So all of a sudden the trusty HP 4000 stopped printing. A little bit of troubleshooting and I found out that the problem was the JetDirect card. I purchased a new one (615n - same model as the old one), installed it, ran a printer configuration page, confirming I have an IP (192.168.x.x) and subnet mask (255.255.255.0), config by DHCP.Also, ran a ping test and it appears to be fine?

Every day or so the Router becomes unresponsive to the HTTP mgmt interface, as well as it no longer offers DHCP services.then this happens the only remedy is to power reboot.
Everything comes back online just fine, however, the LOGS are initilaized so no data to figure out what`s going on.My next step is to setuo a syslog server and have the logs copied out.( No, I have no Torrents running at all, but I do have several devices like AppleTV, PS3s etc that run streaming Video plus I have the SPA3102 )
I have configured Squid on my system having Windows 7. I didn't missed any steps. In Services it is showing Squid running.But my internet is running directly without any proxy settings. And when i change to proxy settings at port 3128, internet stops working. I had installed earlier and it was working fine. but now I am also using ICS to share internet connection from a broadband to a lan through my system.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a switch that I have configured for jumbo packets, but they don't seem to be functioning. I have set system mtu jumbo 9000. The hosts are connected via 2x EtherChannel links. The hosts are jumbo frame enabled, and can ping their own local address using jumbo packets & do-not-fragment flags on the pings. They cannot, however, ping each other or the switch that way - it always says that the packet requires fragmentation. I know the attached machines (they're all VMs) and virtual switches support jumbos because I can ping within the virtual interfaces of the VMs. It's just traffic that goes over the switch that fragments.The switch is a WS-2960G-48TC. I am testing rogue on wire using 5508 WLC and , I have a dedicated AP configured as rogue detector and configured the switch port where the Rogue detector is connected as trunk. I have plugged in an autonomous AP with open authentication to the same switch so that it can act as a rogue. On the WLC, I can see that Autonomous AP as rogue on Wire. But along with that I am seeing another AP as rogue on wire, even though i have plugged in only one Autonomous AP to the switch.

Everything worked well until the owner of the PC got a new one, and tried to install drivers for our HP printer using the original HP install disk. I made the change in settings because I read somewhere that it would allow you to connect your blackberry. I changed the wireless settings back to what they were, reset the router, but now the wireless sign doesn't even light up on my belkin router and it always says 'unable to connect to the network'. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having difficulty connecting my desktop to my wireless network. Some details to start off: I'm using a G-Sky usb wifi adapter model number GS-28usb. I recently moved from an apartment with free wifi and I set up broadband with Qwest/CenturyLink. The modem/router is an Actiontec Q1000. The firmware is up to date (I checked) and every other device I bring into the house can connect just fine (laptop, roommate's desktop and laptop, and my blackberry) I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on all machines, with all updates currently available. My network shows up in the list of available networks, signal strength fine, but when I try to connect, it does its initial "getting information..." in the small box in the corner of the screen, then the box disappears and no connection is made. The status of my adapter at that point will say "attempting to authenticate" and will remain like that even though (apparently) windows has given up on trying to connect to the network. It never gets to the point where it asks me for the passkey. I've changed just about every variable I can think of that might affect this on the router (encryption type, b/g/n, legacy mode, compatibility mode, etc, i've renamed the network, powercycled the router, etc) all to no avail. I've tried to manually add the network settings under wireless profiles, but even though the information I put in is EXACTLY correct, under available networks its says that my settings don't match those on the network. I've tried different wireless adapters, and none will connect, so I've eliminated a faulty adapter. I can connect to my laptop with an ethernet cable, and bridge the connections so I can use the internet on my desktop, but i cannot connect directly to the router.

Ok starting about an hour ago I seem to be having a problem accessing youtube as well as Facebook & now Microsoft?I have done some searching around and tried a few of the suggestions I found including; trying another browser (happens using both Mozilla and IE), clearing internet cache, unplugging my modem for a minute then plugging it back in, etc, and so far none of these have worked. I did get youtube to work once since then long enough to upload a 10 sec video but once it was uploaded and I tried editing the video details I once again found myself taken to the page that says The connection was reset.

