Can Detect Wireless Network - Laptop / Ipad Says Connected But No Connection
Nov 9, 2011
we recently upgraded our home router and have been having trouble ever since. Our old router was a Netgear one, so we bought a newer netgear model. Since installing the new one we can not get my daughters laptop, an iPad and ipods to work on the wifi. My computer is wired into the router and works fine, it is just the wireless. All of these things worked perfectly using our old netgear wirelss modem and all of them can find the wireless network on their list of available networks, they all say that they are connected with a good signal, but when they try to browse the internet or check emails, it comes up saying not connected to the internet. We even bought a range extender because we thought the signal might not be strong enough between the new router and my daughters bedroom which are at opposite ends of the house and on different floors, but it made no difference and wasn't a problem before.
Anyway, the router we bought is a Netgear N150 wireless modem router DGN1000, the cables are plugged in to ports 1 and 4 ( there is only 1,2,3 and 4 to choose from). The extender is a Netgear universal range extender WN2000RPT
I have tried turning it all off and back on again, have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but still nothing. Daughters laptop uses Vista and she has McAfee security. Exactly as it has always been and has worked fine using our old wireless router, just not this new one.
My laptop connected to internet with wifi, but it cannot use even my laptop detect connected, when i run trobleshooter it's show 'no valid IP address' even i already set up to automatically detect , restart my wifi router and unplug doesn't make any changes
I'm using the wifi and it was okay but later tonight when i switched on my laptop it cannot detect the wireless connection but can detect our neighbours connection. i am living with 3 other roomates but they have no problem connecting to it. i am using lenovo G450 running win 7.
My laptop has stopped detecting my wireless home network. Before this happened, my laptop was going a-hole on me. It would stopped connecting and then I would have to connect it again via password..but now it has done it! This dam laptop. Anyways, there are two computers in my house and they can connect to the internet through the Ethernet cable. My laptop can also connect the internet through the ether net cable too..but that really beats the purpose of having a laptop if it's not mobile.
try to connect to my wireless network it does not show up, other networks do however. At the moment I am connecting on the laptop through an ethernet cable. Also, my sister's and my old laptop both connect fine to the wireless and so do our iPhones. I have tried to connect manually to the network but this doesn't work either. I have tried researching it and I found that I might need to update my driver but I found that my driver is up to date.
I am using an HP G50 vista 32bit. Suddenly my laptop does not detect the wireless automatic home network which its connected to everytime. It detects all other available networks (around my home) but not the one at home. All other devices (other laptop, my iphone) are successfully connected to the network. I have tried resetting the modem, restarting laptop, no updates , no adapter updates.
My wireless internet connection on my laptop. The connection seems to work fine on other laptops in the flat. It works on mine too. Then after a short time the internet connection fails and the laptop says it's unable to connect to preffered wireless network, and unable to detect any wireless networks (usually there are others around too). The amount of time before this happens seems to be getting less. I have cheched that the radio switch on the side of the laptop is on.
My laptop, windows 7, is telling me there are no connections available. My iPad and phone are connected. I've removed my wifi network and replaced it, I've restarted my laptop, I've deleted other networks.
I'm trying to connect my computer to our router with no success. Windows doesn't detect the wire when I plug it in, no matter which one I use. This has never been a problem before I recently installed Windows 7 HP.I had no wireless connection to the router either after I installed the new Windows, but following an answer to a remotely similar question in the forum fixed it ('scan for hardware changes' on "Realtek Wireless LAN" under Network Adapters in Device Manager)
I have a netgear router model #DG834N connected direct to my desktop pc. the router is getting old but seems to generally be ok. However when my son tries to connect to my internet connection wirelessly his laptop does not detect my internet connection (I think) and consequently can not connect to the internet. We have tried to have him sit right next to the router and hopefully pick up a signal but that does not work either so I am guessing it is not a signal strength issue. I have read some things about setting up a network and adding him but it seems strange that I would have to do that when he can go to his friends houses and pick up their connection without a problem or without being added to a network.
I thought that you just turned on the IPad2 and it would automatically connect to my Dell Studio 5010 DW1501 WiFi Half Card to my new IPad2. No way, I have spent the best of 5 days trying everything including re-installing Windows 7 Pro including the latest DW1501 drivers, but to no avail. I just can not connect. I hear that there is a patch to make Windows 7 compatable with IPad?
