From an older manual it describes how to configure this. I installed the oldest firmware available for download and this feature is there. Was this just simply moved somewhere else in the newer firmware?
Configuring Port VLANs
You can associate VLANS on the Cisco RV220W to the LAN ports on the device.
By default, all 4 ports belong to VLAN1. You can edit these ports to associate them

I have read every post here about port forwarding on the RV220W and none are clear. Here is my scenario.
I have 5 static IP Addresses. I want to use one of the IP addresses to setup remote access using Remote Desktop Connection from outside the office using port address translation. for example i would like to use RDC and a specific port such as 7000 and connect to an internal PC on port 3389. sounds simple. i do this all the time on Cisco ASA's, Netgear, D-link, etc. but for the life of me cannot do it on this cisco firewall. so the port address should look like 25.25.25.25:7000 and connect to 192.168.1.25:3389. i have tried everything based on the posts without luck.
I have an N300 (F9K1002v2) and I'd like to know if there are any firmware updates newer than 2.00.08, I've tried flashing firmwares 3, 4, and 5 but they all fail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt this moment (firmware 1.0.3.5) the router has no IPv6 firewall and therefore when used in a typical dual stack IPv4/IPv6 network it has no protection regarding IPv6 traffic. Hopefully this will be fixed with a firmware update before the World IPv6 Day on the 6th of June 2012.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to configure a local DMZ on our network with the Cisco Small Business RV220W router, running the latest 1.0.3.5 firmware but it doesn't seem to be fully functional? Does the DMZ feature actually do anything at the current state of this router? Because when I tried to DMZ host a computer on our local network I still had to manually port forward different applications in order for people to reach it from WAN.
For instance when trying to host a game session, utilizing TCP port 7777 it didn't matter whether I had enabled DMZ or not, I was still required to manually port forward the port to the DMZ IP-address.
Doesn't this defeat and eliminate the whole purpose of the DMZ feature in the first place?
Can add feature "release" and "renew" to wan dhcp client? Is it WOL not possible in RV220w? i tried forward broadcast magic packet from wan side, change broadcast IP and through VPN tunnel (PPTP & IPSEC)...got failed i change from draytek 2130n to rv220w, 2130n much better. except SSL VPN.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought RV220W router and found out that PPPoE connection option or profile do no have service name field at all. Unfortunately, my ISP requires this to be able to connect. I had done some research before buying this router by going through online device manager demos on cisco website. RV220's interface is not available, but RV215 is and I checked out some of the common features between both routers. Surprisingly RV215's PPPoE connection settings has service name option.
I suppose, unless there is new firmware update (my current router is already running the latest available firmware), this option cannot be added in the interface. What I want to know is, is there any way to configure the router to use the service name in PPPoE option or in PPPoE profiles? I don't think RV220W can be accessed via terminal/SSH or maybe even terminal.
We have 2 VLANs configured to keep 2 groups of PCs apart. Is it possible to allow both VLANs to access the same printer without allowing other traffic between these VLANs?

