I upgraded the IOS on my 887VA router which is not yet in service. The next day I did a cold boot and made some changes. Then, when I wrote them this warning popped up which seems to imply I need to recreate my configuration from scratch in order to avoid potential issues.Is that the correct interpretation of this message/scenario? I was working on a Cisco 2600 series router earlier today running IOS 12.4. I ran into an issue where I could not clear the startup-config. I tried:
router#erase startup-config
router#reload
router#erase nvram
router#reload

each time IP addresses and things got cleared but other aspects did not which should have been. In the nvram there were several files:

We recently installed Cisco 6509-E with dual Sup 720-BXL. We are using this switch on internet Edge. Internet connection is terminating on 10GIG fiber port.We do have following line cards installed.
1. 10 GIG * 4 port line card
2. 1 GIG * 8 port line card
3. Empty
4. Empty
5. Sup 720-3BXL
6. Sup 720-3BXL
7. 1 GIG * 48 ports
8. 1 GIG * 48 ports
9. 1 GIG * 48 ports
We do have 2 GB internet pipe.We are running load test sending http port 80 request and when load reach to arround 100 to 200 mbps and connections from out side to inside 80,000 switch start reponding very very slow and start packet loss and when I try to ping from one server to second server it show normal ping but if I tried to ping gateway IP of server which is SWITCH IP it show packet loss and very high letancy.
Switch also throw message "No memory available: Update of NVRAM configuration failed"
I am struggling to get this working after spending many hours looking at it I am now completely stuck. We are upgrading from a 857W to this 887 VA-M I have some experience of IOS and the 800 series. Our 857W works perfectly using almost the same config. Our situation is that the router will sit in front of our firewall and act essentially as a simple router passing everything through to our Firewall. Nat is done at the Firewall.
We currently have the following configuration that seems to connect the the ISP fine but I cannot connect to the vlan2 port on the switch the firewall cannot connect to he internet or route anything via the Vlan2 port no pings etc.. I am using Fast Ethernet 0 as the Vlan2 port and the rest are V LAN 1 with a local network address to allow me to connect a laptop.
We have a block of static IP addresses, the base of which is assigned to the V LAN 2 interface and used by Dialer 0 as IP Unnumbered. Config below.

I have problem since 2 weeks. My 2 macbook pro won't connect when im in my saloon, sometimes after 2 or 3 reboot it works. When i come in the same place of the AP, i'm connected directly. When I look at the force of the signal is -35 in the chamber and -55 in the saloon.My android phone and one other old mac book doesn't have problem connecting. I look at logs and I see some max retries and some authentification failed. IT's so weird. Here is my config, did you see something wrong ?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm currently reconfiguring an ASA5510 installation to a HA setup with a second 5510. The old 5510 has an "AnyConnect for Mobile" license which isn't being used. So we upgrade that one to a SecPlus License to enable failover posibilities and we bought a new 5510 also with a SecPlus license. When I'm trying to enable failover I get the message that my mate hasn't got the "AnyConnect for Mobile" license. I know for failover both devices must be exactly the same (at first i thougth that the AnyConnect license would be lost when upgrading to SecPlus). So now I'm wondering and searching for solutions to remove the AnyConnect license (because we don't use it).

On previous cameras (eg: the 932L) we could enable the FTP function to send a snapshot image every xx seconds, set a base file name, and set the Overwrite file function. On the 942L, this functionality appears to have been removed from the code. How I can get the 942L to FTP the current image every xx seconds and overwrite the file on the destination? (just like the previous cameras) Perhaps there is a new way and I can't find how to do it?

I have a Sup32 that I suspect has faulty NVRAM (e.g., I am unable to "wr mem" on the device - it states resource is busy but no other active connections exist). Prior to replacing the supervisor engine I'd like to take a crack at formatting NVRAM to see if it resolves the issue. This supervisor does not have a CF card installed, thus no Disk0:. Within the CLI, I am presented two options with the "format" command - bootflash: and sup-bootflash:. Bootflash: does not have any data on it, however, sup-bootflash: contains my IOS image. I believe that both of these locations are simply directories within NVRAM.

Now I want to investigate into possibility of ACE to insert a cookie. My question is: ACE feature of “cookie insert”: does it add additional cookie into http header without removing server cookies or it deletes the cookie(s) that server put into http header and replaces them with its own cookie?
My laptop was connecting fine to a Liknsys G router until one day it couldn't connect because it gets stuck to Attempting to authenticate. I have one more laptop, a desktop and an ipad and all connect fine to the network except of my laptop. I removed the network password but nothing again.

