View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus Model U56E. Recently the wireless has been disappearing whenever I turn off my laptop. What I mean is that when I turn on my laptop, the wireless doesnt seem to exist. I go under device manager and all I have is the eternet and my bluetooth device. About 85% of the time, when I go under "action" and click on "scan for hardware changes" the my Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N1030 will show up along with the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adaptor and I'll get my wireless back. However, when my laptop turns off, the same thing happens.
In addition, my fn F2 button no longer seems to work. I'll press on it and majority of the time my light that signals that the wireless is working does not turn on. Most of the time it stays off whether or not I am connected to the wireless
This is what I already attempted to fix it, based on googling for answers:
1. Under the properties of my wireless and miniport adapter, I went under power management and unchecked the box that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
2. I went to my laptop's power plan and changed all my wireless adapter settings "power saving mode" to maximum performance for both battery and cord
3. I went to the intel website, had it look at my laptop wireless system and followed their recommendation of installing an updated wireless software thing. All that happened was that it told me to disable my old wireless and then install it. However, even though I followed their instructions, it continued to repeat the same message. I had to perform a system restore to get my old wireless back
4. I disabled wireless console 3 (by Asus) under programs and it seemed to work. My laptop was getting connected whenever I turned it on. However, the next day my laptop updated itself (b/c of my system restore) and I am back to the same situation except my wireless console is still disabled.
I have an ACER Aspire 1830 (netbook) and has 3g build in according to the teacher, and it obviously is in because the sim has been put in the laptop (The scrap is in the box from the sim). Everytime I try to use it it says that my APN is incorrect.
I have taken a few steps to try and fix this:
1. I have changed the APN to all of the possible ones from Telstra (telstra.internet, telstra.data, etc.), and none of them seemed to have worked.
2. I asked a friend who has the same laptop whos 3g IS working to check the details on his laptop, and there is no APN or user/pass in his laptop.
Acer Aspire 5733 connects at 65Mbps over wireless-N and only has 1 ariel/antenna internally (but has 2 ports)...does this effect range?

There is only one choice, (being Belkin) in Home Group and would like to take my puter to another room in my house using my WIFI modem occasionally. It did work fantastic at a friends house hooking up to their WIFI. I have been looking for a manual to download, but can't seem to find one on line or at the Acer home page.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought a wireless router (DIR-615) from dlink. After installing it my laptop cannot connect to the wifi network but all other devices(iphones,etc..) can. After speaking with the dlink techs they told me it probably was a problem with my wifi adapter. I downloaded the latest driver with no success. I don't know what to try anymore.

I have an ACER Aspire 5552 laptop. A couple of days ago started having problems connecting to the Internet. Seems to connect to WiFi ok but no Internet connection. I know the router's fine and there is Internet connection because my phone's connected to Internet fine. Even when I use Ethernet cable, it still says there is no Internet connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy ancient HP desktop connects to the network via wired connection. My laptop connects wirelessly (usually). Both have very strong signals from the router and the desktop connects to the internet just like always, but the laptop isn't getting the internet signal. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5534 (Costco special) and the router is a Linksys Simultaneous Dual Band N-type. The only real significant thing that was done on the laptop was to install Adobe Shockwave Player with Norton Scan. I already have McAfee on the laptop tho, so I uninstalled the Norton. I'm going to do a system restore in a moment.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop works fine on my network for 80% of the time but the rest of the time I get yellow triangle and the system says limited access. The annoying bit is that when this happens my smartphone is still connected to my wifi network and works perfectly so I can only assume there is a fault on the laptop. I take out the network adapter plug then plug it in and the laptop usually reconnects but sometimes it can take about half an hour!
My laptop is an acer aspire6935 and the operating system is windowsvista home premium. The wireless router is connected to a desktop via a yellow data cable.
One of my laptops (Acer Aspire 5741) won't connect to the internet, it stopped connecting last night at around 9pm UK time. It shows an ! in a triangle over my Internet Access bars. When I troubleshoot the message is 'Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues'. My Compaq mini netbook is not experiencing any problems though. I have tried resetting the router, removing and readding the home network and checking the security key is correct -I do also have a VPN from my university which has been installed since April without any problems. Both the laptop and notebook use windows 7 and Firefox.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just did a clean format on my acer aspire 5100 laptop, everything went flawlessly until the last driver - the network driver. I installed the Atheros WLAN wifi driver and it installed fine. However, it showed a bubble in the task bar saying "Wireless networks detected, click here to connect" so i clicked the bubble and the network connection tab popped up, but it says "No wireless networks were found in range". I don't know what to do, it is recognizing there are networks in range, and then telling me there aren't and none pop up in the list.
The network adapter is: Atheros AR5005G and it is working properly
Edit: I can connect using ethernet, it's just not showing any routers in the network list to connect to