My Compaq laptop (Vista) was working just fine last night, connected to my home wireless network all right and all. Today morning my laptop couldn't detect my home wireless network at all, but it could still detect a bunch of other networks from the neighbours. My iPhone can detect my network with no problems, my desktop computer is wired up to the router, works fine too. It's a D-Link DIR-655. This has happened before but usually gets solved when I reboot (switching off and on) my router. I've tried that, tried restarting my computer too, no use. Haven't tried anything beyond that because I'm an idiot with computers.
My laptop cant detect any wireless network before its working fine, i never use for almost a year since i have a broadband now i want to use it i cant see any wifi.
I have an Asus 1001 PG netbook. I am having problems with my home wifi network. When I turn on my laptop, I do not receive the signal for our home wifi network. However, I know that the network is working because other laptops at home are able to detect it. I don't think there is anything wrong with the laptop because I can still detect other wifi networks in our neighborhood. The problem only seems to be with our home wifi network. If I restart the computer, the problem is usually solved. This is not an efficient solution for me as I am used to turning my laptop off on hibernate and I don't like having to reopen all my documents.
It's been working absolutely fine for me for nearly two years and all of a sudden it doesn't want to connect anymore. When I turn it on it will connect to the wireless network and stay connected for five minutes tops before disconnecting. Sometimes the wireless network is still being detected, sometimes not, but when I click on it to reconnect it rarely does (and when it does, it will sure enough disconnect again in no time). All other devices in the house stay connected and work fine; it is only my laptop that has issues. I took my laptop to another house and it has the exact same issues so it's definitely the laptop itself and not the routers.I live in Pakistan and my broadband provider for this household is Wi-Tribe. I don't know the type of broadband it is. I have no Anti-Virus apart from Microsoft Security Essentials.
The other day i was on my mums laptop (ASUS X5DIJ) at her house all working fine the battery died so i plugged it in and started it up again however the charger cant have been fully connected and once back in windows the battery died again on the next boot i noticed windows said it had found the system CMOS/real time clock and had installed drivers for it. checked the driver details it says no driver files are required just like it should ever since then it connects to the network but will not connect to the internet at her house or at mine through wireless and ethernet cable although all other computers work fine windows troubleshooter says "Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings"
I've tried resetting routers and laptop = no change netsh winsock reset and netsh int ipv4 reset = no change ipconfig /flushdns = no change ipconfig /registerdns = no change
I have a dell inspiron laptop that is about 5 years old. It runs Windows XP and works great. Lately though it will not stay connected to my network (Linksys Router). It will connect and disconnect several times per hour and this evening it connected/disconnected and would not connect again.
I was online then all of a sudden i got disconnected and now it won't show any network available. My other laptop and xboxes are online just fine, so I know then it's an issue with my one laptop. But I don't know how to fix it. No networks are found at all and internet only works when it's wired. I have a HP laptop running windows 7.How do I get my network to show up so I can have wirless internet again? Someone thought maybe new drivers but no clue what I really need to download. I only know basics of computer stuff.
My wife just bought a new Dell Intel Centrino. I can't seem to get it to connect properly to the wireless router/modem. It is a Netgear cg814wg v2. The wireless status shows that the computer is connected to the internet. But yet the only thing I can seem to do is searches on Google. Any other site that I try to visit does not open. If I plug the laptop into the modem directly with a Ethernet cable it works flawlessly. So it seems that the laptop can communicate with other computers on the network, but I just don't have any internet. Or very limited internet. And I've tried this in both IE and Google Chrome.
I'm not a computer/wireless network genius, but I've spent hours trying to troubleshoot this issue with no success. I've reset the modem. Unplugged the modem. Typed config/all and all the other ones I found suggested online in the command prompt. Checked the settings on the modem itself and on the laptop. I Still can't seem to get it to work. I have 3 other computers in my house that all work just fine wireless. They are all older computers with XP on them. I also found out that the wireless adapter in the laptop is a N 1030 adapter. But I don't know if that is compatible with my modem or not.
Well I became convinced that the problem was with the Netgear itself and I needed a newer model. I contacted Comcast whom supplies the modem for me and told them my situation. She basically told me that I needed to contact Dell Technical Support to see if the laptop was set up or equipped with what it needed to be used with my Netgear setup. Well, she said something that sounded a lot better than that.
