Cisco Routers :: RVS 4000 HTTP Management Interface Hangs At Port 80 And DHCP Stops Working

Every day or so the Router becomes unresponsive to the HTTP mgmt interface, as well as it no longer offers DHCP services.then this happens the only remedy is to power reboot.
Everything comes back online just fine, however, the LOGS are initilaized so no data to figure out what`s going on.My next step is to setuo a syslog server and have the logs copied out.( No, I have no Torrents running at all, but I do have several devices like AppleTV, PS3s etc that run streaming Video plus I have the SPA3102 )

We bought an RV042 at the end of June. It is used as a gateway and VPN router. DHCP server is disabled and all IPs are configured manually.Every once in a while (Tuesday night, then Friday night - yesterday, it has hapened once or twice before that) the router appears to restart (see log below) then comes back up with system time of Jan 01 2010. At this point the router will no longer load its configuration page (https://10.29.238.197:16443/) and VPN connection to our customer in Africa drops. However, devices behind the router can be reached and can access the internet. The only way to fix this is to power cycle the router at which point everything starts working flawlessly again.The PID VID is RV042 V03 running firmware v4.0.3.03-tm (May 12 2011 21:27:37). Our RV042 is a newer one with Cisco SMB Router branding not the older Linksys branding.

I looked at the log more and all the usual messages assosciated with VPN being established are there - the last thing in the log before the router coming back up again is:

I am using a RV110W with the latest firmware 1.0.1.6 I have some port forwarding configured, which normally work. But sometimes, all port forwarding stop working. Everything else continues working normally, just all port forwarding don't work any more. I tried disabling the port forwarding and enabling them again, this doesn't work. Also disabling the firewall completely does not work. You have to reboot the router, then everything works fine again. When I make a portscan from outside with a "fresh" started router, the forwarded ports are open. When the error occurs and I make a portscan from outside, all ports that should be open (and have been open before) are closed.

I have a RV042 router on a single WAN and an internal LAN. I have configured port forwarding as follows: HTTP[TCP/80~80]->10.0.0.6HTTPS[TCP/443~443]->10.0.0.6IMAP[TCP/143~143]->10.0.0.5IMAP SSL[TCP/993~993]->10.0.0.5SMTP SSL[TCP/587~587]->10.0.0.5
Everything works just fine when I have the firewall DISABLED. However, when I enable it the behaviour is erratic. 1 out of 10 attempts to connect to ANY port forwarded works. Almost all attempts time out. Notice that this happens even if using only the default firewall rules (which should be bypassed by the port forwarding as I read in other posts).
My second try was to create firewall rules manually, overriding the default ones. I tried adding rules from source WAN1 (where my connection is) to ANY and to SINGLE IP's on every port. Nothing seems to work.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, this is really bugging me. I had to turn the firewall off so we can access our servers from outside the office. This shouldn't have to be done.
Just found out that my firewall is getting LOTS and LOTS of Blocked - SYN Flood entries. I think this is why we are having trouble with the firewall. Could this be the problem? I have no idea where all these SYN packets are coming from since they appear with spoofed IPs or come from different bots all over.

The Port 80 port fowarding stops functioning after a few hours and requires the router to be rebooted to start forwarding again. The firmeware is the latest 1.0.04 Build 7. I require it to operate reliably for many days without intervention. I assume that it is a port forwarding problem because I can access the IP on my network from within my network even when I can't access it from outside my network. I am using the correct IP addresses as it sometimes works OK. A characteristic is that when I can't access the page it loads as completely blank white with no error message.

I have a cisco asa 5010 where, during the process of configuring, the outside ports become down/down. The /0 port won't even reactivate after cycling power on the unit.Port /1 is the inside interface and it is not affected by the problems.I switched the outside port to port /3 and it worked for awhile then it stopped working. I switched it to Port /2 and the same thing.Port /2 and Port /3 are on after a power recycle but shut down completely (down/down) during the reconfiguration. It seems like a hardware failure, but I'm wondering if it could be anything else.

