My house is a two story bldg n my room is upstairs. I got my ipod, playstation 3 and laptop all hooked up plus another one downstairs.. The thing is when all of these are working at the same time i cant seem to play call of duty online (example) is there any way i can speed up my connection so all devices work at the same pace? Uploads are 2Mbps either way. I have a WRT54GS v.6 with firmware version v1.52.8 which I updated today, completed by setting factory default through the router webpage after I discovered this discrepancy. The firmware update did not improve the download speed appreciably, if at all.Should the wireless connection be that much slower than the wired connection through the router? If not, what sort of issues could I be having to account for this?
I did just replace my modem when I discovered I was having erratic speedtests and that corrected that problem. That is when I became aware of the wireless issue, so not sure how long that has been the case. I have Charter's 16/2 HSI, living in a sparsely populated area with solid internet service. There is no external nor internal interference on this 2.4Ghz band.

It will see all the available wifi networks, and will even connect to the network, but no internet. I have used google and tried several solutions but to no avail. Also, just fyi, i currently have my desktop hardwired to router, and another laptop, ipad, ps3, wii, droid bionic and a couple of netbooks that all can connect to the router using wifi with no problem what so ever. I have created a virtual WiFi hotspot in win 7 laptop with following commands. netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=wii key=abcd1234 Now there is a 'Wireless Network Connection 2'(MS virtual WiFi miniport adapter) in my network connections. netsh wlan start hostednetwork WiFi hotspot started and visible in my other wifi device. But the device shows limited connectivity and i can not use internet not even local access to laptop.
My observations - I found that the IP address and DNS of WiFi miniport adapter is 192.168.11.1 But the IP assigned to my other device is 169.XXX.XX.XX which is not in same subnet
So how to set the WiFi miniport adapter of my laptop to assign proper IP address(within subnet) to my other device. So that i can get rid of LIMITED CONNECTIVITY ISSUE .

I have owned the TL-MR3420 for about six months and never had any problems with it, 3G connection stable enough and wifi and LAN worked properly without any drops.About one week ago I started experiencing problems. Both wifi and LAN gets disabled and I need to pull the plug and do a hard reset to correct the issue. This only happens after some heavy use, many devices is connected to Wifi, streaming files over the WIfi and so on. A scenario may be the following; there are six devices back home using all using wifi. All of them are not connected at the same time, but four may be; usually three computers and one tablet. The HTPC may do some heavy videostreaming from another computer. When the streaming is over, some devices are shut down then I may lose the WIFI and LAN ability of the router.
I have tried connecting with cable after wifi were lost but no IP address where given to it and connection where refused. This means I have no possibility to access the log file in the router, and after reboot the log file is reset. Router settings is pretty much default.Is my device broken or is there any setting I may tweak with?I have updated to latest firmware and tried to change channel without success.

I'm using this router for connecting 2 PCs, one lap top and few mobiles.The LAN network is always stable and never loses connection, but I'm having problems with the wireless connection. My lap top runs on wireless, and 3 Android mobiles, an xperia mini pro (problematic), xperia Tipo and Alcatel OT-908F. Almost always when I login to facebook on any of the mobiles, pictures won't show, and also youtube videos thumbnails won't show. On the xperia mini pro after 2-3 minutes of surfing, or doing anything else the connection drops, and then the mobiles can't see the wireless connection. My lap top can see it, but it cannot connect. After restarting the router everything is back to normal.
I am having problems with connectivity and my iPhone 5. The Wi-Fi is okay in some parts of my home network, however in others it is abysmmal. When I bring my computer to the places where the iPhone has problems with signal strength/staying connected the computers have full or almost full strength and no problems. I upgraded firmware for the router, spoke with applecare, have reset the router multiple times, and have been trying different channels. I had the phone in with the Apple store where they concluded nothing seems wrong with the hardware. The phone doesn't seem to have problems like this on other wifi networks I have tried. Using a speed test on the iPhone at home in the low connectivity areas results in horrendously poor latency numbers.

I have a CISCO RV220W Wireless router, running the latest firmware (1.0.1.0) and CISCO's AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v3.0.2052, and Windows 7, 64 bit. My laptop is a corporate based work laptop, and I am trying to use it to connect to my home network ( CISCO RV 220W ).
When I try to connect my PC via the wireless network (to the CISCO Router), via CISCO's AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, the WiFi connection never actually takes place - rather the CISCO AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client s/w interface suggests that it is "associating" and seems to go into an endless loop. It never receives a DHCP address from the CISCO router. ( see attached picture ).
If I disable the "Cisco AnyConnect Network Access Manager" service, as well as the "Cisco AnyConnect Network Access Manager Logon Module" service within Windows 7, I have no problems establishing a WiFi network with my CISCO router via the traditional Windows approach of connecting to a WiFi network. The inability to connect wirelessly comes back, when these services are re-enabled. It appears to me (a layman) as if the "Network Access Manager" layer is preventing connection to the CISCO router via WiFi.
I have no problems connecting to the CISCO router using CISCO AnyConnect Secure Mobile client over a physical Ethernet cable. I also have a Belkin branded Wireless router that works perfectly with the CISCO AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. All of the wireless settings on the CISCO RV220W router are factory default.
how I can get the CISCO AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to play nicely with the CISCO Router when I wish to establish a WiFi connection?
I have also attached the Windows based Event Log associated with this trouble shooting - associated with the "Network Access Manager" logging. SSID C&C@Home is the CISCO Router, whilst SSID Cam@Home is the Belkin wireless router.
I updated the fimware on my WRT160N v3 and followed it up with a reset of the router. I then restored the router settings that I had saved. All the settings appeared to be good, but none of my wireless devices would connect. I reneted the pass phrases (WPA2) but still nothing. Tried to change the passphrase, still no good. I then did a factory reset of the router from the setiings page and manually re-entered and save the settings, again nothing. All of my devices are able to "see" the network and the correct SSID.

The media player has ports for USB and ethernet hard drive connections.Basically what I'm looking for is a way to convert the wireless signal in my living room into a physical connection (ethernet cable) which I can plug into my PBO and watch high def (720p+ resolution) videos from my desktop.
I know that a USB wifi adapter would be simpler, but there's one thing I'm trying to determine before I buy: bottlenecking. I crunched the numbers (not quite sure how accurately mind you haha), and here's what I saw - a recent bandwidth test (using my desktop) reported my upload speed around 3000kpbs (375KB/s), whereas the sustained speed of USB 2.0 is reportedly anywhere from 5MB/s to 15MB/s (way higher).
Just upgraded to the 30mb cable modem. When I hook my laptop up via cat5 and run a test I get like 28mbps. Via my router I only get like 11mbps tops. What do I need to do to get more speed via router?

The only place in the trailer where I can "see" my home network is the kitchen window, and I thought about putting a Wi-Fi repeater there to extend the home network into the trailer. But I have read that using a repeater will cut the network's Wi-Fi throughput in half -- which would not please my wife and daughters back at the house. Is there a simple, relatively inexpensive way to extend the network to the trailer without slowing everything down? Eventually I may have Charter install a separate cable hookup there, which would allow a separate high-speed Internet connection too. For now, I just want to "share" Wi-Fi to the trailer.

Sometimes it even cuts off the internet during a session, without me even disconnecting from the wifi network, where I would again need to switch back and forth to the 2 or 4 ending!
