Cisco Routers :: RV220W V1.0.2.4 Remote Management / Load Balanced Proxy Fail?

Sep 26, 2011

I just purchased 5 RV220W to act as internet/wireless router at a remote site. There is no VPN, just LAN and Wireless routing to the internet.I have setup remote management and it works fine when I am directly connected to the internet. However, everytime I try to connect through our HTTP/HTTPs proxy farm, it usually fails. Specificially, I get the log-in page and can log in. It starts to render the landing page but redirects to a page stating "Your session has been terminated." On rare instances the first page will appear, however within a few clicks I end up with the same terminated page.

As a test, I bypassed the farm and forced my browser to use one proxy exclusively. At that point I could access the HTTPS interface with no issue. I have not had any issues with other SSL sites with the proxy configuration in use.Is there some sort of MITM prevention I could be running into? If so, can it be turned off.I am new to the RV-series of routers. Is there any logging I could turn on that would provide insight on why the session may be getting terminated?

Cisco Routers :: Default Outbound Policy In RV220W

Aug 1, 2012

How to set the default outbound policy as block in access rules of rv220w? I configure my company router RV220W to block all outbound service traffic, just allow outbound service as : http, https, smtp, dns_tcp / udp. it works fine for some hours, the next day, the rules like expired, the https / smtp / DNS service fail to outgoing, only the http is still ok? What happen? Now I just set the default outbound policy as allow, all traffic can go out, but that is meaningless for a firewall device.

What I do remember is that every switch port on the 2960 switch went orange and an outage occured, where the ports went into listening / learning mode. I assume that the STP was just the default ieee 802.1D.

Cisco Routers :: RV220w RDP Port Forwarding Non-functional

Sep 24, 2011

I'm having yet another issue with my RV220w. I thought this would be a wise buy, but I keep finding reasons to hate myself for buying this router.Anyway, I need to forward port 3389, Windows Remote Desktop Protocol to one of my internal servers.  I have defualt NAT, defualt firewall, etc. etc.  I have seen documentation that says that Firewall -> Port Forwarding is non-functional, so I attempt to set up port forwarding via Firewall -> Access Rules.  I did not see "RDP" or any other obvious acronym for Remote Desktop Protocol in the services list.  So, I made a custom service, called RemoteDP, TCP protocol, port 3389 to 3389.No, I cannot RDP to my server from WAN. This was easily achieved with a cheap NETGEAR router from 2005.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Forwarding Port Range?

Sep 4, 2012

How can one forward a range of ports?

Suppose I have defined the following service:

Service: TEST
Port type: UDP
Starting port: 5060
Ending port: 5070

and I want to forward it to a specific IP. Then, if I create a new port forwarding rule for this service it asks me to specify a single port number to be used internally as:

Action: Always Allow
Service: TEST
Source IP: Any
Destination IP: 10.0.0.100
Internal Port: ?

I want to forward all ports from 5060 to 5070 to the internal range 5060 to 5070.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Port Forwarding An 99% CPU Usage

Mar 10, 2012

I made a custom port forward using tcp ports 2121-2130 to a private IP address on my network (192.168.1.8). Whenever I do this, RV220W CPU usage spikes to 98-99% and my Internet connection starts lagging a lot. Just disabling the port forward from the administation console fixes this. I'm running the latest firmware.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W - Port Forwarding - Different Ports

I also have a few servers with services I need to expose to outside the network (RDP and some websites) where the external port is not the same as the LAN port. I could accomplish this with my previous router using port forwarding and it looks like I can do the same here on the RV220W but I can't quite get it to work successfully.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: UDP Port 10000 And IPv6 Ports Listening

Aug 30, 2012

The problem is I don't want the switches listening on the IPv6 ports.[code] How to shut down these listening ports?I also have a few production switches listening on UDP/10000 and I cannot determine why this port is listening. [code] I've seen where UDP/10000 is Network Data Management Protocol and is related to Storage networks ###, but I've also seen where UDP/10000 is the default port for IPSEC data.I don't believe UDP/10000 is related to either NDMP or IPSEC data, though I could be very wrong.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W - Firmware 1.0.3.5 Port Forwarding With Static IPs

Apr 24, 2012

I have read every post here about port forwarding on the RV220W and none are clear. Here is my scenario.

