Cisco vpn client 5.0.07.0410 on windows 7 PC does not show application window, minimizes to tray and does not launch and hard to figure what is wrong with application . tried re-installation and changing with different version of Cisco VPN client same issues is noticed on the PC.

The client works perfect with windows XP, we have a ASA 5510 Version 8.2(2) is in routed Mode
This is terminating on an ASA c5510 sec+ running 8.3(2) Client devices running XP with the same VPN client get an address from the ASA pool e.g. 10.10.50.1 with no default gateway. Users are able to connect without a problem. Windows 7 (32bit) clients with this same VPN client get this address but get a default gateway 10.10.50.2 and are unable to connect for obvious reasons.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had the VPN client operational on my Windows 7 32-bit laptop for many months without issue, but suddenly it became invisible. Launching it, there is no GUI displayed. When I click on the taskbar icon, nothing, click again, nothing. That said, when I know it should be visible on the screen in the foreground, I can press enter and get the default connection to connect! I can see status, log window, About, but no main window. It's there, but perfectly transparent or something. There is no other monitor or shadow monitor it could be hiding on, nor is it shoved off to a periphery of the display somewhere. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. I'm not aware of any display related updates to my machine.

However, I am unable to pull up the ASDM GUI launch page using IE9, Google Chrome, or Firefox using my Windows 7 computer. Using Wireshark, I can see that I'm getting a TLSv1 handshake failure.I fired up a Windows XP VM inside of Virtual Box to see if it would work better. Turns out my XP VM with IE 8 pulls up the ASDM launch page without a problem. why my Windows 7 system can't pull up the ASDM launch page?

i just installed ACS 5.1.0.44 with the latest Patch on a VMWare virtual machine and installed the evaluation license.Everything works fine except for the "Monitoring & Report Viewer"-Tab:When i try to launch the Viewer, it opens a new browser-window/tab, which then again opens another (the same) window/tab, and so on and on. So there would be an infinite number of windows/tabs, if i wouldn't close them all real quickly. Same problem with any client and any browser.I already deinstalled ACS 5.1 and tried ACS 5.2 on the same machine -> same problem.

I installed on 2 different PCs (Win7 64-bit) the Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07 with the same VPN profile for 2 different users. We use an ASA5505 (8.0(5) sec plus license) as the VPN end point for the clients. The VPN Clients can connect simultaneously to the ASA, they receive the split tunnel infos but only ONE client can ping the internal network ip range. The other one has no access to the internal resources! When they separately try to connect, there is no problem. Each of them can reach the internal net.On other 2 PCs (Win 7 32-bit) the clients have no problem reaching the internal net (simultaneously connect).

There is no problem with users who are using 3.5.1 and 5.0(64 bit), but 4.8 and 5.0 (32 bit) vpn clients can not add ARP entry to Windows machines ARP table. If i add ARP entry for x.x.x.255 on VPN interface, they can work.
I've just purchased a SRP527w router and loaded the new firmware which includes the 5 client VPN server function.
The function works great with my iPhone as a client, but I've been unable to make a connection from my Windows 7 laptop, as the built in VPN configuration doesn't have anywhere to put the group name.

The organization that I worked for purchased large number of Cisco Secure Services Client Licenses for Windows XP. Now they have plans to move to Windows 7. Reading different discussions, I know that SSC ver 5.1 does not work with Windows 7. My questions are:
1) Will there be a new SSC for Windows 7? Will we be able to configure the pre-package for installation with the new SSC?
2) Can we use the existing SSC ver 5 licenses with the new SSC for Win 7?

We are upgrading from the old anyconnect 2.4 client so there are many changes that are catching us by surprise. The biggest issue I have right now is that the new Mobility VPN launches automatically when a user signs into a machine. We would like to disable that automatic connection/launch feature. With the old 2.4 client we simply disabled the AnyConnect Service in Services.msc by default and started it up when a user was ready to connect.
