Just got a new printer Lexmark S605. I have a home network setup and works fine for my wireless laptops and my wired PC. 2 Wireless routers (one is an ADSL Model Netgear 865G and the other is my "trusty" Linksys WRT54G router).
They are both connected together - the DHCP is turned off on the linksys router and the wireless is turned off on the D865 router. so the Linksys wireless gets an IP from the D865 Router. Works great. no problems.
I also have my security setup for wireless:
1) MAC Filter
2) WEP
3) Channel = 6
4) Key Index = 4
The linksys will not see it. when I manually add the network it says connected but with limited connectivity. I see the IP as being a Private IP of its own (169.x.x.x). I of course DID add the MAC Address of the printer to the enabled/allowed MAC Filter list on the wireless router. I also tried configuring the wireless printer using my wireless laptop and the lexmark software and in here I was able to give it the Key index to use however it still failed to get an IP Address. It seems to authenticate just fine and maybe connect? But does not seem to get an IP Address and fails.
My mom has a Toshiba laptop that she got for Christmas and a lexmark all-in-one wireless printer. Every time she tries to print something to the wireless printer, the item just stays in the printing queue. However, once she restarts her laptop all of a sudden the laptop and printer seem to communicate, and the printer always starts printing whatever was in her queue from the previous time.so when she wants to print something it automatically starts printing, and she doesn't have to restart her computer every time to print stuff.
I have a Lexmark Z-22 installed on an old desktop. Hard drive crashed; now need a printer for 2 laptops. Can I somehow use this old printer for the wireless network?
Lexmark S600 wireless printer. It worked fine with my old dlink router but now with the new DIR 655 I have to reboot the router after afew days to communicate with the printer.
I would like to find out why my packard bell laptop doesnt print wirelessly to my Lexmark 7600 printer. It prints only when the printer cable is plugged into the computer. My laptop works wirelessly with no problems generally
We are doing a new installation of a Cisco ACS 5.4 replacing a Microsoft NPS.
Recently I ran into issues with Lexmark wireless printers authenticating against the ACS 5.4.
While these printers work against the old Microsoft NPS we want to replace, I get "11500 Invalid or unexpected EAP payload received" on the ACS.
Windows/Android/iDevices authenticate against the same SSID using PEAP. I suspect, we ran into
CSCtq46211 Bug Details Lexmark Printers work with ACS 4 but not ACS 5 Symptom: Lexmark printers uzed to work with ACS 4.2 but they produce "internal error" on acs 5.1 or 5.2 Conditions: Not known exactly Workaround:1st Found-In 5.2(0.26.3) Fixed-In 5.3(0.40.7)
setting up a new VM with ACS 5.3 patching it to P7, reconfiguring and retest all the stuff we implemented during several days ist not an option.
The Cisco TAC refuses to open a SR because the product is under warranty only, and claims warranty only covers HARDWARE replacement... (and we ordered ACS is a VM,,,) Maybe I should burn the ISO image to a DVD and RMA it for repair .
Maybe Cisco could verify whether the fix for CSCtq46211 has been integrated to ACS Version 5.4.0.46-B.221 already or not ?
I have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer. Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer. All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.
I used WPS on my DIR-655 Rev B1 FW 2.03NA to register a Brother HL-2270DW Wifi laser printer and my Mac can never wake it up to print. It always works fine from all my Windows machines. It appears as xxx.xxx.xxx.6 on my network. But the router only shows its IP as 0.0.0.0 on the STATUSWireless page and I can't find any way to change that. My assumption is that the Mac can't find it because of this, but I'm not an expert on WPS.Maybe I should take it out of WPS and just assign it a fixed IP using DHCP Reservation. Or is there another fix? I haven't ruled out the Brother OS X printer driver, but it and the printer's firmware are both up to date. Two odd things:
1. I can ping the printer from my PCs but the Mac can't find see in and it's not a Firewall issue.
2. I can see the brother printer in Finder's Shared devices: so it sees it but refuses to interact.
I have two laptops, both running Vista and want to get a wireless printer to use with them. I do not have a wired ISP; I get my internet through a laptop connect card. I've been told all I need is a wireless printer; I've been told I need a wireless printer and a router; and I've been told I cannot do it without an ISP (i.e., AT&T, Roadrunner, etc.). Which is correct?
my printer is a lexmark x8350. It does not have an ethrtnet port on it. My home computer has XP on it and I have added a laptop with Windows 7. I need to know how to make my printer work with my laptop.
