IE and Firefox both refused to load my homepage (google) or any other page in my bookmarks. Uninstalled and reinstalled both, even going back a couple of versions and still nothing. I know I'm connected as my iPhone works fine. With this in mind, I tried opening up safari to see what that would do and to my supprise, it works fine, bit slow but still, at least it works. So now I defiantly know that the Internet is working.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThey all just decide to not load pages fairly often. It happens on my netbook and PC, has been going on for like a year. Formatted each pc at least once since it started. It's really annoying. It's been awhile since I used firefox so I dont remember that error message but Chrome gives me the sad face with the x's in it's eyes and says oops I cannot load the page. On pages that auto refresh it happens ALOT. Once I click the refresh button once or twice it loads it fine. My HTC EVO doesnt have any trouble with the internet when I have it connected to my router. The operating system is Windows 7.

When i start up the computer it says that I am connected but when i try to access the internet it won't load. I have tried doing a virus scan and i have tried using other browsers but i still can't figure out how to fix it. Also, it works when I plug an ethernet cable into the wall but as soon as i take it out it stops working.

I've had problems with my net connection at home, Skype is working; at least just for IM, i haven't tried phone / web cam functions, but nothing else will, Firefox / IE can't load any pages, Live Messenger won't sign in, etc etc. I've had a few phone calls with my ISP who ended up running a line test and they insist that everything there end is fine.

I am trying to fix my mycomputer, which seems to ok except that it cannot connect to the internet. The connection is wired and works fine (my another computer, next to my computer works well). I have tried another wire connection at local cyber cafe, it worked fine there.

Strangely enough, I can use MSN and Skype, but Steam won't connect.I've tried to system restore just to the point before I installed the update, but it failed. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem with my home network that I'm unable to fix:I have 2 laptops (Lenovo and HP) both connect to the wireless network and show up as Local & Internet connected on the Windows 7 OS. Both can ping to an outside network with domain names but no pages open on the browser. There's no error displayed on the browser, the page just tries to keep loading. When I connect both these laptops over the wire, I'm able to browse through all pages easily. I also have 2 phones connected to the same wireless network and I can browse over internet without any problems.

I've confirmed that I am indeed connected to the internet (I know this because, for example, I have no problem at all downloading games via Steam). For some reason, though, when it comes to surfing the web using a browser it's as if I'm not connected (even Steam can't load the Store page, I can only download games via the Library).I moved an infection a week or two ago, and I suspect it altered something that is causing this issue. I did get some advice to open the browser and go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings and make sure "Automatically detect settings" was checked, and "Use proxy server for your LAN" was not checked.I did this, and in fact "Use proxy server" WAS checked while Automatically detect settings" WAS NOT checked.

I have 2 PCs at home, 1 desktop, 1 laptop both running XP SP2, and both hardwired to a DSL router. Last night, all was well, both machines working ok. This morning both machine have the same problem; IE and FF are unable to connect to the internet. Same goes for my smartphone; it can connect to the WiFi network but is unable to browse internet. Funny thing is, I have a stand alone IPphone connected to the same router and it works fine. Both PCs can run Torrent client, I see traffic on "peerblock" but google or hotmail just won't show up either with FF or IE

the computer in question has had repeated problems and various hardware issues and has been sent out for repair on more than one occasion all for non software related issues, i take care of software issues and diagnose hardware problems and i have done so without a hitch until now.
when the problem first started happening i would do a system restore to a point were it was working, but that does not seem to be working anymore
i have tried disabling firewalls [she uses AVG internet security edition which is on all of her computers], windows firewall, disabling and re-enabling network drivers, updating drivers, installing different and previous versions of browsers
Recently, I have had issues with several Internet browsers. All, return with cannot locate remote server issue. I've flushed the DNS through command, and have turned on/off the firewall, reset the network connections, reset the router, uninstalled mozilla, IE, chrome, and opera, and still haven't been able to get any resolutions. I have a bare minimum connection at the moment.

Router?The house has three active laptops, all of which are working perfectly fine. This new computer,however, is a desktop, and I am trying to connect to my house's internet through a USB stick device that transmits the signal (D-link, model DWA-110). I know for a fact that this device works for two reasons. Firstly, I've used it in another laptop, and more strangely, it works on this new computer sometimes too.After about half an hour of random methods to make a connection stick, it might connect.