I have 5 static IP Addresses. I want to use one of the IP addresses to setup remote access using Remote Desktop Connection from outside the office using port address translation. for example i would like to use RDC and a specific port such as 7000 and connect to an internal PC on port 3389. sounds simple. i do this all the time on Cisco ASA's, Netgear, D-link, etc. but for the life of me cannot do it on this cisco firewall. so the port address should look like 25.25.25.25:7000 and connect to 192.168.1.25:3389. i have tried everything based on the posts without luck.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W - Port Forwarding Collides With IPSec?

Feb 1, 2012

I have a setup with 2 RV220W at 2 locations. Both with the latest Firmware (1.0.3.5). I configured portforwarding for RDP at one site. Works perfekt. I also configured an IPSec VPN between the 2 sites. Works too.

Configuration overview:
Site_1:
- IPSec VPN to site_2
 Site_2:
- IPSec VPN to site_1
- Port forwarding for RDP to a local server (server_2)

My first problem is that i can ping server_2 through the VPN from a pc within site_1 but i can not access this server via RDP. As soon as i disable the Portforwarding for RDP at site_2, RDP via VPN works! I assume, that the RV220W mixes up portforwarding and VPN.I tried to set up an additional firewall rule at site_2 allowing the traffic between the local networks of both sites without restrictions and place this rule at toe top. But here is my second problem: I can not add any destination network to the firewall settings (firewall-->access rules). I only allows me to define a host to redirect the traffic to.

Cisco Routers :: RV042 V3 Remote Management Port?

Apr 11, 2013

I have a brand new RV042 v3 that I just updated to the latest firmware (v4.2.1.02) and have stumbled across an anomaly... I can only access the router from the WAN port using port 80.  I happen to have it set to port 8080, but that doesn't work; I have to use standard port 80.

I have two other RV042 units running older firmware and they work as expected and follow the port that is filled in.  This one has me puzzled and wondering if this is a bug in the firmware.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: SG300-10 See All Traffic From All Connected Devices On Any Port / Where To Connect Listening Device

Dec 20, 2012

In my LAN environment, I'm using two cisco SG300-10 switches. Both switches are connected by GE10 on both switches, where both ports are set to trunk. Now on all ports 1-9 on both switches, I'm having client computers attached. So I set ports 1-9 to "access" mode. All interfaces on any switch is left in default vlan.

Is it normal that I see all traffic from all connected devices on any port where I connect a listening device? What I'd like to achieve is, that only traffic that is meant for a specific workstation is actually forwarded to this workstation. By now it seems that I get all the traffic from everybody.

Cisco :: 3750X Management Interface Out-of-band Default Gateway

Aug 31, 2012

I've got a 3750X, IOS 15.0 IP Base license, reset to factory defaults, and I want to use the FastEthernet0 out-of-band management port on the backside next to the console port. The idea is that this port should provide a management interface that does not participate in the routing table. Problem is, contrary to the documentation, that configuring an IP address on the interface does make it show up in 'show ip route'. So it's still part of the routing table. Also, I'm unable to find the commands to change this and set a default gateway for just the management interface. I'm pretty sure this has to be possible, I remember seeing something similar on an ASA once. The 3750 configuration guide on Cisco.com does not seem to mention it.I considered using VRF but it's an IP Base license, no VRF.

Is there any reason this would not work?  I would like to not burn a gig port if the max throughput of the circuit is 100Mbps.

Cisco Firewall :: Change Default SSH Port On ASA 5505 (port Forwarding)

Dec 2, 2011

So here is my network.

ASA5505--->Cisco1841--->Cat2960
Code
ASA asa831-k8.bin
Cisco 1841 c1841-adventerprisek9-mz.151-4.M2.bin
Cat 2960 c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-55.SE1.bin

and here is my dilemma.

I can SSH from the internet to my ASA on default port 22, directly to my public IP.  I can SSH from the internet to my Cisco 1841 on port 2001. I can not however, SSH to my Cat 2960.  From what i can tell, on the Cat2960 i can't change the default port 22 for SSH to different port, just like i did on the Cisco 1841.  I looked to see if I can change the default port for SSH on he ASA, it does not look like this is an option.

The bottom line is that i want to be able to SSH to all three devices from the internet.  I only have one public IP.  As of now, what i can do is only SSH to the ASA on default port 22 directly to the public IP and Cisco 1841 on port 2001.  It appears that changing the default SSH port on Cat 2960 is not an option.  It also appears that I can't change the default SSH port on the ASA, if i could, i would and then i should be able to SSH to the Cat 2960 on port 22. No matter what i did on the ASA, it always listens on port 22 for SSH connections.

show asp table socket
TCP       001f549f  <<pub IP>>:22              0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN

how do i make it listen on different port?
