I'm looking to add a VPN service, and would prefer to have it right at the router rather then at the individual devices. With the ADSL Netgrear N600 DGND3700 router, any VPN that will interface with my router? I know many VPN's work with DD-WRT, but what about my stock FW on the router?

It is running Windows 8.It connects to other peoples WIFI, just not my home WIFI.When he got it home he found the network, entered the password and nothing happened. Now it can't even find the network.There is nothing wrong with the router as every other device connects fine.The router is a Netgear n600 - DGND3700?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a DGND3700, but can't get wifi working. It connects to the internet fine, but devices can only connect via ethernet cable. I can see the SSIDs - both 2.4GHz and 5GHz - but whenever I try to connect, after entering the password I'm told that "Windows was unable to connect to (SSID)". Of course, the Windows troubleshooter, but no luck. This problem happens across all my PCs and phones. The router has the latest firmware version. All blocking, access control, etc. settings are turned off.

PC Windows XP Home Premium Media addition - Main PC X2 Laptops Win7 & Vista - fully working on wireless no issues.
I have managed to get two laptops working wirelessly with no problems, my main problem is the master pc needs to be able to use this router as well, but I cannot get it to work via the Ethernet cable!! I can get to to the Routers config page, I have done the following:
unplugged and removed the speedtouch modem, the old dial up connection is still available on the pc along with the speedtouch software and driver, I left this in place just in case the pc needs to revert back to the speedtouch modem, if I am unable to resolve this issue.
I have set the ip address on the PC to static and input the relavent Subnet and Gateway I can ping the Routers address 192.168.0.1 even though I have reserved the PC's Mac address and IP Adress I am unable to get to the internet. I have tried setting up a new internet connection via windows wizard.
when i look into the nework connections section in windows the local area connection is 100mb and there seems to be another connection which looks like another internet connection this indicates I am connected however I still cannot get an actual google session running.
Running a small office and my Internet comes in via a Netgear DGND3700 wireless modem router. It has to be in a seperate room to the office so I have run a network cable to connect. I have a Brother network printer and 2 Macs which need to be on the same network. I own a small netgear FS105 but when I put it on the end of the ethernet cable from the router and connect everything into the switch nothing can get IP addresses from the router, which has DCHP on.If I plug the printer direct, it works and the macs work wirelessly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave just had a stab at using my Netgear DGND3700's USB drive sharing - I had a spare external HDD + I want to be able to access files on it both over the 'net and from local network. Both work fine, very easy to set up, however I am unable to edit settings for the shared folder, which means I am unable to password protect it.
I don't need a password for local sharing but obviously it isn't ideal to have files freely available on the Internet, have looked into troubleshooting but can't find any similar stories with Netgears.I click "edit" or "create network folder" and it loads for a second or two but just stays on the same page. There is only one option to select but I have tried clicking the radio button first anyway, then clicking edit, same result.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 running 64bit OS. Setup the laptop with no firewall and no Antivirus programs. After installing the Any connect 2.5 VPN application I was able to successful connect to our ASA. I noticed if my laptop went into standby mode or if I rebooted the laptop the "Cisco Anyconnect Agent" is not running under service even though it is set to Automatic.
I have uninstalled and reinstall with no success and have even tried the new version 3.x with the same result. If I go into services and start the anyconnect agent I can launch the application and connect to my company with no problems. I was able to replicate this issue on a co-workers new laptop running Win7 64 that has no applications on it.
when i click on connect to network nothing happens. it doesn't do anything, but if i plug in my old router it will connect just fine. It's just the new router

Computer 2 connects to that connection wirlessly with a D-link adapter.However after i reinstalled the OS to the main one, computer 2 suddenly is unable to even see the connection. i checked my smartphone which also used to connect when i was home and that can't see the connection either.

I've reset the box, unplugged, changed the channel via wireless settings. What's next??? I'm quite frustrated and would like to get this to work. The message I get is "activation issue. There was a problem connecting to the Roku server". Argh!! It was working fine with the other wireless modem/router (versalink 327W), but it kept going off (as in the signal would drop and we would have to turn it off/on to get it to work) and connected the netgear router to it today.

The laptop is an LG LE50-5273V. I looked into the device manager and found two network adapters; 802.11b/g wireless adapter and Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller. I can plug the ethernet cable straight from the modem into my computer and get internet. Unfortunately this only works after I run the windows diagnostic to correct the errors that wont allow me internet access (unable to connect to IP address, lack of DNS server) but eventually I get access. The instruction then tell me to run the ethernet from the modem to the router and then another cable to my computer from the router. When I do this, I lose all internet access. I thought I just had to instal the router using the provided disk but it never gets past the internet connection test.I have tried to provide the correct IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and dns servers like requested but clearly I am messing something up.

I have DSL Sprint modem that works fine when directly wired to either laptop. A friend gave me an old Netgear Wrt54g wireless router he had laying around so I could connect both laptops to the internet. I cannot do this wired or wireless. When I try wired the internet doesn't work. When I try to do it via wireless the new Windows 7 laptop says it isn't compatible. Any way to get this to work either way on both? Or do I need to pick up a new router. Also, I would prefer a wired connection so any recommendations for a wired router that will work with this setup.

This is not the case, I have two other computers working on the router, and I even generated a new passcode and reset the other two computers and they connect fine. HP directs me to Netgear support, and they are trying to tell me that the notebook is a "different platform" than a regular desktop or laptop, and I need to pay them $99.95 to change some settings in my router to make it work.

I recently had virus infections removed from someone who used AVIRA and MBAM (malaware anti bytes)
edit I tried to disable the autoscaling feature in windows and it did not work /I am running windows vista home 32bit/I can connect to the router now I had the wrong security type selected WPA instead of WPA2, but it still reports local only, I checked my router logs and it shows that it connects but it does not give me information on if it is blocking the laptop from the internet or if my laptop is. I have tried turning off the windows firewall and resetting it as well now.
I have tried the things listed below
- uninstall and reinstall windows wireless adapter drivers through computer managment
- disablied IPv6 through wirless adapter properties (unchecking the box)
- reset my rounter entirely (after which I can no longer connect to the router at all, where as before I did this I was able to connect to my router but it was local only) held the reset button for 10 or more seconds plus unplugged my modem and router for 5 mins, I know its alot of time for that but I was eating but regardless, after which I turned on my modem let all the lights go through their setup then I turned on the router let all the lights do their thing, and then my laptop to make sure everything picked up new settings.
-something threw me off also under computer managment under the network adapters there were ipv6 to ipv4 "tunnels" or something, they had the yellow warning sign on it.
I recently purchased and successfully installed a NetGear N600 dual band router (WNDR3400). My desktop has no connection issues. My iPod Touch has no issues connecting to the wireless network. However, my phone (HTC Aria), my work computer (Dell Latitude D630 Win XP) and my brand new HP Slate 500 (Win 7 Pro) cannot connect to the network. The network is discoverable by all the devices but the 3 cannot connect. I removed all security and still was not able to connect.
I reinstalled the router and still not able to connect. I restarted the router and still not able to connect. The Dell did previously connect to unsecured networks in my neighborhood but does not seem to like my newly set-up network. I am most surprised that the Slate is unable to connect to the wireless network. I would think something brand new would like that would not have an issue. If I cannot get my wireless router working properly and my other computers able to connect to it, it makes them all pretty useless.
