Cisco Routers :: RV180W And Multiple VLANs Over Same Port?

Sep 27, 2012

I have a RV180W and a EnGenius EAP350 Access Point.  The EnGenius supports multiple SSID's and VLAN tags them.  If port 1 on the RV180W has VLAN 1 untagged and VLAN2 tagged, any connection to the EnGenius always gets an IP from the VLAN 1, even though they are connected to the SSID which is tagged with VLAN2.

Cisco Routers :: RV180W Do Not Allow VLANs To Communicate?

Oct 3, 2012

I just recently switched from the WRVS4400N to the RV180W. I have 4 VLANs, and I want VLANs 1, 2, 3 to communciate freely, but I DONT want VLAN 4 to communicate with anybody, just Internet access. On the WRVS4400N, I was able to do this using the Firewall > IP Based ACL. I notcied that the RV180W, does not have such an option. I am sure there is something I am missing, I just cant find out how to isolate VLAN 4.

Cisco Routers :: Route Netbios (only) Between VLANs Using RV180W?

Feb 17, 2013

it is possible to route netbios broadcasts between VLANs using a RV180W.  Presently i have the network configured with two vlans (one for each building).  The RV180 operates as a DHCP server and internet gateway for VLAN 1 and a linksys product operates as the DHCP server and internet gateway for VLAN 2.With the addition of a static route between, we can ping freely between the VLANs, transfer files, etc.  However, members of VLAN 2 must be addressed by IP in windows explorer by members of VLAN 1 and vice versa.  I understand this is because Netbios broadcasts are not routed between the two vlans, precluding addressing computers by name.  While this is not a critical problem, it would be "nice" if i could configure the RV180 to route only Netbios between the two (still hold other broadcasts such as DHCP).  I understand this ispossible on higher-end cisco products through the use of IP-Helper addresses, but I cannot find any information on doing such on the RV180.

Cisco Routers :: RV180W IPSec VPN With Multiple Networks?

Sep 4, 2012

I am setting up a customer site.  One side is RV180W and the other side is Checkpoint 500W.

RV180W side
LAN - 192.168.100.0/24
 Checkpoint side
LAN - 172.26.1.0/24
VOIP - 172.26.2.0/24

Need to setup an ipsec tunnel between the site.  However, from the RV180W side, I can only ping the VOIP network, but not LAN. I have heard that RV180W only can talk to one remote network via ipsec, correct?  workaround this other than changing out the RV180W?

Cisco Routers :: RV180W VPN Configuration / How To Choose Multiple Subnets

Jan 4, 2013

I have setup 15 x RV180W's so far for a particular client. They have requested that we add a Corporate Wireless VLAN for their laptop users (not guests) and add a Special Use WiFi VLAN for a particular mobile platform that is being deployed (in this case we need 2 separate WiFi VLANs to ensure compliance). Also, none of the VLANs can talk to eachother and they have their own subnets.I have the Wireless and VLANs setup, no problem... but I am having an issue wiht the VPN settings.I have the wired network's subnet working fine. But I do not know how to add the subnets for both Wireless VLANs to the traffic selection. The IP schemes will not allow me to just select a large subnet... here are some examples:

Wired VLAN: 10.10.x.y
Corporate WiFi VLAN: 10.15.x.y
Special WiFi VLAN: 10.18.x.y

x is the octet that defines the physical unit location (unit 1 = .23, unit 2 = .24, etc...) y is the octet the host.Since they are not in a contiguous block, I cannot just use a larger subnet mask.I can add multiple traffic selection rules to the ASA5515 at HQ, so that side of the tunnel is perfect... I just don't know how to add the three VLANs to the RV180. Is it as simple as using commas or semicolons?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750 - Configuring Multiple VLANs For Single Port

Apr 11, 2012

I would like to configure a 3750 switch port to be able to use two vlans. I know you can do this with a voice and data vlan, but what about two data vlans ? Say I have two devices, one on a 10 subnet and the other on a 172 subnet, but i only have one wall jack for both devices to plug into. So I use a mini switch to connect both devices and connect the switch to the wall jack; and of course this all leads back to one switch port. When I go to enter the switchport access vlan 172 cmd, how would I also make it so the device on the 10 subnet could route out ?

Cisco Wireless :: C1131AG - Multiple SSID With Multiple VLANs Configuration On Aironet AP

Oct 21, 2012

how i can configure a second ssid for guest access in our environment. this is our network setup prior to this request: Internet----Firewall (not ASA)---ce520---C1131AG and CME router is also connecting to the ce520 switch. we only have two vlans: one for voice and two for data.

Presently, there is no vlan configured on the AP because it on broadcasting ont ssid and wireless users gets IP from a windows DHCP server on the LAN. the configuration on the ce520 switch port for the AP and other switches say access vlan is the DATA vlan which automatically becomes the native vlan for all trunk port connecting the AP and other Stiches to the network.

