i jus restarted my computer and i cant connect to the internet... it says im connected on the bottom corner and even my network connections says connected to wifi. I am using a netgear flash drive plug in. but wen i go to my task manager under the networking tab it says that there are no active network adapters found... what do i do?
View 1 RepliesI have a WPC54G version 4 wireless-G notebook adapter. I cannot find anywhere even here the driver for this device? I read the forums and have been googling all morning and I found one topic that said that version 3 (Vista compatible) WPC54G_V31_driver_4.100.15.5_vista.exe..will work with ver 4. I have tried it and my adapter will still not see the files in the extracted folder. There's 5 files in the folder and when I do the hardware/update driver method it won't see the drivers. I have tried all the other version and none will load??
How can I get this driver to work with my Windows XP? I don't have the CD anymore.
Just bought this Linksys AE3000 Wireless Adapter. I followed the directions, run Setup on DVD....then plug unit it.Adapter NOT Found!Unit Blinks Blue light every 8 seconds..

I have had an issue with my AE2500 wireless adapter. I am using a LInksys E2500 dual band router but my samsung laptop's wireless adapter doesn't support 5ghz band, so bought the AE2500.I disabled the internal adapter and got the AE2500 connected up. I've set up the 5ghz channel with wireless N, and left 2.5ghz as it was. Somehow I am now experiencing slower speeds on both bands, when using speedtest.net's speed test. It's the 2nd time in my life I am having an issue like this, where I am adding something with capacity for more speed but end up things being worse. Previous was with a netgear adapter and router a few years ago. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I honestly don't think so.Also best sequence to get the new adapter connected? Should I do it before I disable the existing adapter?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Packard Bell Laptop using Windows XP OS and doesn't have Wireless Connection. So long ago i bought a Linksys by Cisco Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54G v.1.2 but didn't have time to set it up or use it for travelling conditions. A couple years later when i came back to check on the laptop, i noticed that i lost the setup CD. So i went on the Linksys website and looked for the driver the download. On the back of the Adapter(card) it says it is version 1.2. But this version is unavailable on the Linksys Website. I could only find v.1, 2,3,3.1 and 7. v.1 gives a driver of v3.1 etc... AND NOT VICE-VERSA.So first when i inserted the card into the slot , the PC didnt detect it. It only detected it rarely if i insert another driver (eg: USB..). And so a window would pop up to install but i didnt know what to do there. When i downloaded the v.1 driver from the website and installed it, it seemed not the detect the card either, it would just say searching for wireless, but that's it. It would keep searching for hours even when im next to the router.finally, only the Power led light on the card is lit up but not the "Link" led.

I am planning to share the load and make it active/active making first context active on the primary unit and second context active on the secondary unit. My question is if this will disrupt any connectivity thru these firewalls when I do "no failover" on the active/standby and assign the contexts to different failover groups and enable the failover back.

The hard drives were loaded with junk so i decided to do a fresh install with my Windows XP cd. Everything looks like its working great except it seems as if ive lost all drivers necessary to connect to the internet. My network adapters are recognised (1394 Net Adapter, Intel Pro/1000 PM Network Connection), but in unknown Devices the 'Network Controller' drivers are not found (there was a Ralink RT2500 slot before, I'm assuming this is the missing driver??). EVEREST Home Edition recognises a Ralink RT2500 802.11g Wireless Network Adapter (PCI), and my PC finds new hardware on reboot, but it cannot find drivers at all. I've tried a few methods, such as Driver Detective etc. but don't have the original restore CD any more, so don't want to tamper with any other "out of date" drivers. I am not in a situation where I can order a restore CD, so I'm hesitant to System Restore in case something else becomes unresolvable.

My ethernet was plugged in and everything was as it should be. I went in to device manager and noticed that my realtek network controller was not in the device list under network adapters. I then tried to reinstall my LAN drivers from ASUS (my motherboard) which is how I got it to work in the first place. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking at deploying a pair of 5585X's in an active/active multiple context state. I am creating Mulitple contexts that need to be able to route to each other. I was going to deploy a type of Gateway context that has a shared interface to all of the other contexts, instead of sharing interfaces directly between the contexts, i beleive this will work as basically i am just cascadng the contexts and sharing interfaces.
The main problem i have come across, is that if i deploy active/active across two appliances using 2 failover groups i can not see a way to route between them, for example.
I have Context 1, Context 2 and Context GW A including the shared interfaces of Con1 and Con2 in failover group 1 on appliance A with the respective standbys on Appliance 2. I have Context 2, Context 4 and Context GW B including the shared interfaces of Con 3 and Con 4 in failover group 2 on appliance B with the respective standbys on Appliance 1.
I need to be able to route traffic between Context GW A and GW B so that the contexts can communicate in normal operation and in failover. I do not beleive that I can share an interface between contexts in two separate failover groups and to be honest without adding a L3 device between the appliances i am not sure if this is possible.
I have two ASA 5510s running in Active/Active mode. I need to make config changes on them. How do I go about it? Do I power off the secondary ASA and make the config changes on the primary and then power on the secondary ASA ? Or this another way to do this?

We have fiber connecting the two locations and vlans passing back and forth so I will be able to configure the failover via a vlan as well as extend the ISP's to each location via vlans. The Active/Active configuration with the multiple security contexts does not seem to be an issue but how is a redundant ISP configured in this mode?We want to have context A using the ASA in location A with ISP1 as the primary and failing over to ISP 2 in locaiton B We also want to have context B using the ASA in location B with ISP 2 as the primary and failing over to ISP1 in location A Would route tracking provide the desired result? Is there a better option?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 2 asa 5520 firewalls including and 1 AIP-SSM-10 module in each of them. the configuration is set using active/active failover and context mode.
Both of them run individualy the IPS module. The IPS is configured using inline mode and fail-open option. However when one of the module fails and the state is changing from up to init or anything else making the IPS to fail then failover is detected and ASA consider it as failover and bounce context to the other unit.
IPS soft is 6.0(4) and ASA soft is 8.0(3)
I have checked cisco doc and it is confusing to me. it says: "The AIP-SSM does not participate in stateful failover if stateful failover is configured on the ASA failover pair." but it really does participate. Running is not really an option because of production network impact matter..

You can connect fine on all the others. I am running Windows 7 SP1, and in the network window, I can see the computers, but when I click on them to connect, it says "The network path was not found". If I access them via their IP in windows explorer, then I can access them . I have never seen this before. I attempted to disable Norton, I even un-installed it, and it still does the same thing.

I checked into a hotel and just cannot find the wifi network on this laptop..IT is a named network and yet all i see is an unnamed network on my list of networks found. My blackberry device can easily locate the network..but the laptop simply refuses. I have tried restarting, playing around with the advanced propoerties of the wifi adapter but all in vain. I can use the office wifi ont he same laptop without any issue..but not in my hotel.
