Mar 21, 2012
I have set up our network with an RV220W as gateway/Wifi-AP,VPN host.I am able to connect over the WWW with the windows 7 client laptops no problem, BUT ,I cannot from my office reach out to the laptops, it seems as if the tunnel is one way.The users can do anything they need, but I want to be able to connect to them to update their AVG or render remote assistance etc.Ping from client to home network no problem.Client laptop is invisible to any ping etc FROM the home network.

I have created a connection gateway-to-gateway between RV220W and RVL200, is doing without any problems. For example, I can ping the gateway on the other side. But when I connect trough RV220W QuickVPN (or PPTP) I can not reach the gateway (RVL200) or any host behind it.

My ISP waits a definite host name from me to return my white IP address via DHCP. Can I set this parameter in RV220W router? I don't find such parameter in IPv4 WAN configuration page.

I have recently separated a few sites that I operate, into multiple virtual machines, all with their own IP.Basically, site A is located on for instance www.siteA.com, Site B is located on blog.domain.com etc etc. So my question is, how do I (with the Cisco RV220W), forward port 80 based on host?[URL]

I am a real amateur here. I have configured a cisco VPN server, group and user on an SRP527W, ADSL2+ AnnexA, 802.11n ETSI, 2FXS/1FXO. I can connect from my PC with the Cicso VPN client on it (I get the banner) but I cannot ping into the local network at all. Once I do get in I will be using shares to work on files or VNC to take over a CAD workstation.I am sure I just have not set up something but I don't know where to look. My local network is 192.168.15.***

I am using a 1811W and CCP for configuration. I am trying to assign client names to devices on the LAN so that when a network scanner is used, the client name is displayed. I have attached part of the running config after a binding has been done. My assumption is that the scanner should now show 192.168.1.109 as name <Supermicro>, but the name is blank. Is this configured correctly for what I am trying to acheive?

At work my desktop pc is a Novell client with WinXP. I wanted to use it a an ics host so I'd be able to connect my laptop to it with a cross wire so both computers could surf simultaneously using one source connection.I should probably note that I only have user privileges on my desktop and no admin privileges on it. It is my workplace policy so people don't install software that might end up being malicious. We also have Wifi at work but my at my office I have a low signal (1-2 bars) so I can disconnect my desktop, copy it's MAC address to my laptop and surf with my laptop instead. However, I need both computers, the desktop for work and PC for personal use.

Initial setup with RV220W completed without difficulty,Need to set up static IP for one of the machines in the LAN (not static IP for WAN),I presume I use the static DHCP option, which allows me to select a particular IP for the machine I select based on it's MAC,1. My confusion stems from the manual stating that "the IP address that you pick should be outside the DHCP address range specified on the Networking> LAN(local network)>IPV4(local network)page".,Does that mean that the range on the IPV4 local network page should be modified to exclude the IP address that I want to use for the static IP..e.g. change the range from 1-255 to 1-200 and then use an IP of XXX.XXX.X.201 for instanceor does that mean that as soon as I choose an IP on the Static DHCP page, that if will reserved for use only on that machine and not used for another machine on the LAN, without me having to do something else to exclude it's use (i.e. does reserving a static IP automatically remove it from the range of IPs available to other machines)If I simply set a static IP on the local machine by going to "change network adapter" settings, what's the liklihood that the router might use the same IP on another machine.

I'm wondering if it's possible to setup SSL VPN connection via OPEN VPN client?I'm a Mac OS 1.7 user with Tunnelblick.
I tried to use "built-in" SSL VPN Tunnel client but unfortunately it's not working - during installation Java exception appears saying that either I don't have admin privileges or there is not enough space.. Of course I'm admin and there is plenty of space...

In the past few days I have seen an odd named Client Host "The-Britannic" show up on my DHCP Active IP Table list. There is no device (that I'm aware of) with that name on my network. I delete it but it reappears, and is linked to the same IP (192.168.1.101) and MAC address everytime, so it appears to be a legitimate device. Although it looks like a legitimate device, it's not - so far as I know. I have added the MAC address to the blocked list (internet access / access restriction) to see if I or anyone in-house losese internet connectivity on any. So far, no. Searching various malware and spyware sites turn up nothing.
I realize the IP address is assigned by the router through the automatic DHCP assignement process. I do not broadcast my SSID and have a complex passcode assigned to both the wireless and internal network. Of course, that is no 100% guarentee that someone has not gotten in.I'm running a WRT54GL, all Windows 7 PC's on a home built network. I'll probably change all the passcodes (wireless and Windows Home Network) to see if that disallows access.