I have a linksys 1500, connected to a cablemodem. It has firmware 1.0.04 (but this problem happened with earlier firmware that it shipped with).I have a problem with the DHCP server on the E1500 - or maybe its a bad client - one of my clients, happens to be an iPad-2 doesn't seem to get properly connected. all of my other wireless DHCP clients - windows vista, windows 7, linux, android, mac and an old iPad1 all connect without problems. I also have wired devices that get their IP via DHCP for my TV, blu-ray, slingbox, DVR, without problems, its just this iPad2 that tries to connect, seems that it does, but can't access anything on the internet.I see this on the DCHP Client list (Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table from the web interface) and I'm quite sure this is the cause of the problem with the iPad2. that MAC address is the address of my iPad2, and that IP# is the one I reserved for it.
I've set up that MAC address to have a reserved IP#, and forced the client name to Rays-IPad2 (as its named on the device) but it has the same behaviour as letting the DCHP server give it an IP# from its address pool. And if I reboot the E1500 and reboot the iPad2, it does actually connect for a few seconds, I can bring up a page in safari, etc, but soon within a few seconds, it switches the client name to this display of question-marks (non printable characters presumably) and it can no longer get to the internet. Is there anything I can do or try? There isn't another DCHP server running on the network, I don't know if something with the cable modem is causing a conflict, and if it were I'm not sure what I could do about that.
My EA6500 are not displaying all the connected network devices on in the GUI. How do i force this? Is it a bug? How can I make sure all my devices are showing in the GUI?
My HP laptop's wireless does not detect my home wireless network. The wireless is on, there is internet connectivity and other devices at my house detect the network but not my laptop. i hve already spent so much of time in finding out the problem. The driver for the wireless is installed and updated. The service is running. Checked the Wireless Zero Configuration.
So about a week ago my computer stopped picking up wifi signals even though I know they're active. I can connect to the internet using an ethernet cable, but my computer doesn't even detect the wireless internet that any device puts out
I cannot get my belkin n150 wireless router to connect to my laptop or ipad - wireless connection was working but stopped - so i attempted to re-configure the ip protocols on the router using the 198.168.2.1/ password - changed the ip setting on the belkin page but did not reset or set address (DHCP).
recently we have purchased Reflection - an AirPlay mirroring software. Basically install Reflection in the laptop and you can view the screen of the iPad or iPhone via wireless network. we have tested in home wireless network no problem, but when connect to the cisco network, the iPad didn't recognize the REFLECTION installed in the laptop.
we are running WLC 5508, WLAP AP-1331AG, we can ping from laptop to the iPad laptop and ipad can access network without any issue. there is no any application port has been blocked between the client via wifi extra details for REFLECTION: [URL]
I've had my computer for maybe a year now, and I have not had problems with my wireless before. Two nights ago I found that I lost internet, and when I tried to reconnect there were no connections available.
My wireless IS on, and my mother's IPad uses the same router as my laptop does for internet and she gets internet with no problem, so it's not the router. I've tried rebooting the computer, disabling and reinabling the wireless, shutting down the computer for the night and trying in the morning, and none of these things worked.
How do I take away the red X and the "Not Connected" for my DELL WIreless 1390 WLAN Mini Card in order for it to recognize my Netgear Wireless N-300.? I am working with Windows XP. I have all necessary boxes checked to allow for 1390 to coordinate all wireless functions.
I have Dell Inspiron laptop with windows Vista Home edition with SP 2, Norton Antivirus 10.2. I was been using BSNL DNA A211-I wireless modem Since 1 yr. there used to be some router issues every 3 months and i used to re configure the router setting and re establish the wifi connectivity. but recently few days back I have uninstalled Norton antivirus and installed Kaspersky Internet security 2011( Trial version) even then things were fine for few days, i was able to connect. But suddenly 2 days back i connected my laptop along with the modem for one whole day without any activity . and on the next day when i try to reboot my system and connect to my internet i was not able to find the the wireless icon ITI in the available wireless connections list. The wireless connection was not detected by my laptop. my Wifi on my laptop is also on.I tried the below possible ways but could not get the connectivity1. re setting the router configurations2. switching the firewall off and tried to connectAll the 4 LED are glowing on the router, even when trying to connect PPPoE through LAN (with wire) it is connecting occasionally ie.. once for every 15 attempts. most of the time it is giving 815 errorI tried to the below commands from cmd prompt as wellnetsh int ip reset reset.lognetsh winsock reset catalogipconfig/flushdnsipconfig/registerdnsbut nothing happened.
