I recently switched from wireless connection to a normal one because i had speed issues with my internet but since then i can download just fine, even faster than before, but my computer seems to be unable to upload any data on the internet. I mean i go on skype and talk to my friends but when i have to upload a .jpg or i want to send somebody a message with bigger content than 5 KB it just keeps uploading but does nothing. I searched for virus and even disabled my firewall but it doesn't seem to work.
I just upgraded my cable modem from the Motorola Sufboard 5120 to the DOCSIS 3.0 capable 6120. Provisioned it with Comcast and their "Blast" service (supposedly it caps at 16 down, 2 up).
I had, in the past, used my desktop via N-format wireless (DWA-525 N-format PCI adapter and DIR-655 N-format router) to do a speedtest.net test. I was getting 16 down and 2 up (as advertised). When I switched to the 6120, I did a speedtest.net test again to see what kind of gains, if any, I was getting. Turns out, I was getting 20+ down (nice improvement) and 1/2 Mbps up (a fourth of what I used to be getting?). Called Comcast. They "sent signals" (don't they always?) and claimed that it fixed it. My download speeds increased a smidge (about 22), but my upload speeds were still .5. Called Motorola, they had me do a few things and now I get 1 Mbps up and 27 - 30 down via wireless.
My download speeds are great. I'm content with that. If I hardwire from the cable modem directly to a ****py old laptop, a speedtest.net shows 4 Mbps up. So why do I get such a high upload speed when hardwired (4 Mbps), but a fraction of it (1/4th) when wireless? I'm not using any other devices to sap bandwidth (some are connected -- i.e. another desktop, my Droid phone, etc., but aren't actively pulling packets). And why would it go from 2 up (on my desktop via wireless in the past) to only 1 up (via wireless now) when the setup is the same across the board (as best I recall) other than upgrading my cable modem.
Since I get 4 up when hardwired straight off the cable modem, I assume my DIR-655 is slowing me down somehow. How to pick up the pace a bit? I've already tried the standard "power cycling", etc.
Oh, and the reason I go wireless -- my cable modem and wireless router are in my game room in the basement for my PS3. My desktop computer (and the wife's desktop computer) are two floors directly above it in our "office". Signal strength is "excellent" ... always has been. And again, pretty much everything is the same.
I have 50GB storage on box.com and DropBox.So i just want to back up my files there.Web interface just sucks and offers no customization.Their desktop programs are only to sync, and dont do much to just upload.I dont wanna sync folders, i just want to upload files!
I was uploading a big 2gb file to my FTP server, it was all going good and I managed to upload the whole thing hassle free. After I finish I log out, and return about 3 hours later and try to log back in, to no avail.WinSCP gives me the following error:
I ru n the speed test from my desktop and laptop and the download speed are in the same range in both pc's, around 20mb/s. However the upload speed is higher in the laptop (around 4 mb/s) compared the desktop (300 kb/s)My connection is supposed to run at 50 mb/s and 5mb/s?
Uploading keeps switching from ridiculously slow to nonexistent. When it's ridiculously slow, it can take 5-10 minutes to upload a 100kb photo. When it's nonexistent, it basically disables my connection, and the only way to get it back is to reboot. It doesn't seem to matter what website I'm on; anything from uploading a photo to Facebook to trying to attach a file to Gmail does not work. It's definitely computer-specific, because I have a second laptop on the same network that uploads just fine.
My new computer can't upload any of my files like in facebook and yahoo. I try some speed test, download is okay but upload is not. I turned off my firewall and nothing happens.

I want to upload flash from a sever, as if I was uploading with flash, instead of a browser. I was told something about rfc..(Flash download request)Anyways, is their any sites, etc, that I can use?
I've not been able to upload anything on this computer now since about July that's more than a few kb. This has been since I reformatted the hard drive. That means:
1. I can't attach anything to an e-mail 2. I can't upload anything to fb 3. I can't upload anything to sendspace etc.
The problem is only on this computer. I've tried the router on another computer and I can upload on that. I have tried the following:
1. Turned off Firewalls. 2. Turned off Norton Antivirus.
Nothing. I am on Vista and there are no additional service packs downloaded.I have also tried the speedtest site. It is unable to do the "upload" test. Downloads are fine.
About 2 months or so ago, my upload speed just pretty much stopped working. Nothing changed with my PC/modem/router, so I don't know what happened. My download speed is FINE, fast like it's always been(over 20 Mbps). I can upload a file maybe 500KB or lower, but it takes several minutes. If I try to upload anything bigger, it doesn't work(errors/gets stuck).
It's not my PC because I have the same problem on my tablet and ipod. It's not the router because I tested it by just hooking up the modem directly to my PC.
At speedtest.net, it just gets stuck on the upload test and never gives me results.
I rent my modem from Comcast. Should I just bring this modem in and get a new one?
I can't upload on file-sharing sites , I have tried to upload on wupload.com , fileserve.com , ****file.com and other sites and I click to upload but the progress don't start only stay in 0% I have waited 3 hours to upload a music with 150 MB and still in 0% progress .