I have 3 computers connected to the same home network. i name them XP1, XP2, and win7. obvious from the names, two pcs are running xp and one is running win7. I shared all three in the network. XP1 uses static local ip while XP2 and win7 use dynamic local ip. on xp2 and win7, i could not see XP1's hostname on neither xp2's my network place, nor win7's network. However, i could access xp1 over using its static IP. what xp1's hostname is not shown on the other two's network places? is that because of xp1 is using local static ip?

I'm relatively new to establishing VPN connections and I'm having one heck of a time getting everything configured.I'm setting up a RV220W at the office and trying to get VPN steup. I've have gotten Quick VPN connections working using the QuickVPN software. I've given up for now on IPsec VPN connactions and will come back to these later. What I'd like to get setup is the SSL VPN connections using the Win7 built in VPN client. Is this even possible? I initially tried to connect to the VPN via the SSL Web access but I cannot get the software/divers to install on any of the 3+ Win7 64 bit machines I tried. So can the SSL VPN on the RV220W be setup to connect to with the Win7 VPN Client using SSTP?

I am trying to set up a Synology VPN server thru a cisco RV220W and cannot get a windows 7 VPN client to connect to it. Access rule was created on RV220W to port forward 1723 and also made sure the same port was forwarded on the built in router on the Synology NAS box, running DSM4.1 and made sure VPN server was up and running. IP address of synology NAS is 192.168.1.250, mask of 255.255.255.0. DNSgateway is 192.168.1.1. Only running PPTP at this time.
When I run the windows 7 VPN client, I try to connect to the external internet addres:1723, make surePPTP is the only protocol and use a DNS of 192.168.1.1. When I try connect, I get an 868 error which says "error 868: The remote connection was not made because the name of the remote access server could not resolve."
When I try to ping port 1723, I do not get a response which leads me to believe that the issue is the router and not the NAS box. HTTP, HTTPS and FTP ports work fine.

When I try to ping ipv6.xsnews.nl on either of my Windows 7 computers, it returns "Ping request could not find host". But when I do it on XP, it succeeds. I have tried putting the W7 PC in the DMZ, disabling the software firewall but it doesn't work.
What I think it involves is having ipv6 installed on each. I tried to duplicate the setup of both the XP and a W7 computer, installing the gogo6 tunnel. But apparently it's not setup on this computer because the ping result is the same as on the third computer which hasn't had ipv6 installed. s not setup on this computer because the ping result is the same as on the third computer which hasn

get a status on Mac Lion and/or Windows 7 64-bit SSL VPN support for the RV220W? QuickVPN (for Windows 7 64-bit users) and IPSecuritas (for Mac Lion users) are our current workarounds, but for folks that use/own their own equipment we prefer SSL VPN. This is why we retired our WRVS4400N v2 for the RV220W.

I have a host machine (Laptop, Win 7 Home Premium x64) running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on VMWare Workstation 9. I've got this system set up for UMDF driver development, because I need a target machine to debug drivers on. However, because I'm developing drivers for Win 7 (x86 and x64), I cannot connect to the virtual machine on via a simple network connection. Connection methods are outlined here.
I have tried a few different pieces of software (mostly Eltima software), and have Google'd every combination of phrases that I can think of. I can't find any information on this anywhere. I don't just need to share data between the machines, I need a more "physical" connection.
Does any know how to do this, or if there's another (preferably more simple) way of doing it?

I installed on 2 different PCs (Win7 64-bit) the Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07 with the same VPN profile for 2 different users. We use an ASA5505 (8.0(5) sec plus license) as the VPN end point for the clients. The VPN Clients can connect simultaneously to the ASA, they receive the split tunnel infos but only ONE client can ping the internal network ip range. The other one has no access to the internal resources! When they separately try to connect, there is no problem. Each of them can reach the internal net.On other 2 PCs (Win 7 32-bit) the clients have no problem reaching the internal net (simultaneously connect).

I have a client that has a 5505 installed. They want to VPN in with their Win7 laptop, but they don't want to shell out $1000 for the 10-pack Cisco VPN client.I have successfully setup the clientless VPN, and they can, through a browser, get to their files, but they'd like to map network drives so it's just like they're in the office.I tried setting the IP Sec up on the 5505, and then using the built-in Win7 VPN network connection, but no go.I also do everything through the ASDM, but I realize some things cannot be done. I'd prefer to use the ASDM!Anyone else get this configured? 99% of what I see out here is how to connect the 5505 for site-to-site VPN.

In my environment, VPN users are connecting to corparate network via ASA 5540 and using 3.5.1, 4.8, 5.0 (32 bit) and 5.0(64 bit) VPN clients. After they have built VPN connection, they use program that generates traffic to a bradcast address (x.x.x.255) inside corparate network.
There is no problem with users who are using 3.5.1 and 5.0(64 bit), but 4.8 and 5.0 (32 bit) vpn clients can not add ARP entry to Windows machines ARP table. If i add ARP entry for x.x.x.255 on VPN interface, they can work.