I have a new 5508 that I am setting up. My first one from scratch.
Interfaces:
managment -> 10.10.10.10 ->dhcp 10.10.10.1
voice -> 10.10.7.1 ->dhcp 10.10.10.1
guest -> 192.168.1.2 ->dhcp 192.168.1.2
Local DHCP (via the 5508) is for the guest network while the management and voice use the Windows DHCP server.
My problem, Voice and guest work fine. I have two SSID's (one 802.1X and the other PSK) that use the management interface that will not get an IP. I have enabled dhcp proxy from the cli on the controller. I tried with the management VLAN tagged and untagged.

I installed two AIR-AP1142N-E-K9 access points, running a fairly simple config, WPA2 PSK, with AES cipher, both the same SSID.The two access points are connected to Cisco 2960G switches, which are in turn connected to each other, again without any fancy config options, no VLAN's ed.
After a random while, varying from 30 minutes to 15 hours, the access points will stop sending/recieving traffic on the ethernet interface.The units don't stop at the same moment, this also varies seemingly random. It's not related to load or the amount of clients (1 to 15).Only turning on one unit doesn't make any difference.
The units keep sending out their SSID, you can associate to them, but the DHCP requests aren't passed on to the DHCP server which is connected to one of the 2960G's.If you wirelessly connect to the AP and set a manual IP adress you can reach the webinterface and telnet/ssh to the access point. The ethernet link is reported as being up on the access point. Also the switch reports a link on the port to which the access point is connected.Resetting the link does have no effect. The log doesn't mention any errors or warnings.Power cycling or reloading the access point will put it back in working order for a varying amount of time.

We have several pairs of ASA5510s in failover A/P mode, some running 8.3(2) and others running 8.4(1).
e0/0 = outside
e0/1 = inside
m0/0 = management
The problem we're having is we can't get anything to route out of the management interface unless we put in a static route at least to the subnet level. For example, we want syslog traffic to exit out m0/0 to our syslog server 10.71.211.79. Our 'gateway of last resort' points to the next hop out e0/0, and a second static route with a higher metric and a more distinct network space is for m0/0 as in:
route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.49.129 1route management 10.72.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.72.232.94 10
This doesn't work, and ASDM loggin gives this error: ".....Routing failed to locate next hop for udp from NP Identity Ifc:10.72.232.89/514 to management:10.72.211.79/514"
If I put in a more granular subnet route, or a host route of the syslog server it works, such as:
route management 10.72.211.0 255.255.255.0 10.72.232.94 10 <------------- this works
route management 10.72.211.79 255.255.255.255 10.72.232.94 10 <------------- this works too
Why won't a static route for 10.71.0.0 255.255.0.0 work in this case?
We are going to have numerous hosts access and be sent messages though the management interface of these ASAs, and it would be very burdonsome to have to add a host, or even a subnet, route for every one. I've removed all static routes and tried to rely on EIGRP, but that doesn't work. I also had to put 'passive-interface management' under the EIGRP for this to work.
Here is the pertinant ASA config concerning syslog, routing, and interfaces:

After I have upgraded our ASA 5510 to 8.4.2 I have problem with the management interface.Our former firmware 8.2.3 had no problem using the management interface as a DMZ zone, but after we upgraded to 8.4.2 we can't make it work.The interface and the protocol is up, when I type: show interface.But when I ping the interface from a computer connectet to the interface, nothing happens.
Even the logging shows nothing.

