet and g0/0 is being connected to the office switch (192.168.5.x)
We have two servers (192.168.6.x and 158.55.33.x) that required to be connected to this router 1941 where the router will be configured as VPN for external user to access this server.
The EHWIC4ESG card is put into the router 1941 and after typing the "running-config" command, i could see it create a vlan 1 interface and
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/0
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/1
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/2
interface GigabitEthernet0/1/3

I have 3725 router with internal CF and external slot for CF. I tried upgrading and ended up deleting the iOS version on the internal flash, and can not now put the iOS back!! I turned it off.... so there was no active iOS..
I have tried formatting the CF card on an 1841 but the 3725 won't read it. It is obviously stuck at ROMMON
What is the correct way to format a CF card so my 3725 will read it and I can get an iOS back on it!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI will be adding two WS-X6716-10GE cards in a CAT6509 soon, and will create 4 port channels with 3 ports each in the new cards, but I do have a few questions:
1 - I will be adding cards in slots 3 and 8, can I mix and bundle ports from both modules into a single etherchannel, I mean, like two ports in slot 3 and 1 port in slot 8 to create a PortChannel ?! Or can I only bundle ports in the same card/port-group in a Etherchannel using this WS-X6716-10GE card?
2 - Do I need to issue the hw-module slot x oversubscription port-group y command in order to be able to bundle ports in the Etherchannel I need to create ?! I will be using 4 Etherchannels (LACP) with 3 ports each, running in trunk mode. So I guess, I will be using something like:
int tengig 3/1
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
logging event link-status

Is there any in depth documentation on how to configure a VWIC3-4MFT-T1/E1 card? It will sit in a CISCO2911/K9. The network is point to point T1s - a quantity of four coming into this router.