I have set the logging level on the 2900 router to informational and see no errors of any kind popping up when I try to scan the router from SpiceWorks. Spiceworks just returns a generic "unable to contact host" message.
I'm working as a network engineer for a service provider, and we had just gone through a pretty large scale upgrade throughout our network and service.But not long after the upgrade (or maybe ever since the upgrade, we can't confirm this because we probably missed it out due to many other links to be tested), we met a peculiar problem.Everything seems to be running fine most of the time, but there has been some weird 'ghost-like' activity which have been causing inconsistent network disruptions. At times, certain portions of the network can't communicate with other subnets.And most obviously is the problem with a continuous ping and a traceroute simultaneously. I made the change in settings because I read somewhere that it would allow you to connect your blackberry. I changed the wireless settings back to what they were, reset the router, but now the wireless sign doesn't even light up on my belkin router and it always says 'unable to connect to the network'. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having difficulty connecting my desktop to my wireless network. Some details to start off: I'm using a G-Sky usb wifi adapter model number GS-28usb. I recently moved from an apartment with free wifi and I set up broadband with Qwest/CenturyLink. The modem/router is an Actiontec Q1000. The firmware is up to date (I checked) and every other device I bring into the house can connect just fine (laptop, roommate's desktop and laptop, and my blackberry) I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on all machines, with all updates currently available. My network shows up in the list of available networks, signal strength fine, but when I try to connect, it does its initial "getting information..." in the small box in the corner of the screen, then the box disappears and no connection is made. The status of my adapter at that point will say "attempting to authenticate" and will remain like that even though (apparently) windows has given up on trying to connect to the network. It never gets to the point where it asks me for the passkey. I've changed just about every variable I can think of that might affect this on the router (encryption type, b/g/n, legacy mode, compatibility mode, etc, i've renamed the network, powercycled the router, etc) all to no avail. I've tried to manually add the network settings under wireless profiles, but even though the information I put in is EXACTLY correct, under available networks its says that my settings don't match those on the network. I've tried different wireless adapters, and none will connect, so I've eliminated a faulty adapter. I can connect to my laptop with an ethernet cable, and bridge the connections so I can use the internet on my desktop, but i cannot connect directly to the router.

Ok starting about an hour ago I seem to be having a problem accessing youtube as well as Facebook & now Microsoft?I have done some searching around and tried a few of the suggestions I found including; trying another browser (happens using both Mozilla and IE), clearing internet cache, unplugging my modem for a minute then plugging it back in, etc, and so far none of these have worked. I did get youtube to work once since then long enough to upload a 10 sec video but once it was uploaded and I tried editing the video details I once again found myself taken to the page that says The connection was reset.

I have an ASA pair configured to replace a router that hosts a collection of IPSec Tunnels. Tunnels appear to work. I am lab'ing some additional controls that I would like to implement. On the Production Router that i plan to replace with the ASA's the current Tunnels are all wide open (all traffic allowed to pass). I was hoping to lock things down a little without having to reconfigure all of the Tunnels. My though was that an ACL on the Inside Interface blocking selected traffic Out (so into the LAN) should not impact the stability of the Tunnels but allow me to restrict some traffic from entering the LAN. One port that I was attempting to block is RDP 3389. When this ACL is applied to the inside interface it does not block Port 3389 at all. What am I missing? Is it that the trffic is being allowed because it is coming through one of my 'open' Tunnels?
Shouldn't IPSec Tunnel traffic be processed by the Inside Interface ACL just like all other traffic?

This work great on a 2821 Router, but not so much on the ASA.
I have been trying to re-establish my wi-fi connection for over a day now. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 with windows 7 and it has two wifi adapters, one is the 1397wlan and the other is a virtual miniport adapter. My carrier is at&t uverse/2wire and my service was disconnected for about eight or nine days and since then I cannot get my wi-fi back. The desktop computer works fine but my network adapters are showing attempting to authenticate and not connected for the miniport adapter. I have tried enable/disable, restoring to a previous date, ipconfig/release, and of course running the trouble shooter for Microsoft. The result is that they can't assist with my connectivity issue and that its either the adapter or my router. I can use the laptop with the ethernet cord but its not practical as the router is downstairs and I primarily work upstairs.