I spend hours trying to get my printer to scan and print . I constantly get error messages, different ones each time job doesn't print,0x0000007a,0x80070002. I do not understand messages. Printing jobs will stay in que until I delete them. I have tried everything.Sometimes printer will not activate. Once I get it to activate it will deactivate and then I have to go through the process again. I become frustrated and will try again the nexr day. What can I do? It is a wireless network connection.
1. Can you use a wireless printer with Vonage? If so, do I need to buy a router?
2. My wireless printer is an all-in-one printer (print, copy, fax, scan). With Vonage am I able to use the fax without getting a dedicated line. Presently, with my local phone company I just plug the phone line (line also has DSL) directly into the wireless printer. It is not a dedicated fax line.
3. How many extension phones in the house can Vonage cover or does the number of extension phones matter?
I have recently purchased an HP Photosmart 5510 all in one printer and I have successfully printed from my laptop computer - no issues and everything is fine. However my own main house desktop computer is a different matter all together. For some reason this computer will not recognize the printer at all, but does show it in the devices and printers page. When I use the "cmd" screen and ping the printer IP address it is all OK - sends and receives 4 packets. When I enter the IP address in my browser it will not show anything. I can connect to the internet fine on this computer and do wirelessly through a netgear dongle.I am running Windows 7 64 bit on both machines. I have tried disabling avast and windows firewall - all with no joy. My guess is the issue is with the PC and some piece of software is stopping the communication.
i have a router in my sons room. It is separate from my house. My signal is weak and I can't use my printer with its wireless fucntion. should i buy another router or a repeater
I have tried two wireless printers, a Kodak ESP 7 and and Hp 3050. Set them for WPA with the correct security code. The same as my PC and iPad - both of them work fine. The Kodak finds my network but connot connect. The HP returns a "Cannot find printer message". In every other regard my DIR 825 works fine!
Since I have static ip I cannot use the printer Brither Model.I have U verse system from At&t and I have gotten static IPs to be able to install an IPcamara and to access it from any point in the world. But since I have gotten the static IPs I had a problem with my printer, also the i phone, and I pad do not connect to internet but the windows lap tops are working fine with the wifi.
I am trying to have both my laptop and brother HL-3070CW printer, wirelessly connect. I go through the entire setup process and all is well. Until the end. It tells me that my security settings are incorrect. Therefore the wireless link status has failed to associate.
Shared printer not printing. Have two PCs, one with Vista OS with the printer connected and the other XP, both connected via network sharing. I cannot print from the XP PC. It says I do not have permission even though I have shared the printer.
I can usually solve most problems given enough time but after 4x hours work I have admitted defeat.I need the Mac Address of my Wireless printer so I can set mac filters for our laptops and printer. The printer is an HP F4500 all in one wireless printer.I managed to find out how to print a configuration page but there is no ip or mac address on it.Tried Ipconfig /all on the laptop and it only lists the ip and Mac address of the netbook.Phoned HP twice. wasted half hour being transferred all over the place then told to check their tech website. Nothing on their website about obtaining mac address naturally
I had to replace my wireless router and when I try to reconnect my printer this is what I get: Your wireless router requires a WEP security key. The security key configured on your printer does not match exactly. Reconfigure your wireless network WEP security key for your printer. Your printer has limited connectivity. Your printer is using IP address 169.254.xx.xxx which is not compatible with the IP address 192.16x.x.x of the pc.I had to changed the WEP security key I used on the old router as the orginal security key had been used by someone without permission. Before this I had no problems using the printer on my old routerI have tried turning everything off and unplugging it but that does not work, I tried resetting the wireless settings on the printer, yet that did not work. I am using Windows Vista service pack 2 on a Compaq Presario laptop, the wireless router is a Netgear N600, and the printer is an HP Photosmart C4740.
