Any issues on Cisco ISR / ISR G2 routers running 15.x code while doing NAT for large quantities of users (3000+) involving lock ups? This seems to be an ongoing issue for a customer. The symtom is present on 2811, 2911 and a 3945. The 3945 never spikes over 10% processor or memory utilization, yet still has these issues. The routers have been tested running 15.0(1)M5, 15.0(1)M7 and 15.1(4)M4 which all showed simular results. Other router side services are running such as NetFlow v9 to two destinations. Another interesting symtom, doing a "show ip nat translations" command will crash the router if executed at its peak usage period. NAT is to a single IP (sourced from outside interface), not a pool.

i have here an cisco 881 router which has been in service for about 3/4 year now.yesterday the device from one moment to an other stoped working the device does not respond on console, it does not boot (or seems to be booting) and is also not responsive on the reset hole.
powercycle has been attempted but without result. the only evidence that it is alive is the FA leds. they are all constant on.
I have 20 to 100 Mbps(FTTH) line at home. I am planning to put few servers online to serve web pages. I have tried them taking online with normal home dsl routers, but router hangs very frequently.

The Cisco 3600 series (3640) is hanged during booting proccess, the IOS is decompressed, but after some text it hanges and I even cannot go to user exec. ROMmon and bypassing the config setting, but the result is still the same.

Hardware is E1000 v2 according to sticker on back.The firmware update failed (no reason given) and the router now hangs in limbo where all it does is flashing the power LED.I set my PC to 19?2.168.1.2 and TFTP'd the firmware over to 192.168.1.1 - no errors reported and 192.168.1.1 is pingable. Held reset for 30s, then powered down the router for another 30s. On power-up the router still flashes the power LED.

Connecting through a brand new DSL modem that I know works as I can get access through my old router.
My PC (Windows 7) is directly connected to the router. I got to the point where I named the router in the install process the first time, but then it hung.
Have tried to use the CD to re-setup with no success. I've tried the hard reset holding in the button for 10 seconds and unplugging but nothing has changed.

I seem to be having an issue where certain very packets are being dropped/lost by my office router. The reproducible situation is, when I attempt a DNS zone transfer from my linux bind DNS server (A.A.A.A) to any server on my network behind NAT (Y.Y.Y.Y) the first packet (Seq 1) of the response is lost. The client making the query asks for first packet (Seq 1) to be resent, and the DNS server attempts to resend it repeatedly, but those are lost too.

I have 2 X E4200 router, one is directly connected to the internet and the other is in the bridge mode connected to the first router. I have apple TV connected directly with the bridge router on one of the Ethernet port.I notice that when you start apple Airplay mirroring on the iPad2 both the routers will hangs with no reason and the only way to fix it is to reboot the routers. I have been through three chat sessions on this without resolution and support tells me just to factory reset. After some time (weeks) after a successful local login to the admin page subsequent attempt to login just hang. After entering the admin password the page changes and says "Waiting" under revolving circles. It will sit there for over 1 hour. I have tried IE, chrome and firefox on Windows 7 and Windows 8 on three different machines and it behaves the same. Of course I have to go through this same process with the support people every time and every time they come to the conclusion that I have to do a factory reset. But so far Linksys denies that there is a defect.

I recently upgraded my internet speed service from my ISP (Brighthouse). They installed a gateway to replace their old modem, but I have had it bridged so it should act as a modem. Speedtest.net shows downloads on the order of 40-50 Mbps and uploads around 5 Mbps. If I try doing something interactively that pushes the speed and size of files (like flying over Google earth using my mouse to guide the direction and speed) my connection seems to hang. I have to reset the router (unpower and repower it) to get my internet connection to work. This has also happened when I quickly downloaded a series of large images - I click to get the next page fairly soon after the current page has finished downloaded. My router is a WRT350N.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a WRT160N router last Friday. After setting it up, everything seemed to work fine, but after a couple of hours, the router stopped responding to any requests. The LEDs stayed on as if nothing had happened, but the router was dropping everything coming from both the WAN and a wired LAN interface. Since than, I had to restart it 3 times during the last 3 days.The firmware is 1.53.0, which seems to be the latest firmware for the European market - even when I try to get a newer firmware, this site only offers the US version 1.02.2.Should I update the firmware to the US version 1.02.2 ? Is there any difference between the 1.53.0 and the 1.02.2 version ? Is there a way to restore the original firmware in case the update fails ? I haven't found any link to 1.53.0 version..Also, does this firmware updating affect my warranty ?

I have two computers in my house, one is set up directly to the modem/router and the other (in my room) is set up wireless using that belkin adapter above.
Everything has always worked perfectly, but two days ago things went haywire. If my PC connects to the wireless, then it makes the router stop working for the other computer and any wireless devices I have. As long as I don't have my PC connected, then things run smoothly and there are no problems, so it's definitely stemming from my PC?
I thought it might have been the router at first, so I switched it out and it worked fine for over 24 hours, but then the problem came back.

We have a router (7206) which connected to client device in /30 IP segment, but this device is a switch which connected to many more devices. Doing packet capture on our router interface unravel many ARP requests whcih comes from the client switch. Is there any feature or command which we can stop this?

I cannot access its control panel, the network just goes kaput. Given that I don't have access to the router since it's part of a double house (the side I'm not on of course), this is getting beyond irritating to reboot it when this happens as that is the only way to fix it. The connections are even wired, too. What kind of money does it take to get a router that is going to STAY on and just work? I'm ready to dump some serious cash into this at this point because this happens at least twice a week anymore. I just want a router that works. It needs to be wireless as my neighbor does use his kindle on it every once and a while.