Now with this new requirement, i have made my research and i have configured the AP to broadcast both the production and the guest Vlans. The two vlans are 20-DATA and 60-Guest. I made the DATA vlan on the AP the native vlan since the poe switch is using the DATA vlan as native on the trunk ports. I configured the firewall to serve as DHCP server for the guest ssid and i have added the ip helper-address on the guest vlan interface on all switches while the windows server remains the dhcp server for the production DATA Vlan. I have confirmed that the AP, switches can ping the default gateway of the guest dhcp server which is another interface on the firewall. I can now see and connect to all broadcasted ssids but the problem is I am not getting IP addresses from both the production dhcp server and guest dhcp server when i connected to the ssid one at a time. My AP config is attached below.

Do i need to redesign the whole network to have a native vlan other nthan the data vlan? Does the access point need to be aware of the voice vlan? Do the native Vlan on the AP need to be in Bridge-group 1 or can i leave it in bridge-group 20?

Multiple Wireless Routers To 1 WAN Port?

Feb 16, 2012

setup multiple wireless routers to one Internet connection. We have one cable modem (with built in wireless router) for Internet connection. Over a wide area (500 feet over two floors) I would like to connect to the Internet throughout this area wirelessly. The computers sharing the connection do not need to share with each other and do not need to see each other. Security is not a major factor. The building material is cinder brick walls (which weakens the wireless signal quickly).I have several older (2008 or 2009) wireless routers. I was thinking of putting these routers at various locations in the building with a wired connection back to the WAN modem. Each wireless router could the service a smaller area in the building. My plan is to turn off the DHCP on each wireless router. Do I need to run a wired cable (lan port to Lan port) back to the cable modem or can I use the wireless routers to connect to the wireless cable modem?

Cisco Routers :: SRP547W - How To Use Multiple WAN IPs For Port Forwarding

Sep 10, 2011

We've run into some difficulty trying to take advantage of multiple WAN IPs in conjunction with the SRP547

What we're trying to acheive is the ability to port forward from our distinct public IPs to different internal servers. Looking at the options under Port Forwarding it looks like we can only configure forwards at the "WAN interface" level, but our problem is that we can't work out how to set up separate interfaces for each of our Public IPs...

Our ISP provides us with a fully managed NTU/router with a single "Internet" ethernet port, which we can use by statically configuring IPs on our end. For this configuration this port has been directly patched to the WAN ethernet port on the SRP547W.

We have been allocated a 255.255.255.248 (/29) subnet, giving us 5 usable IPs after the ISP's gateway address is taken into account, like so:
a.b.c.208     Network Address (/29 subnet)
a.b.c.209     ISP Gateway
a.b.c.210     IP1

[Code].....

I should mention at this point that we're running on firmware version 1.02.01 (023).

Is there a CLI or other method of configuration that might work if the web interface won't?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Multiple VLANs On 881?

Oct 23, 2012

I recently set up a Cisco 881 to cover a small business network. The router is currently set up and working as expected. We recently decided to move to VoIP phones and here is where I'm running into some issues.

First an overview: We run a network with a cable internet WAN connection, this connection is DHCP, however we have a static IP through our ISP. We also have a block of 30 additional IP addresses for one to one mapping as we need them. The new VoIP system is being run over T1 lines throughout the township (we are a municipal organization) and the VoIP system is being run to about 5 buildings in the township.

This brings me to the topic of VLANs. As the phone engineer explained it to me, there is a network set up over the T1 that allows the VoIP equipment to talk to one another and operates all of the VoIP phones on one network. The equipment that is being installed at our building connects to the network over the T1 and "talks" to the other equipment on the network. The engineer wants to create a VLAN and run it on ports fa1 and fa2, with the fa2 port being connected to the actual "MPLS" (their term) that connects to the T1 and into the cloud, and the fa1 port connected to the internal phone switch.

TLDR; The problem is this: When we attempt to set up the VLAN on ports fa1 and fa2, we have no connectivity with the other units in the external VoIP cloud. Pinging while directly connected to the "MPLS" yields successful pings, while pinging from the router with the "MPLS" connected to fa2 yields failures. I'm going to post the running config below, I feel like what we're doing should be working. I asked around about subinterfacing, but others seemed to think this was not necessary.

After I create the VLAN 1009 (see screenshot below), port 9 can browse the Internet and cannot see the other ports on the switch which is correct. However, ports 2-8 can no longer access the switch at 192.168.1.20 in order to manage the switch.

Protocols / Routing :: Port Forwarding Ranges On Cisco Rv180w Router?

Aug 13, 2012

I'm just setting up a Cisco rv180w router to replace our aging Belkin. I need to allow a range of ports through the firewall to a particular PC on our internal network that runs our VOIP/SIP Trunk phone system.

The Cisco's Port Forwarding looks like it can only forward one port at a time, but for our phones I need to allow a full range of ports (in this case ports 49152-64512) to one machine at 192.168.x.xx.

On the Belkin I used something called 'Virtual Servers' which allows you to enter ranges of ports. Anybody know what the equivalent might be for the Cisco router?

Also - I have a switch connected at each end of the bridge.  When I make VTP changes, the remote switch does not pick these up - is this because VTP goes over VLAN1 regardless of the Native VLAN (2 in my case)? Do I have to carry VLAN1 over the bridge to get VTP working, or is there an alternative solution?
