View 1 Replies View RelatedConnected my Dell laptop to the E1000 using the enclosed disk, easy install and no problems with wireless connection. Created a USB via the install disk to connect the Dell desktop (XP pro SP3). When running installing received error pop up "installation not compete" contact Linksys support for assistance. Disabled all internet connections and tried a manual installation but failed. Should I just purchase a wireless USB addapter?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy desktop however, does not have built-in wireless and therefore would have to connect to the ADSL router (Netgear) through ethernet but this cannot be done as the router must remain in my bedroom, much too far away for cables to reach.I bought a USB wireless connecter for the desktop but it doesn't seem to work. It connects but gives "Local Only" as the connection.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got an Optus (in Australia, so 3G mobile broadband is all that matters I would think) that I'm trying to connect to a Netgear WGR614v9 wireless router. So the 3g mobile plugs into usb on computer; the router to the ethernet card on computer.
I know; I could buy one that has it in one package, but we're throwing the router out from work anyway. If this works my daughter will be thrilled with her iPod more is all :)
I've got the mobile broadband on, and plugged in the router and Windows 7 makes a second network connection automatically for the router, though with no internet access, and the setup wizard in the router claims to have no access to the internet. (though clearly I'm posting...lol).
We can see the Wireless signals on devices and can connect to the router but then the devices say no internet access when you actually try to access the web, like the router wizard does. and yet, we are online
At work we have an existing wireless network with with a lot of wireless pc's and devices connected to it.. We want to however connect 2 desktop pc's to the same network so that they have internet access also. These 2 desktops have been connected to the wireless router via wireless dongles, but due to some office arrangements we have to move them to a different office in the building where there is network ports available.I plugged in a D-Link 5-port Gigabit desktop switch to the network point in the office the 2 desktop pc's are moving to and tested it with my laptop (with wireless disabled) to see if everything is working. The LAN seems to be working fine, but when I want to connect to the internet.. it seems something is wrong.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 into my computer and I need to verify my copy of windows. I tried connect my Ethernet wire from my computer to the wireless router but it's not connecting or registering. The wireless router is a WRT54G and I can access the device ip for it but I don't know how to assign an IP address for the new computer. I already had a computer (wired) and a laptop (wireless) connected to the router. I'm using a straight trough Ethernet wire Doing the steps in the sticied post below didn't work because typing ipconfig /release didn't work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout three(3) months ago, I attempted to set up a wired network between a laptop running w-7 and a desktop with w-xp, sp3. Shortly afterwards, I started getting blue screens with error messages and codes about device confilcts. After disconecting the laptop, I still have the problem sometimes. I looked into the system, and found twenty-seven(27) items with yellow exclamation marks on them. Should I delete them or just disable them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's not on one device, and it doesn't matter if you are connected wirelessly or by cable. It also doesn't matter what internet browser you use. I would guesstimate that every 5-15 mins the dsl broadband just gives and all internet goes down for probably 1-3 mins at a time.I honestly have no idea. I'm using a 2Wire, just what AT&T gave me. I'm guessing it's either the dsl filter, or the actually router itself, i'm just not sure how to go about troubleshooting and figuring out the root of the problem.

I enter the key and hit connect again, it comes up with the 'Connecting' pop-up and then loops back to the Available Networks screen again. There are no error messages, it just goes back to the starting screen and it hasnt connected. The Laptop in question is a Lenovo T60 with a Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG card. The router is a TP-Link TD-W8960N.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy xp computers recently gave up. So, I bought a new one (windows 7).
When I had my new computer plugged directly into my modem, there was no problem; I could easily connect to the internet.Yet, when I plugged the modem into my router (WRT54GS) and then plugged the router into the computer, I repeatedly encountered: Error 651.
The new computer has a built-in wireless adapter. So, I was able to disconnect the router and try to re-connect via a wireless connection. Yet, dispite being able to connect to my "network", the computer was not able to connect to the internet; again, I received the dreaded Error 651 message.I tried using the installation disk, but it would not work, either.
I recieve 0X800CCC0F error message when trying to download emails with attachments. My ISP is BT. BT say they cant fix it on my computer but many people are having this problem. They say their technicians are trying to fix it presumbably on the servers.
