Cisco Switching/Routing :: 6509 Copy Sup Boot Flash To ATA Flash
Feb 26, 2012Trying to copy the system image file from the sup-bootflash to a new 64MB ATA flash card. Yes the software can support the 64MB card.
The ATA flash card was formated successfully, however I cannot copy the system image to it so that it can boot after a power loss.
The command I tried was: console(enabled) copy sup-bootflash: slot0:
The source filename was typed in as shown in the Show Verison command.The result was: Error opening slot0: no such device.I suspect that I am missing something obvious as I am new to Cisco Switches.

Unable To Clear Startup Configuration / NVRAM
Aug 14, 2012I was working on a Cisco 2600 series router earlier today running IOS 12.4. I ran into an issue where I could not clear the startup-config. I tried:
router#erase startup-config
router#reload
router#erase nvram
router#reload
[code]....
each time IP addresses and things got cleared but other aspects did not which should have been. In the nvram there were several files:
Router#dir
Directory of nvram:/
126 -rw- 2143 <no date> startup-config
127 ---- 5 <no date> private-config
128 -rw- 2143 <no date> underlying-config
1 ---- 49 <no date> persistent-data
2 -rw- 0 <no date> ifIndex-table

Feb 10, 2013I have a Sup32 that I suspect has faulty NVRAM (e.g., I am unable to "wr mem" on the device - it states resource is busy but no other active connections exist). Prior to replacing the supervisor engine I'd like to take a crack at formatting NVRAM to see if it resolves the issue. This supervisor does not have a CF card installed, thus no Disk0:. Within the CLI, I am presented two options with the "format" command - bootflash: and sup-bootflash:. Bootflash: does not have any data on it, however, sup-bootflash: contains my IOS image. I believe that both of these locations are simply directories within NVRAM.

Mar 9, 2013We recently installed Cisco 6509-E with dual Sup 720-BXL. We are using this switch on internet Edge. Internet connection is terminating on 10GIG fiber port.We do have following line cards installed.
1. 10 GIG * 4 port line card
2. 1 GIG * 8 port line card
3. Empty
4. Empty
5. Sup 720-3BXL
6. Sup 720-3BXL
7. 1 GIG * 48 ports
8. 1 GIG * 48 ports
9. 1 GIG * 48 ports
We do have 2 GB internet pipe.We are running load test sending http port 80 request and when load reach to arround 100 to 200 mbps and connections from out side to inside 80,000 switch start reponding very very slow and start packet loss and when I try to ping from one server to second server it show normal ping but if I tried to ping gateway IP of server which is SWITCH IP it show packet loss and very high letancy.
Switch also throw message "No memory available: Update of NVRAM configuration failed"

The AIR BR1310G was part of the schools campus wide WiFi network and was upgraded to an lwapp image c1310-k9w8-m 12.4 3c JA. Our home sits on a large lot and I would like to convert the BR1310G back to an autonomous AP.
In order convert it back to an automonous AP, I will need the original image. The school used a contractor for their WiFi network and they do not have a backup of the original image. I do not have a service account with Cisco so downloading the autonomous image from the Cisco website is out. What are my options for either obtaining an image file or using the current managed image without a WLC?

Jan 11, 2012I am needing to upgrade the Flash card on our current ASA from 64mb to a 1GB card to make way from upgrading from 8.0 to 8.4. When i copy all the contents from the 64MB card through a card reader i am not getting the startup-config file copied over. I checked to make sure that all hidden files are shown, but i am not seeing it. I backed up the startup-config from the old 64mb card to a tftp server before switching the cards out. I've gotten the image to upload (according to the browser), but at 100% the flashing orange light & globe light just continue to blink & do nothing. I get to the emergency firmware page...set it upload Version A1. Sometimes it uploads...but like I said, it never takes.
