Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT110 - When Clicked On Release And Renew Buttons Nothing Changes

Sep 30, 2012

I've had my WRT110 for about 3 years or so, and it has worked fine for a long time.  Today my computers were connecting to the router, but weren't getting internet access so I did the following:

checked lights on router and modem, they all indicated everything was working and normal Reset Modem,Reset Router,Still nothing. Called Comcast, they said everything was working fine from their end.Plugged my laptop into the ethernet connection on router.Plugged laptop directly into modem and it works fine.I saw the link on here to setup the router, and I have 0s on the internet ip, like it suggests at the end.  When I click on the "release" and "renew" buttons nothing changes.

Cisco Routers :: DMZ Feature Of Small Business RV220W Not Working?

Dec 23, 2011

I have been trying to configure a local DMZ on our network with the Cisco Small Business RV220W router, running the latest firmware but it doesn't seem to be fully functional? Does the DMZ feature actually do anything at the current state of this router? Because when I tried to DMZ host a computer on our local network I still had to manually port forward different applications in order for people to reach it from WAN.
For instance when trying to host a game session, utilizing TCP port 7777 it didn't matter whether I had enabled DMZ or not, I was still required to manually port forward the port to the DMZ IP-address.
Doesn't this defeat and eliminate the whole purpose of the DMZ feature in the first place?

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Port VLANS - Missing Feature In Newer Firmware

From an older manual it describes how to configure this. I installed the oldest firmware available for download and this feature is there. Was this just simply moved somewhere else in the newer firmware?
Configuring Port VLANs
You can associate VLANS on the Cisco RV220W to the LAN ports on the device.
By default, all 4 ports belong to VLAN1. You can edit these ports to associate them

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Second Vlan DHCP

Jan 2, 2013

I have a Cisco RV220W router (firmware version

I would like to have two separate networks with the following specifications:
Netwrork1: address range for the network is All devices should be able to reach eachother within this network and connect to the internet either on LAN or through Wifi. From this network I should also be able to reach the device management page of the router. Also the devices should get the ip addresses throgh DHCP.
Network2: address range for the network is All devices within this network should not be able to reach the devices in network1. All devices on this network should reach the internet through Wifi only. Device management page should not be available on this network.
I have configured the router as shown in the attached screenshots but the problem is that in Network2, devices get IPs from the range and not from the range. Also there is no internet on these either.

Cisco Routers :: Setting Up Static IP For Client Rv220W

Dec 16, 2011

Initial setup with RV220W completed without difficulty,Need to set up static IP for one of the machines in the LAN (not static IP for WAN),I presume I use the static DHCP option, which allows me to select a particular IP for the machine I select based on it's MAC,1. My confusion stems from the manual stating that "the IP address that you pick should be outside the DHCP address range specified on the Networking> LAN(local network)>IPV4(local network)page".,Does that mean that the range on the IPV4 local network page should be modified to exclude the IP address that I want to use for the static IP..e.g. change the range from 1-255 to 1-200 and then use an IP of XXX.XXX.X.201 for instanceor does that mean that as soon as I choose an IP on the Static DHCP page, that if will reserved for use only on that machine and not used for another machine on the LAN, without me having to do something else to exclude it's use (i.e. does reserving a static IP automatically remove it from the range of IPs available to other machines)If I simply set a static IP on the local machine by going to "change network adapter" settings, what's the liklihood that the router might use the same IP on another machine.

I have used Network Monitor on both the DHCP server, and the WiFi client, and can see that the server is receiving the requests and sending a reply, but the client never sees the response from the server.  So far the only way to resolve this is to reboot the router.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Max DHCP Users (Max Connections) Per Vlan

Nov 19, 2011

We assign (reserve by MAC actually) static IPs to all of our devices.  Over time we have gotten rid of some devices but haven't begun (or finished really) re-using the old IPs.  On our WRVS4400N v2 routers we are able to set the max number of DHCP users per Vlan.  This prevents unauthorized devices trying to connect to our LAN.For example.  I set the range from -  IPs 100, 101, and 103 are in use (reserved via MAC address).  We set max number of DHCP users to 3.  This prevents someone from gaining access to  Does this make sense?  Or at least this was the initial goal and it tested out successfully back when we implemented it.
How can I do the same for with the RV220W?  I can set the range, assign static IPs (reserve IPs by MAC address), but can't keep others from gaining accessing to our LAN via the unused IPs (not assigned a static IP).My initial thought was to create static IPs (for the unused IPs) using dummy MAC addresses.  I'm sure there is a much better way of accomplishing what I am trying to do.