This is the first PC I have ever built, but I built it with a buddy who is very experienced and everything went okay. The computer is maybe 3-4 weeks old now, everything is running fine, until today when I decided I wanted to try streaming some Diablo 3.This is when I discovered my upload speed was absolute garbage.I have verizon FIOS - I pay for 15/5, the download speed is always at 20+ mbps, I have never had any problems with it., but my upload speed is fluctuating between .34-1.5 mbps, changing every second.I know this is a problem with the computer because I brought in my old laptop, unplugged the ethernet from my new desktop, plugged it into the laptop in order to keep all variables the same, and it was getting 25/5 without any hesitation. When I was downloading the drivers for my mobo I installed something called Windows Firewall with Advanced Security(maybe that was with a windows update, im not sure).
I bought comcast xfinity internet about a month ago, and I cannot get any upload speed. It's jammed up at about .40, and I'm paying for 3-4 mbs. My plan is 15/3, but the download speed is always over 20 mbs, while the upload is .40.
Comcast has been here twice with two new modems, and ran brand new cable under the house, because they said the signal was weak. Now it's strong, the modem is fine, and there is STILL no upload. I can barely upload pics to photobucket. Comcast basically told me there is nothing wrong on their end, and there is nothing they can do. The signal is strong, the modem is fine, the cabling is fine, and they are providing their service on their end.
I uploaded an .avi media file, which filled 2.81GB and it took me 7 hours!I was like holy ***, how is it even possible for it to take so long time for an file that only fills 2.81GB?
How much faster is a T1 (1.5 Mbs) link vs. a 128Kbs link? Is it as simple as dividing one into the other which would equal roughly 11 times faster? What will this look like for the user who goes from 128K one day to a T!
I am having a really important/big problem, 2weeks ago i try to upload in my deviantart, facebook, tumblr, blog etc..it worked great but on 1st june i got the upload problem. It take infinite time to upload 800kb.
I am using wireless internet. My isp name is tata photon+ LINK OF MY ISP
I'm having a big trouble with my internet connection. The Upload speed is extremely slow after i got a new mainboard, that problem appears.[code] I'm tired with my suck internet connection! Upload a 1MB photo to Facebook took me hours..This problem has started for a week.
ISP is Comcast. The routers hardware version is A4 with firmware v.1.33NA. The upload speed used to be above 4Mbps but recently it has gone down to below 1Mbps. It comes back to above 4Mbps if the router is bypassed or the PC is directly connected to the modem. If I on/off power cycle the router, the speed comes back but only for short period. I tried a new DIR655 of hardware v.B1 with firmware v.2.00 but exact same problem was noticed. I tried my old spare router of Linksys WRT54G and no such problem was noticed.
I need to upload IOS c7200-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T16.binin 7206 NPE 400 router , As per cisco recommendation router should have DRAM : 256 MB ; Flash : 64I think my router contain only DRAM= 128 MB but not sure.
how much DRAM & Flash it contains.

I would like to upload the signed certification to LMS 4.2.2.After checking ( 4. option ) I choosed the 6. option and press "y" for questions and the perl script is freezing.
Have existing 1811 router works fine. Purchased 2911 configured same as 1811. Download speed same as the 1811 the upload on the 1811 is 60 mb. the upload on the 2911 is 2 mb.
I just built a new computer with most of the bells and whistles. Asus P8Z77-V pro motherboard, Intel I7 3770K CPU, NVIDIA GTX 560TI, SSD for my boot drive, HDD for storage both running on SATA III, 16 GB of RAMMy problem is that when I connect to the internet via an ethernet cord, my download speeds are about 58 MBPS which is fine but upload speeds are only about .3 mbps. I have changed cables 3 times and connected directly to the modem rather than the router which would indicate an ISP issue. The kicker is that when I disable the LAN network and enable my wireless network, I get slower download speeds as expected but my upload speeds are closer to 5 MBPS, more than 10X times faster which throws my ISP theory out the window a bit.
I did a search and came across this board because I too am having the same issues with wireless connection. I went as far as buying a new router, which like the original post stated, worked well for a few and then stopped. It's frustrating because I need the wireless connection for many items I use at home.
First discovered this problem because I was unable to connect to a particular web site that was functional according to a friend that I was talking to on the telephone while trying to connect.
Problem: Network UPLOAD speed is randomly reduced from 2Mb to 600Kb while download speed seems unaffected (Abt. 30 to 50Mb). First eliminated the router, modem and cables as suspects working with ISP tech support. CAT 5 cabling to router and cable modem. Then I discovered that another machine on the network did not have this problem. I then discovered that disabling the network and re-enabling the network cured the problem.....temporarily. Downloaded and installed latest NIC driver from MB web site. No solution. Downloaded and installed latest NIC driver from Realtek web site. No solution. Updated MB BIOS. No solution.
MB= Asus M5A97 EVO CPU: AMD FX-4100 OS: MS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 (Latest updates) RAM: 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz (11-11-11-28 NIC on MB Realtek PCIe GBE
Disabled TCP/IPV6. No solution. I suspect it is one of the "Advanced" settings for the Realtek PCIe GBE, but I don't know what they do. Anytime I disable and re-enable the network adapter my upload speed returns to normal. I haven't been able to isolate a particular action that causes the slow-down. The attached pics show speed test, before and after disable - re-enable network adapter. Same server.
