my linksys e3000 router loses connection quite often. E.G. we lost power last night and i tried resetting the router but it didnt work so I had to uninstall and then reinstall the router. A few other times it would lose connection for no apparent reason.
View 8 RepliesI have several computers and printers connected to a WRT120N router which is connected to 10mpbs DSL. The computers are all running WIN7 and are hardwired to the router. On the one PC, it keeps losing network connection. I've tried upgrading the router's firmware, reset, etc. to no avail.
I think it may be related to the same IP address being assigned to multiple machines connected to the router. Is there a way to set specific IP addresses to each item connected to the router to see?
have a HP 6500a All In One Printer in the network with a BERSR41 V3 router. I am using a Imac with this sytem for printing and scanning. For some reason I keep loosing the printer when I try to scan? I have it set to a static IP, and can not ping it, but can access the printer throught the network with the HP Utility. Am I missing something in setup on the router that causes it to keep loosing connection?

It seems to coincide with this date that I keep loosing my internet connection on a regular basis, say every 2 days or so, but not consistent. The cure is to unplug the linksys WAG200G ADSL home gateway. Plug it in again and all is well, until the next time. On the box it says the until is ADSL2/2+ compliant.

When the modem looses connection to the Internet; the DSL Noise Margin drops way down to 0.0 or 0.5.
My Cisco X3000 keeps loosing the internet connection after 1 day and will only reconnect if the device is rebooted. View 9 Replies View RelatedI had the WAP610N for a few months with no issues. As always, I have a custom SSID and password, using WPA2. All of a sudden, none of my mobile units (at least 5) are unable to connect via the WAP610N. However, I can connect to a Netgear N750 w/o any issues. When I reboot the WAP610N, it resolves the issue for a few minutes, but then behaves the same as before. I know its not my network because, I am able to connect via wired and wireless via the Netgear. I verified via the web interface that none of the settings/configurations have changed - but still nothing. Latest firmware has been applied. Note sure If I should perform a factory reset or re-apply the firmware.

The router seems to lose connection frequently. Is there a setting in the expander that will allow the expander to "follow" the DHCP address of the router without having to take it down and go thru the setup each time.

- Connected the DCS 2121 wireless to my Belkin Router with a fixed IP address. Firmware version 1.4 is installed on the camera.
- I have a Synology 209 NAS server with surveillance station that I have connected to the Camera.
I all works fine for 5 minutes to a couple of hours at which point the DCS 2121 loose connection to the Router and does not try to reconnect. If I turn the Cam on and off it will reconnect - and then loose connection again af a short time.This is totally frustrating since the purpose of the Cam is to work as a surveillance cam - it kinda loose its value by not being connected...
My E3000 looses connection whenever any other computer connects whether it is a wired or wireless computer, IPAD, Mac, or anything else we have. It goes on and off any time two have connected and when it works it is very slow once another machine connects. Eventually it makes my network completely shut down.

My room is about 25-30 feet away from my router and I've been getting a low wifi connection in the last month. I get an average connection on my laptop and a very low connection on my Xbox, both of which are in my room. My question is, what could I do to increase the reception in my room? My bad for not taking the time to think I would have to search this website to find the short list of external USB drives that will work with the E3000.All I wanted to do was store my media files on a shared network drive. I am cheating the system now and using a shared drive on the main PC. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen connecting wirelessly (5GHz) to the E3000 after a day or so the wireless connection starts loosing speed. I have Comcast and usually get 20-30 MB download connections. After a day or so I start to lose speed (down to 5MB) until I reboot the E3000. Then I resume 20-30MB download connections. My wired connections appear fine and don’t experience the slow down. The wireless slow down seems similar to the old memory leak condition of old Windows OS’s. Called Cisco and they don’t have an idea. They had me change a few settings (channel info) but I’m pretty technical and don’t feel that will fix it.
I just bought a new E3000 router less than 2 weeks ago. I spent hours with my tech guy setting up the router so that I was getting excellent internet speed and the connection between my computer and my nas was maximized. In the process of setting up the router my laptop (Windows 7) and the basement laptop (Vista) were set up to access the router. Both work perfectly.These are now the only two devices in the house that can get internet access.The other devices that should connect are:
-2 Laptops (both Vista)
-1 iPhone 4
-2 iPhone 3gs
-1 Printer
I can't get them to connect. I spent an hour with a guy at Cisco tonight who just couldn't seem to get past the idea that it was not the laptop that was the problem.
My main Internet connection is a frontier modem /router It is on the main level of the house. In the basement I am trying to set up the cisco E3000 through an Ethernet cable.

But this last week, when ever I wake my monitor up after it's power saving mode kicks in, I lose my internet connection for about 15 seconds. If you look at the router before the monitor is on, I am connected. The light is on for port 1. But as soon as my monitor gets turned back on, it light just turns off and will reconnect after about 15 seconds. I've looked it up online and can only find things about when the entire system wakes up, and usually those people have to reboot their entire system to get a connection again, or turn the router off then back on. Using Windows 7?

My desktop is connected to my router via ethernet and my various other devices including my laptop are wifi connected. It seems almost at random that my desktop will lose its connection.Windows will show me as still being connected and my network connection will show a normal status until I atttempt to repair it then it will change to limited or no connectivity. Through all of this, my other devices all still have a wifi signal (I don't use more than 1 or 2 at the same time). I can reconnect to the internet by unplugging my ethernet cable then reuplugging it back in and my connection will start working again. I've also had several blue screens, and when I checked the dmp files it revealed my network card driver as the culprit, yet I have reinstalled and even clean installed the microsoft signed driver. I have also attempted to reboot both my modem and router to no avail.

i've 8GB Sandisc flash drive connected. it works briefly, then it's lost from the the newtwork and i don't see it until i do a power cycle on the router.
i can see it fine in the setup page, but it's not visible on the network.
I have the E4200v1 and if I remember correctly I think its on 1.0.0.3 (cant remember because I went back to my wndr3700). I had not had any problems with it until yesterday when I returned to playing The Hunter (first time playing it on the E4200) and my girl hollered upstairs saying that she lost connection on the laptop. I reset the router and she reconnected and I went back to playing the game. 2 minutes later she hollers again. I stopped playing the game to try to figure out the wireless issue and everything looked normal. No more loss connections for the next few hours..........Until I started playing the game again...so I took it out of line and put the 3700 back in line and played the game for hours with no connection drop to the wireless. Is this a knows issue on the 4200? Are some setting changes necessary to game on it? btw I was playing the game wired and it didnt effect the connection at all?

This requires a reboot of the router 2-3 times a day. Never experienced any of these problems with a Linksys WRT54G, a unit that this one replaced. Unless I can resolve it, the WRT54G is going back in, and WRT160N is going back.

I set up a unique SSID and passphrase (WPA2) for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. My XBOX could connect to the 2.4GHz band network and could connect to XBOX Live. But when I configured all the settings and tried to connect to the 5GHz band network, but no luck. My XBOX just said it failed to connect. I was sure that I did type in the SSID and passphrase correctly. I still cannot figure out what went wrong. I even suspected either the wireless adapter or the router malfunctioned.
