Home Network :: Connect To 2 Internet Connections Simultaneously

Jul 3, 2011

I'd like to use 2 internet connections at the same time.Assuming there are two internet networks.Network A and Network B (both are either wireless OR one is wireless and one is wired OR both are wireless). So, now I want to use BOTH internet connections simultaneously. However, both connections will still be separate and not combined:If I had to transfer big files, then I could do this on network A.Now, I want to use network B for other "normal" internet use so that the transfer of files in network A gets the maximum speed since there is no interference with anything else.I have to let the computer know somehow that there are two connections used simultaneously. I also have to setup what programs use what connection. E.g., IE uses network a and Firefox uses network b, program "x" also uses network b, etc.I would use two network card/USB Wifi Adapers so that each network card/wifi adapter can connect to one network.

Home Network :: Can't Get Usb Modem To Connect To The Internet With Router

Jul 16, 2012

I'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 usb dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port. I get a connection at 40% and 100 bytes are sent and some are received but the connection drops. Is it a problem with the connection? I will upload a image.

Home Network :: Notified When Somebody Tries To Connect On Home Wifi?

Nov 24, 2011

My Wifi network has a wpa2 password that is a random string of characters and numbers and yet last month a rogue IP Address kept popping up on my DNS list. It has to be coming from my neighbor who's bedroom is about 15 feet away from my router. So unless someone is sitting out on my front lawn to do this then it must be him.I've been looking for software that will notify me when a connection my router is attempted and kudos if it also asks my permission first would be great. There are wifi packet sniffers out there like Cain&Abel, Airsnort, that sort of thing but I am not quite savvy enough nor do I want to turn this into a complicated hobby but just need a basic warningin case something gets past my passwords again

Can't Connect To Home Network

Jul 23, 2012

Well I am typing to you all from my linux box. I have a desktop that runs Windows XP SP3 and have not been able to get it to connect for months now. I use an smc2862w-g USB card to connect from it ordinarily but like I said, it hasn't connected to my home network for months. It reads and connects to my neighbors networks just fine but for some reason it is isolated to my home network. My home router/modem is an Arris model.Today while I was talking to some guys I know in IRC who work the IT field, I got it to work for all of about 10 minutes. The problem is, is that it was an intermittent sync. I noticed that when I were to change channels in my router it would follow to let's say channel 11 but the card would bounce back and forth between 11 and 10 causing intermittent sync. If I changed to channel 4 then it would bounce between that and 5. Channel 6, same thing and so on and so forth. I read somewhere that it could be a problem with conflicting chipsets between the router and card but that doesn't make much sense to me. I've been in the computer field for a few years now as a Security Specialist and tech support agent so this does not add up. [code]

Home Network :: Red X Over Network Icon / Have Internet Access?

Jun 30, 2011

I have been using a laptop to stream videos through my xbox for over 2years until recently. I setup a wireless network in the house to do this. All was fine until 3 days ago.I use a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7. I have a Dell Wireless 1397 Minicard, a cisco router (model #2425). Since my laptop was infected by Malware, my network has not worked since. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware to get rid of it and it appeared to work. I got internet access back. However, I still cannot connect to my network (visible in the Available Network list as normal) or stream any media.Windows Media Centre also has stopped opening and gives me the small box saying 'windows is checking for a solution', then closes with nothing. I can however open WMC if I right click and 'run as administrator'?! I have disabled all other network adaptors, only the Dell minicad is enabled and also tried disabling and enabling this main one with no effect. All problems point to the fact that my laptop can no longer connect to the home network but I cant figure out why?!Another (possibly unrelated) problem is occuring at boot up where I get an error message saying 'Bluetooth Software License not found. [2]' - Again this never happened before the Malware infection.

Home Network Refuses To Connect PCs?

Jul 31, 2011

I have a Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, and a Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 that I am attempting to connect to each other on my home network. Their WorkGroup is the same name, and on the Vista, and 7, the locations are a home network. Sometimes I see one computer on the other, but then if clicked, it wont connect and gives me a Cannot connect or computername-PC not found. That, or my computers will not show up on one another. I also have McAfee Total Protection with a Home Network option to 'Trust' each PC to be able to connect them in a network within McAfee and scan each one for virus protection. That will not work either. It did once, but not now. All McAfee versions are up to date yet I see on some devices when they sometimes show up on McAfee that the program on the other computer is an older version. Then, when I do get the option to send a request to 'Trust' another PC, I'll enter a password to be re-entered in the other computer, then it'll instruct me to enter it into that other computer but then it fails before I can do so. It'll say the other computer is not available.

Laptop Will Connect To Every Network Except Home

Sep 12, 2012

My laptop can no longer connect to my home network. It used to connect fine, but I was having problems with my graphics card as every time I went on Youtube it would crash. As a result, I sent it into ASUS (it is an ASUS K52J Series) and got the motherboard and the hard drive replaced. After this, my laptop seemed to be working great. It connected to a variety of networks, including 3 home networks, and 2 public networks. However, it cannot connect to the network in my apartment.

I know this network works and is connectable as my roommate's laptop works perfectly fine. So I know it is not a problem with my laptop since it connects to other networks, and I know it is not the network since other laptops connect to it. I've tried resetting my adapter, I've tried turning off the firewall. Also, I've tried the trouble shooting option numerous times after trying a variety of things that usually fix the connectivity, but it always says that the problem cannot be detected.

It's starting to be really frustrating, especially since I'm in university and sharing a laptop when both my roommate and I need to do work is not convenient.

Our landlord provides the internet, and we have the base router(not wireless) in our basement. But even when plugging into the wall with a ethernet chord I get local only. For a little background, my son installed a router for a couple of months and when he disconnected his computer I lost connectivity with my desktop. The router is gone, I am directly connected to the modem. Seems like the ip address reverts back to the address that the router assigned for 30 seconds then to 169. ........ I have tried all sorts of fixes that I have found on the net, but none have worked. Have changed modems, ethernet cables, ISP has also tried but nothing has worked.

Unable To Connect To Internet With New Home Hub?

Dec 25, 2011

After recently having a new BT home hub 3.0 installed in our house my computer is unable to connect to the internet. Everything else connects laptops, PlayStation, iPod's just this one computer doesn't.

When the computer is turned on the wireless connection manager says that it is connected and then very quickly loses it again. After reconnecting the computer and trying to go on the internet, explorer says that it is not connected and i can not go to any websites.

Leaving the computer running, the wireless network establishes a link, with full signal strength and then loses it again just as quick. This will just continue for as long as the computer is on.

Computers is not a strength of mine but when trying to repair the connection the computer stops at 'renewing IP address' and does nothing. The only other message i have seen is- 'status: acquiring network address' this never completes and the link is quickly lost.

Guys I want to connect most of my home to a single router located in basement.I got the router from ISP and hooked it with one of those devices that transmit Ethernet via electricity and in the ground floor I hooked WRT54g to the other device (electricity transmitter) and configured WRT with the following:Disabled DHCP so it will be done by the router.

SSID: MainHomeWAN
Security: WPA Shared.
Channel: 11

On the first floor I hooked the WAP54g and configured it as wireless bridge with the same as above and entered the MAC address of WRT device. The only difference is the channel is 6.In ground floor the signal is great but on first is not because it doesn't get an IP and even if it gets one it losses is soon. So I turned WAP device and I got stale connection but very poor.