When downloading files using chrome I keep getting "unknown network error" before the download is complete. Why is this happening and what can I do about it? I am using vista on an acer aspire 5535 laptop. I tried using internet explorer a few times instead but it has also happened there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a netgear n300 wnr2200 router. The first day I set up the network and everything worked fine ( my ISP don't require any passwords etc, standard automatic set up - basically just typing a SSID and a password ( WEP)). The Internet worked perfectly and my iPhone, iPad, ps3 all connects without any problems whatsoever! without any more management than typing password. My laptop, acer aspire 3820tg (windows 7) worked perfectly the initial day. After this it struggles to connect. I will sometimes get the "could not connect to ...." message. Sometimes using the troubleshoot it wil fix the problem by itself. Most times not,
What is weird is that even if I get a connection I will at random intervals get " local access only" or completely dropping the connection. ( then it usually will not connect again) He wifi signal is 100%. I'm not able to make it work in a stable fashion. I have tried updating to the latest network driver for my laptops broadcom wifi adapter (from acer driver site) but this changed nothing. Turning on/off the wifi adapter does not work. Rebooting sometimes works but it's completely random. Sometimes going to network properties and enabling active settings for WLAN will let it connect (sorry if this is not the correct wording, my windows is in Norwegian) (it's the lowest box that you can check, and when this is done you can press "configure" . When pressing it just says cisco something is enabled and showing an "okay box " )
When connecting to the router, it says it has the latest firmware.
Example today: I boot pc, get an error message saying it cannot connect. I try letting windows solve it- doesn't work. I try reboot - doesn't work. I try activate WLAN settings - doesn't work. I reboot the pc - doesn't work. Third reboot (only difference is that pc is placed in a different table in my living room) and I magically get a connection. With active WLAN setting being enabled prior to boot!
I moved my pc 5 meters to another table, wifi signal is 100% but it starts dropping to only local connection !?!? I move back, and it's working again.. Funny thing is that the router is only 7 meters from the table where it's not working ( this could be a coincidence) and i can use the wifi in rooms much further away with devices that shouldn't have better WLAN adaptors(such as iPhone). I have never had any trouble with Internet connections on wifi with this laptop prior to this!
I have an Acer Aspire 3810T, recently I reloaded windows 7 to get rid of a virus. It functioned normally for about a day and then it stopped connecting to the internetEvery other wifi enabled device I have connects just fine so its not my modem. It says its connected to the network but there's no internet access. I've tried troubleshooting, but the only suggestion it gives me is to reset my modem, which I know isnt the problem.

I have a D-link DIR-825 router and it has worked every time except today. I havent used my Netbook very much at home though, maybe a few times a year as I usually take it with me on trips.
I attempted to narrow down the problem. I called D-link as my router was still under warranty. They advised clearing all my old connections and rebooting but I got the same problem. I told them my Sony PS3 works, so they suggested I contact Acer as they think it is not the router. My direct hardwire connection also works.
I then took my Netbook to Best Buy and it worked there. The guy said they can pay a visit to my house as it is probably interference of some sort. This will cost $100. Why would my PS3 work if it was interference? Maybe its the proximity of my Netbook to something, but I tried it near my PS3 and it still had the same problem.
Id rather try to solve the problem myself first. I havent changed anything except a modem and Windows 7 updates.
I have an acer aspire 5520. Our wireless connection has worked fine for years and now all of the sudden it will no longer work. I have tries system restore and just about everything else suggested and it still is not working.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy family recently purchased an Acer Aspire One netbook running Windows 7. Unfortunately, once I got it out of the box and tried to connect to the internet, I had some problems. My family predominantly uses Apple devices - in fact, this netbook is the only PC that we have in the house. All of our Apple devices work wonderfully with our current Wi-Fi connection (iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, etc). The Acer is able to detect our wireless, and it even says that it's "connected" with excellent signal strength. However, it says it is an "Unidentified Network" with "no internet access." To see if this problem limited to just that wi-fi connection, I hooked up my Verizon Wireless Mi-Fi and it worked just fine with the Acer.