I have 2 x 5508 Wireless Controllers, 1 mgmt port on each as standard. I noticied something different between these controllers running the same code.I can bound a physical port to the mgmt interface on one controller but not the other (both interfaces are untagged)see below, this config appears on one controller but not the other? Is this something to do with the initial setup? How can I add Phyiscal information to the other controller mgmt interface, I cannot delete the mgmt interface. We recently reset a 4400 controller in a school. Although all access points associated, clients could not get the Internet. On investigating we suddenly lost connection to the web interface. We tried hyperterminal connections to reset, but found that the managament interface had the ports "unconfigured". We finally reset the configuration, and when we tried to start from scratch it now does not allow a port designation. It asks for 1 or 0 but says both are invalid when entered.

how to configure the backup port for the management interface for a WLC 2112. I see in the documentation that it states:
"Each interface is mapped to at least one primary port, and some interfaces (management and dynamic) can be mapped to an optional secondary (or backup) port. If the primary port for an interface fails, the interface automatically moves to the backup port. In addition, multiple interfaces can be mapped to a single controller port."
But nowhere can I find where it says how exactly to do it. Google seaches have come up empty as well. I am connecting the WLC to a 3750 stack, and would like to have a secondary port from the WLC connected to the second node of the 3750 stack. So far I have connected port 1 (management) of the WLC to a port on node 1 of the stack which is configured as a trunk and everything is workign fine. I have also connected port 2 from the WLC to a port on node 2 in the stack that is configured the same as the port on node one. how to tell the WLC to use port 2 as the management backup if needed.

I have a client who is changing their management IP scheme as a bridge to replacing equipment and much of the old equipment (Catalyst 4000) is running CatOS and I am a bit weak in CatOS. The existing Management IP is setup as follows:
set interface sc0 1 192.168.252.209/255.255.255.0 192.168.252.255
set ip route 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 192.168.252.1
What we want to change this to is as follows:
set interface sc0 110 192.168.197.209/255.255.255.0 192.168.197.255
set ip route 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 192.168.197.1
The devices are spreadout over a large area and visiting each device is almost out of the question due to a time deadline I was wondering if I run this set of commands will this allow me to keep a remote session (SSH) running until the change is complete?

Having a problem with port forwarding on their WRT400N? I'm forwarding one service (https) and this stops working if it's not accessed after a 10 days or so. The only way to get it to work again is to reboot the router. I’m running the “latest" firmware, which is an oxymoron considering it's been over 12 MONTHS since Linksys updated the code... Which is appalling considering this appears to be their flagship wireless N router.

i cannot access the web managemnet interface of this router from a different subnet.THe WAN interface is a 4G LTE connection,I have disabled both the SPI firewall and NAT and enabled remote management from any ip address but i cannot access the admin web page from a remote subnet.Doing a port scan of the routers WAN or LAN address i cannot see any ports open at all...its as if firewall or NAT is still enabled somehow.

We have an RV082 (firmware 2.0.2.01-tm),with an ADSL connection over PPPoE. It connects fine, and I can ping anything, and I can also access websites with HTTPS, but when trying to access any website with HTTP, it doesn't work.There's no load balancing going on, and it's the same whether we have the Firewall turned on or off, and everything else is pretty much as default.

When my RV042 is accessed for long transmissions (svn check out, usually after 20 minutes ) the client receives a message "Gateway not responding, do you want to wait".
When this happens I see the following in the RV042 system log (the first 3 lines of the log below are normal):

I have a RVS4000 hardware v2 with firmware 2.0.2.7. I have a DSL modem in bridge mode and have the router set to PPPoE. Everything works fine except I want to use QOS which doesn't work fine. I have some vonage boxes set up on a switch set to port 1 trust mode is set to port and level 4 for highest priority. Port 2 I have on another switch set to priority 3. I tried turning bandwidth mangement on which doesn't seem to work at all so I don't even know if they QOS is even working. I set the max down stream and upstream provided after running a number of speed tests and setting it a little lower than my worst speed results. Once I did that I set up a rule for all traffic for rate control and set them just below the min and max I put in for isp bandwidth. I set the ip range from 192.168.1.100-190 this will cover anything that dhcp hands out and I also have a few statics set up on 192.168.1.180 and 181. However after enabling it I ran some speed tests and I still get full speed and the rules seem to be getting ignored.

