I'm still able to connect with my iPad and iPod. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter however this fails to successfully install. I've searched for hours but can't find a solution. I'm also unable to reset the router etc because I live in china and the router is in a roommates room whose door is locked.

I have tried a lot of things which actually worked but only for a limited amount of time. Lately I had been lucky to get my hands on some cmd commands which were abletil I restarted the laptop, I then performed the following commands every time I started the laptop: netsh winsock reset catalog, netsh int ipv(ip, ipv4 and ipv6) reset reset.log.I also tried ipconfig/flushdns which worked for like 5 seconds, they worked only for 1 week. I have 1 computer and 2 laptops, the computer can connect and browse my sisters laptop too but my one not. My service seems fine as my cable/VOIP telephone/wifi work great. I'm not sure how to detect my ISP settings. In 'device manager' it shows that the teredo tunneling adapter will not start. I don't know what that is or if its important here.

A few days ago my internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged in the ethernet cord and everything worked fine. Checking the properties in the device manager showed the device was working properly, I also tried resetting it to make sure it was enabled but it did not work.
Upon troubleshooting, the "Windows Network Diagnostic" said the problems was that the Wireless adapter was not turned on. Using the switch on the front of the laptop as well as the function keys does nothing. Usually a graphic pops up showing if the WiFi is on or off, changinging transparent to show the WiFi is disabled. Now when I turn the switch on it always appears transparent, effectively going from off to off
So I know the computer reads both the function keys and the switch on the front but both methods never actually turns the adapter on. I just finished a system restore and nothing has changed

The rest of the time I switch over to a tethered 4G connection, having to change the proxy configuration in my browser(s). I use both IE and Firefox. I know that the laptop connects to both networks simultaneously, but the Ethernet connection is given priority when connected. Is there a way to have say my Firefox browser configured to use the tethered connection using no proxy, while simultaneously having my IE use the Ethernet connection with the proxy configuration?

Dec 19, 2012Earlier my desktop was to b in d same place where the router was der. Everything worked fine. Now I decided to shift my desktop to another room. I have kept the router at the earlier place only. I have brought a 25m long new cat 5 cable. When I connected it to my desktop, the orange led on ethernet port do not light up and the desktop is unable to detect the ethernet cable and hence the internet connection. On the router, a light of ethernet keeps on blinking every 1 second. I was worried whether my ethernet port got fried. So i inserted another ethernet cable, but then the ethernet orange light came and the pc detedted the connection. Therefore I thought the cable might be faulty. Therefore I connected my laptop with that 25m cable. But my laptop detected it and showed the internet connection. But now when i again connect the cable to my desktop, there's no light and the pc does not detect it. However, if i connect the 25m cable to my desktop then during boot the ethernet light on router is stable just as when it is normally connected to the internet. But when i go into windows it starts blinking every 1 second.

Apr 3, 2011Had a look inside my HP Pavilion p6685l recently and found there wasn't any wifi card which was odd because it's been working fine for months.Device Manager says theres a 802.11n Wireless Lan Card in there but I traced the wires from the ariel to a chip on the board (MSI 2A9C according to Belarc ). Property sheet says it's a Ralink Card and so does the vendor id ( 1814 ) but the device id (3092) belongs to an Intel I20 1.5 Raid Controller which is where I got lost. I didn't know Raid Controllers did wifi.

Jun 4, 2012I have a weird problem with my home network that I'm unable to fix:I have 2 laptops (Lenovo and HP) both connect to the wireless network and show up as Local & Internet connected on the Windows 7 OS. Both can ping to an outside network with domain names but no pages open on the browser. There's no error displayed on the browser, the page just tries to keep loading. When I connect both these laptops over the wire, I'm able to browse through all pages easily. I also have 2 phones connected to the same wireless network and I can browse over internet without any problems.
