By the way, I already downloaded the IOS for our switch through Cisco Website. Settings are default through Hyper Terminal
Here's the thing:
Whenever I transfer the .bin file using XMODEM, it prompted an error "Transfer cancelled by remote computer"
I want upgrade my switches 2960-24PC-L RAM: 128MB and Flash: 28MB, but in the web page of cisco I see that the requirement of hardware is RAM: 128MB and Flash: 32MB.
I download the IOS file and this file is only 11.2MB so my question is if I can upgrade the IOS because my flash is enough for upload the IOS file.
Trying to copy the system image file from the sup-bootflash to a new 64MB ATA flash card. Yes the software can support the 64MB card.
The ATA flash card was formated successfully, however I cannot copy the system image to it so that it can boot after a power loss.
The command I tried was: console(enabled) copy sup-bootflash: slot0:
The source filename was typed in as shown in the Show Verison command.The result was: Error opening slot0: no such device.I suspect that I am missing something obvious as I am new to Cisco Switches.
This one is kicking my butt.I have an MPLS network with three stes.Site1 is where all my servers reside.Site2 and Site3 just have a few PC's.From Site2 and Site3 I cannot access the server at Site1 via http://IPADRESS.Of.Server.I am able to ping just fine.I thought it may be a router issue but... there is is a single PC at Site2 that can access it with out any issues.All the IP settings (Default GW, DNS, etc...) match the other PCs.The windows firewall is turned off on all PC's. AVG is disabled on the PCs.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a DSL line at work that we use to test external services provided to external users on our primary Internet circuit (Citrix, web applications, etc). Because this DSL line is for testing only, we want to lock it down so the only destinations allowed through the firewall are our own IP spaces.
I purchased a WRVS4400N for this purpose, thinking I could use the IP based ACL list to create these restrictions. However, every time I try to create an ACL, the internet slows to a crawl, and many sites don't come up at all. This occurs even if the ACL rule I add is a simple "allow any any" rule similar to the default rules.
Is this a known issue, or am I configuring something incorrectly? Here's an example of a rule I'm using (IP not real):
Action Service Source Interface Source Destination Time Day
Allow All Protocol LAN ANY 1.2.3.0/255.255.255.240* Any Time Every Day
I also get the problem with a simple allow from a single IP (mine) to any destination, without any other rules enabled.

I have two routers 1921 and 2901 and both of them are connecting to one Reliable Internet Line from one ISP. 1921 master router and 2901 as a Slave. this is my question, how i can make a Backup DHCP Sever in 2901 as a same IP address generation?
Example :

2901-------> Ip Generate 10.1.1.0 /24
both generate same ip address, when the Master is lost, Slave could be Covered the LAN.
We have Cisco 3750G switches and have them setup to use Cisco ACS 5.2.0.26.5. Some switches after they are restarted and we know that the config is saved the server address for the AAA authentication is dropped. We are running IOS c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE. I have started to upgrade switches to c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE5 to fix an issue with reporting high drops in Solarwinds.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my cable modem from the Motorola Sufboard 5120 to the DOCSIS 3.0 capable 6120. Provisioned it with Comcast and their "Blast" service (supposedly it caps at 16 down, 2 up).
I had, in the past, used my desktop via N-format wireless (DWA-525 N-format PCI adapter and DIR-655 N-format router) to do a speedtest.net test. I was getting 16 down and 2 up (as advertised). When I switched to the 6120, I did a speedtest.net test again to see what kind of gains, if any, I was getting. Turns out, I was getting 20+ down (nice improvement) and 1/2 Mbps up (a fourth of what I used to be getting?). Called Comcast. They "sent signals" (don't they always?) and claimed that it fixed it. My download speeds increased a smidge (about 22), but my upload speeds were still .5. Called Motorola, they had me do a few things and now I get 1 Mbps up and 27 - 30 down via wireless.
My download speeds are great. I'm content with that. If I hardwire from the cable modem directly to a ****py old laptop, a speedtest.net shows 4 Mbps up. So why do I get such a high upload speed when hardwired (4 Mbps), but a fraction of it (1/4th) when wireless? I'm not using any other devices to sap bandwidth (some are connected -- i.e. another desktop, my Droid phone, etc., but aren't actively pulling packets). And why would it go from 2 up (on my desktop via wireless in the past) to only 1 up (via wireless now) when the setup is the same across the board (as best I recall) other than upgrading my cable modem.
Since I get 4 up when hardwired straight off the cable modem, I assume my DIR-655 is slowing me down somehow. How to pick up the pace a bit? I've already tried the standard "power cycling", etc.
Oh, and the reason I go wireless -- my cable modem and wireless router are in my game room in the basement for my PS3. My desktop computer (and the wife's desktop computer) are two floors directly above it in our "office". Signal strength is "excellent" ... always has been. And again, pretty much everything is the same.

I am using TFTPD32 to upgrade the IOS on a router. When I type in the commands copy tftp flash and enter all the necessary information, the router sits for a minute or so and then times out. I mean i go on skype and talk to my friends but when i have to upload a .jpg or i want to send somebody a message with bigger content than 5 KB it just keeps uploading but does nothing. I searched for virus and even disabled my firewall but it doesn't seem to work.

Orange Amber power light, no wireless radios, unable to access it via its configured ip or default (192.168.0.1). It will not respond to pings, give arps, or obviously the web browser session.Is there any way to reflash these things manually or do I have to send it in?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUploading keeps switching from ridiculously slow to nonexistent. When it's ridiculously slow, it can take 5-10 minutes to upload a 100kb photo. When it's nonexistent, it basically disables my connection, and the only way to get it back is to reboot. It doesn't seem to matter what website I'm on; anything from uploading a photo to Facebook to trying to attach a file to Gmail does not work. It's definitely computer-specific, because I have a second laptop on the same network that uploads just fine.

I've not been able to upload anything on this computer now since about July that's more than a few kb. This has been since I reformatted the hard drive.That means:
1. I can't attach anything to an e-mail
2. I can't upload anything to fb
3. I can't upload anything to sendspace etc.
The problem is only on this computer. I've tried the router on another computer and I can upload on that. I have tried the following:
1. Turned off Firewalls.
2. Turned off Norton Antivirus.
Nothing. I am on Vista and there are no additional service packs downloaded.I have also tried the speedtest site. It is unable to do the "upload" test. Downloads are fine.

Plus DD-WRT GUI is VERY slow for me?I've followed every tutorial on how to do this, but the router will not accept the stock firmware. I've gotten the image to upload (according to the browser), but at 100% the flashing orange light & globe light just continue to blink & do nothing. I never see the other lights "flash" confirming the upgrade has took. I've set my IP manually through "Network Connections>Properties>TCP/IPv4" before trying. I get to the emergency firmware page...set it upload Version A1. Sometimes it uploads...but like I said, it never takes.

- successfully entered emergency room
- uploaded the bin file
- power light turns off (but link to machine light still on)
- left it for a good 10 mins to be sure, and still no life out of it
- power cycled and router goes back to emergency room
So i then tried to revert back to the V1.00VG;