I'm running a Windows Server 2008 R2 connected via cable to my RV220. The server is hosting several websites running in separate virtual machines. These websites are accessible through a reverse proxy set up on the 2008 R2. In addition the 2008 R2 provides access to storage over Windows file sharing (client backup, file sharing ...). Most of the clients are connected via wireless.My problem is that after some time (~24h) I lose the connection to the services provided by the 2008 R2 server as a result of (host) name resolution has stopped working. This only happens for wireless clients. Wired clients are not affected.To give more details: Network clients connected via wireless can't see clients connected via Ethernet and the network shares are not accessible anymore (even by putting in manually "\hostnameshare", but "\[IP address]share" still works). Being connected via Ethernet the communication between client and server works flawlessly - the server appears immediately on the network device list. The other way around is also not possible: the server can’t see clients connected via wireless. The reverse proxy is still accessible through wireless connection by putting in the IP address, e.g. "http://192.168.1.123/homepage" but "http://hostname/homepage" won't work.A restart of the router will fix things but only for the next couple of hours.

I have a brand new RV042 v3 that I just updated to the latest firmware (v4.2.1.02) and have stumbled across an anomaly... I can only access the router from the WAN port using port 80. I happen to have it set to port 8080, but that doesn't work; I have to use standard port 80.
I have two other RV042 units running older firmware and they work as expected and follow the port that is filled in. This one has me puzzled and wondering if this is a bug in the firmware.

I have a 6 month old RV042 with the newest firmware (v4.2.1.02). Over the weekend I configured the DMZ which after a lot of trial and error, was able to get working. Prior to configuring DMZ, I was able to log in with remote management. However now remote management no longer works. I've tried:
- Rebooting the router
- Turning the firewall off/on
- Turning remote management off/on
- Changing the remote management port
The only step I haven't taken is resetting the router back to factory defaults and trying to reconfigure it all again. This router is so finicky I have no faith I'd be able to get my current functionality back again.

So all of a sudden the trusty HP 4000 stopped printing. A little bit of troubleshooting and I found out that the problem was the JetDirect card. I purchased a new one (615n - same model as the old one), installed it, ran a printer configuration page, confirming I have an IP (192.168.x.x) and subnet mask (255.255.255.0), config by DHCP.Also, ran a ping test and it appears to be fine?

the inside interface on our primary ASA seemed to "hang". It dropped all the packets it received. Because the interface didnt go down, failover didn't happen. Device's info;

I am upgrading from 3750-E IOS 12.2 to 3750-X IOS 15.0
I have a dhcp pool set up to give out an ip address based on the Physical port of the switch. I also have it configured to give out "reserved only" addresses.
The configuration works when i plug a dhcp device in the 3750E. (IOS12.2) The configuration does not work when i use the same config on 3750X (IOS15)
When i debug dhcp, i see the DHCP discover message come in, but no offers or anykind of response from the 3750X.
If i remove the "reserved only" line the switch gives out IPs, but of ocurse not the ones i want. I did that to prove both the client and the switch can give out an IP.
So i have a feeling the subscriber-id client-id interface name mapping is not right, or not created.
Here is a snippet of config.

I am trying to configure the DMZ on my SA520 router but without success.After a lot of tests I reduced everything to a very simple test case that is not working: I setted the "Optional Port Mode" to "DMZ" and enabled "DHCP Server" in the "DMZ Configuration", but DHCP on the DMZ does not assign any address.I am wondering if my optional port is broken or not.

we're facing a weird issue lately with a Cisco 2821.An interface stops responding after a few hours.The only way to bring it 'up' again is:
Hardcode: duplex or speed
or
shutdown -> no shutdown
there are no errors in the "sho interface" and no errors or entries in the log.
FastEthernet0/0/0 is up, line protocol is up
