During the upgrade of my itunes/iphone to ios and iCloud, IE suddenly stopped working and hasn't worked since. I keep getting a message saying there is a problem with it and if Windows finds a solution, i will be notified.It's hard to troubleshoot because I can't get on the internet with that PC.It's running Windows 7.

- programs like skype or Y!Messenger work fine
- I did a system restore and nothing
- I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox (that's my main browser, but IE and chrome don't launch either)
- the process shows up for a few seconds in task manager and then just disappears
- sometimes the browser opens but closes itself in less than a second
- I ran a scan with Malwarebyte&Antimalware and nothing shows up
I live on residence at college. I started having internet problems (slow, choppy, cutting out) that eventually stopped a few days ago. Then recently (yesterday) The internet stopped working for everything but my browsers and Norton Internet Security. Steam, DC++, even Adobe updater can't connect. I have booted in safe mode (with networking) and had the same problem.

Strangely enough, I can use MSN and Skype, but Steam won't connect.I've tried to system restore just to the point before I installed the update, but it failed. Windows blamed it on an anti-virus program. Turned it off, and system restore still won't work. Uninstalled the new updates, but nothing has changed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem with my home network that I'm unable to fix:I have 2 laptops (Lenovo and HP) both connect to the wireless network and show up as Local & Internet connected on the Windows 7 OS. Both can ping to an outside network with domain names but no pages open on the browser. There's no error displayed on the browser, the page just tries to keep loading. When I connect both these laptops over the wire, I'm able to browse through all pages easily. I also have 2 phones connected to the same wireless network and I can browse over internet without any problems.

I've confirmed that I am indeed connected to the internet (I know this because, for example, I have no problem at all downloading games via Steam). For some reason, though, when it comes to surfing the web using a browser it's as if I'm not connected (even Steam can't load the Store page, I can only download games via the Library).I moved an infection a week or two ago, and I suspect it altered something that is causing this issue. I did get some advice to open the browser and go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings and make sure "Automatically detect settings" was checked, and "Use proxy server for your LAN" was not checked.I did this, and in fact "Use proxy server" WAS checked while Automatically detect settings" WAS NOT checked.

I have 2 PCs at home, 1 desktop, 1 laptop both running XP SP2, and both hardwired to a DSL router. Last night, all was well, both machines working ok. This morning both machine have the same problem; IE and FF are unable to connect to the internet. Same goes for my smartphone; it can connect to the WiFi network but is unable to browse internet. Funny thing is, I have a stand alone IPphone connected to the same router and it works fine. Both PCs can run Torrent client, I see traffic on "peerblock" but google or hotmail just won't show up either with FF or IE

Uninstalled and reinstalled both, even going back a couple of versions and still nothing. I know I'm connected as my iPhone works fine. With this in mind, I tried opening up safari to see what that would do and to my supprise, it works fine, bit slow but still, at least it works. So now I defiantly know that the Internet is working.

The internet still works in safe mode with networking, and Windows can't find a problem at all. I've run Avast and Spybot in safe and normal mode and they can't find anything. Reset the browsers and my IP address. Friend downloaded Winsockfixer or something and that didn't work either. I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall Windows? the computer in question has had repeated problems and various hardware issues and has been sent out for repair on more than one occasion all for non software related issues, i take care of software issues and diagnose hardware problems and i have done so without a hitch until now.
when the problem first started happening i would do a system restore to a point were it was working, but that does not seem to be working anymore
i have tried disabling firewalls [she uses AVG internet security edition which is on all of her computers], windows firewall, disabling and re-enabling network drivers, updating drivers, installing different and previous versions of browsers
Recently, I have had issues with several Internet browsers. All, return with cannot locate remote server issue. I've flushed the DNS through command, and have turned on/off the firewall, reset the network connections, reset the router, uninstalled mozilla, IE, chrome, and opera, and still haven't been able to get any resolutions. I have a bare minimum connection at the moment.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I boot up my computer, everything will be working fine for about 5 -10 minutes, but after this, all my browsers will lose connection to the Internet. All of them: IE, firefox, chrome, even the steam browser, all of them just lose connection.The weird thing is, my net connection is perfectly fine: I can still play online games, still use online chat services, still open and use programs like utorrent. I'm trying to setup a new Cisco ASA 5505. I performed the "config factory-default" command and subsequently pulled an IP from my ASA. However, I am unable to pull up the ASDM GUI launch page using IE9, Google Chrome, or Firefox using my Windows 7 computer. Using Wireshark, I can see that I'm getting a TLSv1 handshake failure.I fired up a Windows XP VM inside of Virtual Box to see if it would work better. Turns out my XP VM with IE 8 pulls up the ASDM launch page without a problem. why my Windows 7 system can't pull up the ASDM launch page?

i just installed ACS 5.1.0.44 with the latest Patch on a VMWare virtual machine and installed the evaluation license.Everything works fine except for the "Monitoring & Report Viewer"-Tab:When i try to launch the Viewer, it opens a new browser-window/tab, which then again opens another (the same) window/tab, and so on and on. So there would be an infinite number of windows/tabs, if i wouldn't close them all real quickly. Same problem with any client and any browser.I already deinstalled ACS 5.1 and tried ACS 5.2 on the same machine -> same problem.
