View 1 RepliesJust got a new printer Lexmark S605. I have a home network setup and works fine for my wireless laptops and my wired PC. 2 Wireless routers (one is an ADSL Model Netgear 865G and the other is my "trusty" Linksys WRT54G router).
They are both connected together - the DHCP is turned off on the linksys router and the wireless is turned off on the D865 router. so the Linksys wireless gets an IP from the D865 Router. Works great. no problems.
I also have my security setup for wireless:
1) MAC Filter
2) WEP
3) Channel = 6
4) Key Index = 4
The linksys will not see it. when I manually add the network it says connected but with limited connectivity. I see the IP as being a Private IP of its own (169.x.x.x). I of course DID add the MAC Address of the printer to the enabled/allowed MAC Filter list on the wireless router. I also tried configuring the wireless printer using my wireless laptop and the lexmark software and in here I was able to give it the Key index to use however it still failed to get an IP Address. It seems to authenticate just fine and maybe connect? But does not seem to get an IP Address and fails.
Lexmark S600 wireless printer. It worked fine with my old dlink router but now with the new DIR 655 I have to reboot the router after afew days to communicate with the printer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy mom has a Toshiba laptop that she got for Christmas and a lexmark all-in-one wireless printer. Every time she tries to print something to the wireless printer, the item just stays in the printing queue. However, once she restarts her laptop all of a sudden the laptop and printer seem to communicate, and the printer always starts printing whatever was in her queue from the previous time.so when she wants to print something it automatically starts printing, and she doesn't have to restart her computer every time to print stuff.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two laptops, both running Vista and want to get a wireless printer to use with them. I do not have a wired ISP; I get my internet through a laptop connect card. I've been told all I need is a wireless printer; I've been told I need a wireless printer and a router; and I've been told I cannot do it without an ISP (i.e., AT&T, Roadrunner, etc.). Which is correct?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere would appear to be a general problem with printing from a wireless laptop, judging by the number I've come across in the search for a solution to my particular problem. My Set-up is:BT Home-Hub (up to 8 MBs Broadband DSL connection with outputs of two ethernet ports and Wifi, telephone and USB
- port 1 connected to Vista PC
- port 2 connected to 8 port Netgear switch.
Netgear switch.
- port 1 input from BT Home Hub
- port 2 connected to TV
- port 3 connected to NAS
- port 4 connected to Samsung CLP 620 ND colour laser
- port 5 connected to this desktop PC (Win 7/64bit)
- ports 5 to 8 as yet unused.
Other PCs
- desktop running XP SP3 connects through WiFi
- old Toshiba laptop running XP SP 3 connects through WiFi
- new HP laptop running Win 7 SP 1 connects through WiFi
- Acer laptop running Win 7 SP1 connects through WiFi.(WiFi computers not necessarily connected all at the same time)
The issue. This desktop can print via the network..All XP pcs/laptops see the printer on the network and can print..The Win 7 laptops see the printer on the network, but when asked to print a test page, the document gets stuck in queue until it gives the Error - printing message. If the printer is sleeping, when the test page is sent, the Samsung print dialog panel on the laptop remains showing "Printer is sleeping..." as if no commands are being sent to the printer (and therefore why nothing prints). Cancelling the document returns the printer to normal - ie the exclam mark in the yellow triangle disappears and is replaced by a tick. When the laptop is shutdown, and then restarted maybe a day later, if the printer is on, it jumps into life and prints the test page from the laptop.I should add that the laptop is also part of the HOMEGROUP and can see the printer via this PC when this PC is on - and it can print via this PC in the HOMEGROUP. Both the problem laptops have the up to date Samsung drivers although it took an age to install - it seems to get stuck on the "Detecting TCP/IP Port" page and then goes to a page headed Additional port info required. On selecting Samsung Printer, it moves on to Detecting Driver Model, gets stuck there until it moves on to the old Add Printer dialog with Manufacturers in the left pane and printers in the right.
I added the network printer cum scanner - cm1312, going to control panel >> add printer >> etc. etc. Now I can print. But there is no scanner installed. What I can do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedNew Win-7 machine set up. I used the printer set-up wizard to install a networked printer in the new machine with absolutely no problem. Proved it would print from that machine. Now, I get a call informing me that her old XP machine, which had been printing to the network printer with no problems, will no longer print.Documents go into the print queue, but they don't get printed. No error messages show up.I did some messing around via remote access, and finally removed the printer with the intention of reinstalling it.Scanning for network printers turned up several redundant instances of the same printer with different names. Some are identified as "invalid" some a "access denied". Bottom line. I can't get any of the selections to install. On the Win-7 machine I did find a window that indicated that the printer is designated as being shared, but I didn't explicitly set it for sharing when I installed it. Also, I somehow got to a window that told me that for printers that were to be shared with other versions of windows I could optionally install drivers to support such machines. Didn't have the driver disk handy and took the window down. Now I can't even find it again.I need sorting this all out.Part of the problem is that out there in "network land" there are redundant remnants of previous installations that are being remembered inappropriately.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are doing a new installation of a Cisco ACS 5.4 replacing a Microsoft NPS.
Recently I ran into issues with Lexmark wireless printers authenticating against the ACS 5.4.
While these printers work against the old Microsoft NPS we want to replace, I get "11500 Invalid or unexpected EAP payload received" on the ACS.
Windows/Android/iDevices authenticate against the same SSID using PEAP. I suspect, we ran into
CSCtq46211 Bug Details
Lexmark Printers work with ACS 4 but not ACS 5 Symptom: Lexmark printers uzed to work with ACS 4.2 but they produce "internal error" on acs 5.1 or 5.2
Conditions: Not known exactly
Workaround:1st Found-In 5.2(0.26.3)
Fixed-In 5.3(0.40.7)
setting up a new VM with ACS 5.3 patching it to P7, reconfiguring and retest all the stuff we implemented during several days ist not an option.
The Cisco TAC refuses to open a SR because the product is under warranty only, and claims warranty only covers HARDWARE replacement... (and we ordered ACS is a VM,,,) Maybe I should burn the ISO image to a DVD and RMA it for repair .
Maybe Cisco could verify whether the fix for CSCtq46211 has been integrated to ACS Version 5.4.0.46-B.221 already or not ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer. Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer. All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.
I used WPS on my DIR-655 Rev B1 FW 2.03NA to register a Brother HL-2270DW Wifi laser printer and my Mac can never wake it up to print. It always works fine from all my Windows machines. It appears as xxx.xxx.xxx.6 on my network. But the router only shows its IP as 0.0.0.0 on the STATUSWireless page and I can't find any way to change that. My assumption is that the Mac can't find it because of this, but I'm not an expert on WPS.Maybe I should take it out of WPS and just assign it a fixed IP using DHCP Reservation. Or is there another fix? I haven't ruled out the Brother OS X printer driver, but it and the printer's firmware are both up to date. Two odd things:
1. I can ping the printer from my PCs but the Mac can't find see in and it's not a Firewall issue.
2. I can see the brother printer in Finder's Shared devices: so it sees it but refuses to interact.
I have 2 Laptops connected wirelessly, 1 Vista, the other Windows 7. The Vista laptop seems to be dropping the connection, when I look at 'Network & Sharing Centre on the Vista laptop, it's telling me signal strength excellent but with a red cross indicating there is a break between me and the internet. HOWEVER, the windows 7 laptop (on it now) is working perfectly OK!!