I have set the logging level on the 2900 router to informational and see no errors of any kind popping up when I try to scan the router from SpiceWorks. Spiceworks just returns a generic "unable to contact host" message.
The latest Firmware for the E4200 states that there is now the ability to attach a printer to the USB port of the router. I am using a Mac, so that may be the problem, but I have followed the instructions on how to add the printer and it is not happening. It's possible that the MAC Firmware was not given the ability to add a USB printer like the PC Firmware upgrade.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have run three computers on my wireless network for a few years now, and have an HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless printer that has worked seamlessly on all computers. That is, until I secured my router. I had an open wireless connection that I changed to secure (WPA) a couple of weeks ago and have been unable to connect to my printer wirelessly to print. It will print if connected to USB. The first day I was able to enter in my WPA key just fine, but not since. It doesn't appear to be finding my connection. Oddly enough one of our computers (a laptop) is able to print to this printer so I am not sure. All computers are running Windows XP, I believe with SP3. I use a D-link wireless router. I have tried using the HP solutions to no avail and have checked in the documentation that came with the printer.As an aside, I now appear to also have another wireless connection which is a "computer-to-computer" connection, I believe an ad-hoc connection?

I have enabled USB Print Server on the router and managed to print from my main PC (connected by cable to router).
However, I cannot get it to work on my laptop.
I connected my laptop running Windows 7 x64 by cable to router, ran the USB print server software (latest version downloaded from web site). The USB server software sees my printer (Canon Pixma iP4200). It appears in the list to auto-connect but there is an X against it and if I try and set it to auto connect, I get the error "the port of auto-connect can not be a LPR/Raw TCP/SMB port". Apart from the occurrence of the printer I had installed before (so, yes the printer driver is installed), the USB-server printer does not appear in my system printer list.
Just purchased new N750 model EA3500-NP and everything went ok until I tried to get my HP Laser Jet P2035n online. No go! It worked fine on the D-Link via Ethernet connection.

I have been trying to re-establish my wi-fi connection for over a day now. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 with windows 7 and it has two wifi adapters, one is the 1397wlan and the other is a virtual miniport adapter. My carrier is at&t uverse/2wire and my service was disconnected for about eight or nine days and since then I cannot get my wi-fi back. The desktop computer works fine but my network adapters are showing attempting to authenticate and not connected for the miniport adapter. I have tried enable/disable, restoring to a previous date, ipconfig/release, and of course running the trouble shooter for Microsoft. The result is that they can't assist with my connectivity issue and that its either the adapter or my router. I can use the laptop with the ethernet cord but its not practical as the router is downstairs and I primarily work upstairs.

I have an ASA pair configured to replace a router that hosts a collection of IPSec Tunnels. Tunnels appear to work. I am lab'ing some additional controls that I would like to implement. On the Production Router that i plan to replace with the ASA's the current Tunnels are all wide open (all traffic allowed to pass). I was hoping to lock things down a little without having to reconfigure all of the Tunnels. My though was that an ACL on the Inside Interface blocking selected traffic Out (so into the LAN) should not impact the stability of the Tunnels but allow me to restrict some traffic from entering the LAN. One port that I was attempting to block is RDP 3389. When this ACL is applied to the inside interface it does not block Port 3389 at all. What am I missing? Is it that the trffic is being allowed because it is coming through one of my 'open' Tunnels?
Shouldn't IPSec Tunnel traffic be processed by the Inside Interface ACL just like all other traffic?

I have installed the quick vpn which came on the cd rom with my router and as I'm running .windows 7 ultimate 64 I can just not connect. So running through the forums I find out that this is a know problem and that before going further I should run a new VPN client software. Now trying to download I cannot...I have to register..fine...done..... BUT NO now I need a I don't know which service agreement with I don't know who. I have used dozen of routers and networking gear but I have never experienced that for a owned product after registration I can not download an upgrade.
