Every day or so the Router becomes unresponsive to the HTTP mgmt interface, as well as it no longer offers DHCP services.then this happens the only remedy is to power reboot.

I have been working with ASA 5510,20,40,80 but not with 5505 this vlan and its interfaces are quite confusing.Just want to know how it works and its connectivity to Cisco Switch.Do i have to put the interface of the switch in the same vlan as i am creating the interface vlan in firewall ?Now the switch port connecting to this Eth1 interface should also be in the same vlan ? i.e vlan3 ?? or it will be in trunk ? View 3 Replies View RelatedAny issues on Cisco ISR / ISR G2 routers running 15.x code while doing NAT for large quantities of users (3000+) involving lock ups? This seems to be an ongoing issue for a customer. The symtom is present on 2811, 2911 and a 3945. The 3945 never spikes over 10% processor or memory utilization, yet still has these issues. The routers have been tested running 15.0(1)M5, 15.0(1)M7 and 15.1(4)M4 which all showed simular results. Other router side services are running such as NetFlow v9 to two destinations. Another interesting symtom, doing a "show ip nat translations" command will crash the router if executed at its peak usage period. NAT is to a single IP (sourced from outside interface), not a pool.

I have a scenario with a Cisco 6506 and a 7206. The 6506 is running BGP and peers with our data center router. The 7206 is a stub router off the 6506 and is used as an edge router for customer T1 circuits. I want to use OSPF between the routers to exchange connected and static routes. The problem I have is that static BGP null routes on the 6506 are overriding the OSPF routes being received from the 7206. Example: The 6506 is advertising a class C network 192.168.1.0/24 to our data center. The 6506 does not utilize the 192.168.1.0/24 network. It is only used on the 7206 for customer T1 circuits and is carved up into /29 subnets. So the 6506 has a static route: ip route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 null 0. Today the routing is accomplished with static routes on the 6506 for the 192.168.1.0 networks on the 7206. Using OSPF the 7206 advertises /29 links back to the 6506, but when I withdraw one of the /29 static routes from the 6506, the /24 null route takes precedence over the more specific /29 routes and the traffic is black-holed on the 6506. how can I get the OSPF routes to look preferable to the /24 null route on the 6506?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a 7206 router which acts as a MPLS Hub router for around 100+ remote locations. Bandwidh at mpls hub(terminated on this router) is 50 Mbps.
We have noticed that Memory utilization in this router gradually increases and when it reaches 100% this router hangs. It happence in frequesncy of 10 days and we have to restart the router when memory is 100%.
CPU utilization is normal i.e below 20%, WAN bandwidth will never cross 30mbps.
We are running OSPF on this router
We could not able to upload an IOS for 7206 router with NPE-150 via xmodem as there was no image available in flash it is in rommon mode. But same can be done in 1841. So how to upload an image in flah for 7206 via xmodem.Where the IOS will be stored in 7206, wethet in flash or NPE. If it's in flash what for NPE used other than for routing engine capabilities.

Image is ipbase and on the flash. When it boots it gives the error and hangs - I changed the register value to 0x2142 but no change happened.

The Cisco 3600 series (3640) is hanged during booting proccess, the IOS is decompressed, but after some text it hanges and I even cannot go to user exec. ROMmon and bypassing the config setting, but the result is still the same.

Hardware is E1000 v2 according to sticker on back.The firmware update failed (no reason given) and the router now hangs in limbo where all it does is flashing the power LED.I set my PC to 19?2.168.1.2 and TFTP'd the firmware over to 192.168.1.1 - no errors reported and 192.168.1.1 is pingable. Held reset for 30s, then powered down the router for another 30s. On power-up the router still flashes the power LED.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave been trying for the past two days to install a new E4200. It gets to 25% in the setup and then errors out and says I need to contact customer service.
Connecting through a brand new DSL modem that I know works as I can get access through my old router.
My PC (Windows 7) is directly connected to the router. I got to the point where I named the router in the install process the first time, but then it hung.
Have tried to use the CD to re-setup with no success. I've tried the hard reset holding in the button for 10 seconds and unplugging but nothing has changed.
Whenever I want to turn off the ip cache flow and enter command "no ip flow egress" on a router interface, the router will self reboot and returned with the error message - System returned to ROM by bus error at PC message in the show version ouput.
I tried on two different routers below here and both also undergoing a cold restart when I key in the command "no ip flow egress" on the said interface

I have 2 X E4200 router, one is directly connected to the internet and the other is in the bridge mode connected to the first router. I have apple TV connected directly with the bridge router on one of the Ethernet port.I notice that when you start apple Airplay mirroring on the iPad2 both the routers will hangs with no reason and the only way to fix it is to reboot the routers. I have reset both the routers to factory default twice they both are running firmware 1.0.03 build 14 .

After some time (weeks) after a successful local login to the admin page subsequent attempt to login just hang. After entering the admin password the page changes and says "Waiting" under revolving circles. It will sit there for over 1 hour. I have tried IE, chrome and firefox on Windows 7 and Windows 8 on three different machines and it behaves the same. Of course I have to go through this same process with the support people every time and every time they come to the conclusion that I have to do a factory reset. But so far Linksys denies that there is a defect.

I recently upgraded my internet speed service from my ISP (Brighthouse). They installed a gateway to replace their old modem, but I have had it bridged so it should act as a modem. Speedtest.net shows downloads on the order of 40-50 Mbps and uploads around 5 Mbps. If I try doing something interactively that pushes the speed and size of files (like flying over Google earth using my mouse to guide the direction and speed) my connection seems to hang. I have to reset the router (unpower and repower it) to get my internet connection to work. This has also happened when I quickly downloaded a series of large images - I click to get the next page fairly soon after the current page has finished downloaded. My router is a WRT350N.