View 36 Replies View RelatedIs there any timeframe on an update for the RV220W firmware? I have had to take mine out of production due to it freezing up/locking up under medium loads. DNS queries (dig) don't respond, pings outside of the network don't respond. Pings to the router DO respond. SSH responds but I have no login info to proceed further. The config (web) page doesn't respond. Interesting enough nntp (news groups) DO respond and download fine. Eventually the unit catches up and the config page shows back up. I wish there was a way to login via the ssh to see what is going on internally with processes. I will have to find time eventually. Right now my old Linksys 54G with DD-WRT is smoking the Cisco router's performance.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed one awkward thing with the latest 1.0.3.5 firmware for the Cisco Small Business RV220W router, with previous firmwares there has always been reported 128mb of system memory (RAM) under the router dashboard. And several "teardowns" of this router has confirmed it to have 128mb of memory on the router board.
Does that mean the latest 1.0.3.5 has an odd visual bug, or has the RV220W gotten it's memory sliced in half with this firmware release?
I have tried to update firmware on a RV220W. Something stopped and now it won`t start. The power led blinks a few times and goes off, the LAN and WAN port wich is connected is lit. I have tried 10 seconds reset button but nothing happens.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've previously upgraded the firmware on our RV220W from 1.0.0.26 to 1.0.1.0 without any problems but all attempts to upgrade to the latest version 1.0.2.4 fails with the following message "Upgrade failed due to invalid/corrupted firmware". The router then automatically reboots with the current firmware.
We've already tried re-downloading and applying the update from several different machines using different operating systems and browsers without success. How to apply this firmware version successfully? We really need one of the VLAN fixes included in this latest version!
Every time I try to download a torrent/magnet the router will crash/reboot multiple time (using utorrent 3).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco rv220w. I just tried updating the firmware. I used RV220W-Firmware-1.0.3.5.img. It rebooted, and now there is no DHCP and no access to anything. I tried the reset button for 10 seconds. That didn't do anything. The WAN and all the LAN lights light up. Power is on and solid. The light blinks alternating between the DMZ and the blank space to the right of wireless. How can I get this back to factory defaults?

The PPPoE connection still works from my prior Linksys router so there wasn't a change on the ISP side. Has something changed in firmware 1.0.1.0 that requires a change to the PPPoE profile?

If I do a backup running 1.0.1.0, then upgrade to 1.0.4.17, then do a restore, would that put me back to 1.0.1.0? I'm trying to avoid configuring the router manually all over again.

We have a centralized Cisco 5508 WLC with 84 APs(1142N) in branches (slow WAN links), Current WLC IOS version is 7.0.220.0.Recently we bought new Aps Air CAP36021-N. These APs are not compatible with existing WLC IOS. If I upgrade WLC, then can I stop propagating newer firmware for old Aps? Because it kills all WAN.

So, I made a custom service, called RemoteDP, TCP protocol, port 3389 to 3389.No, I cannot RDP to my server from WAN. This was easily achieved with a cheap NETGEAR router from 2005.

I made a custom port forward using tcp ports 2121-2130 to a private IP address on my network (192.168.1.8). Whenever I do this, RV220W CPU usage spikes to 98-99% and my Internet connection starts lagging a lot. Just disabling the port forward from the administation console fixes this. I'm running the latest firmware.

I also have a few servers with services I need to expose to outside the network (RDP and some websites) where the external port is not the same as the LAN port. I could accomplish this with my previous router using port forwarding and it looks like I can do the same here on the RV220W but I can't quite get it to work successfully.
I have a setup with 2 RV220W at 2 locations.Both with the latest Firmware (1.0.3.5). I configured portforwarding for RDP at one site. Works perfekt. I also configured an IPSec VPN between the 2 sites. Works too.
Configuration overview:
Site_1:
- IPSec VPN to site_2
Site_2:
- IPSec VPN to site_1
- Port forwarding for RDP to a local server (server_2)
My first problem is that i can ping server_2 through the VPN from a pc within site_1 but i can not access this server via RDP. As soon as i disable the Portforwarding for RDP at site_2, RDP via VPN works! I assume, that the RV220W mixes up portforwarding and VPN.I tried to set up an additional firewall rule at site_2 allowing the traffic between the local networks of both sites without restrictions and place this rule at toe top. But here is my second problem: I can not add any destination network to the firewall settings (firewall-->access rules). I only allows me to define a host to redirect the traffic to.

I can see how to do this on the RV215W through the online emulator, but Cisco suggested I use the RV220W. Looking through the device emulator, I can't seem to figure out how I would set it up.
I have a RV180W and a EnGenius EAP350 Access Point. The EnGenius supports multiple SSID's and VLAN tags them. If port 1 on the RV180W has VLAN 1 untagged and VLAN2 tagged, any connection to the EnGenius always gets an IP from the VLAN 1, even though they are connected to the SSID which is tagged with VLAN2.