Jun 4, 2013

We have

1-A wireless link (pre-wimax) that provide me with 2 Mb internet connection (tagged Ethernet frames) throught RJ-45
2-have 6 real IP _one of them as Gateway
What i need now is what is the best and cheapest device to do NAT and DHCP to allow users to access the internet , i am trying to do this using Cisco AP 1141 and the link is working fine with static ip configuration on my lap (give my wireless NIC real IP) but now i just need device to do NAT and DHCP
My suggestion is can i use  Cisco RV220W Wireless-N Network Security Firewall to do this function. is the WAN port on this router support tagged Ethernet frames ??? or even untagged frames and can i give this router one of those public IPs and give the rest of those IPs statically to other devices on the network.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Built-in DHCP Server Can't Save Class B IP Address Pool

Mar 28, 2012

I was trying to set a DHCP pool with with RV220W, however, RV220W UI can't save it. It displays "IP Address Range -"Step to reproduce: (it is 100% reproducible)

1. login into RV220W admin web

2. Create a VLAN, id 201

3. Go to "Multiple VLAN subnets", select the VLAN, click edit

4. Enter following info:
IP Address:
Subnet Mask:
DHCP Mode: DHCP Server
Domain Name: Cisco
Starting IP Address:
Ending IP Address:
Primary DNS Server:
Leave rest of settings with default value.
DNS proxy is enabled
5. Press Save button. The UI shows text "IP Address Range -".

Expected result: RV220W shall save the setting and make use of subnet in IP pool. By the way, the error message "IP Address Range -" seems incompleteI tried same setting on netgear FVS318N (very similar settings to RV220W), it accepts as DHCP IP pool and works.RV220W has great feature set meets my needs. Its UI is slow and sometime dashboard freezes, which I can live with comparing to features. But DHCP server IP pool can't be class B is huge limitation to me.

Linksys Wired Router :: RVS4000 Does Not Renew DHCP On WAN

Jan 24, 2011

I have an RVS4000 located at my office.  A user of mine also has one at their house.  We have created an IPSec Tunnel between the 2 of them and have them successfully communicating between the 2 networks with no problem.
The problem I have is if I make a change on their end and the router needs to reboot to apply the changes, the WAN port never renews it's DHCP address.  The end user must unplug the unit, plug it back in and then the system comes back up with the correct WAN DHCP address, and the tunnel is connected automatically.
I beleive they have the newest firmware ( but I cannot confirm that right now as the unit is down.  I bought the 2 of them at the same time - my unit at the office has the firmware so I am assuming the users does as well.

Cisco Wireless :: 1242 / How To Force Clients DHCP Renew On Mobility Event

Aug 24, 2011

I have a (single) client (it is a cisco IOS router) behind a wireless workgroup bridge (cisco1242).The client's IP address is obtained via DHCP from the wired network. Now, when roaming occurs, the Client will never have knowledge about this event, and hence will not renew its IP address until lease expiers. This is not a problem of course when Layer 2 roam occurs, but with Layer 3
roam it will interrupt the traffic.
The cisco's IP Mobile implementation does have this issue addressed in DCCoA scenario: the WGB is configured to send an SNMP trap on its dotradio state change;the cisco mobile router is configured with snmp-server manager to process this trap and start DHCP renew on the Down/Up event. Unfortunately, this works in Mobile IP scenario only because I cannot make it work without the mobile router registered with a home agent.

how to force DHCP renew on a client (cisco IOS router) in such a situation - event scripting, SLA,  or ...?

Belkin Routers :: F5D8236-4 V2 - DHCP Client List Is Not Showing All IP Addresses In Use

Feb 23, 2013

I have a Wireless N router model F5D8236-4 v2 (01) with firmware 2.00.04 (Nov 12 2008 10:51:08) and it's not showing all issued wireless or Wired IP addresses in DHCP Client List.

They all have IP addresses and connect to the internet through the router, but in the router administration page, they're not listing. The Windows devices all show but most of the Mac devices are not, nor is my XBox 360.

My reason for investigating this is because the router seems to keep losing the Mac devices and a router reboot fixes it, but it shouldn't have this problem because all the Windows devices just seem to work.

According to the support page I have the latest available (dated November 12, 2008 which really seems kinda old to me for a Wireless N router). Are there any plans for a new firmware offering for this modem or have you already deprecated it as "legacy equipment"?
