Can Split Internet Cable To Connect A Digital Phone
Sep 26, 2011
can i use a cable splitter to connect my digital phone and my router? Currently my digital phone box is connected to the cable modem and my router is connected to the digital phone box. However I noticed that the internet speed is negatively affected.
I am current trying to configure the network settings on a standalone DVR.I have been doing trial and error all day long to get a 'SUCCESS' on a 'check' while entering the DDNS SVC information. After figuring out that the IP Configuration & Allocation of the Network in the router was messed up, I finally got the DDNS SVC to give me a 'SUCCESS' reading. Thus, enabling me to remotely access the digital video recorder via a Internet Browser. Here's the catch ;I am only able to access the DVR from the PC that has the configuration of the network. (example 10.0.0.1)and the settings on the DVR have been set to :IP : 10.0.0.5ubnet Mask :255.255.255.0Gateway : 10.0.0.1DNS : 10.0.0.1Port of device is set to 20410.So entering http://10.0.0.5:20410 directs me to the webclient that enables me to remotely access the device
I have linksys X2000 modem and linksys WAG 200G modem I can use them both if needed I want to share my internet with my brother on our house But I want each one of us to have equal bandwidth ( speed ) How can I do this using those devices.
Everytime i connect my phone on my network the entire network freezes: the lights on the router stills on but there is no connection on the network. There is anything that i can do to prevent it?
I have two buildings. In first building I have network with internet. In other building network without internet. I need to connect buildings to the same network using two WAG320N modems by the phone line cable. Is it possible and what configuration I need to set up?
My question is can I split my cable to create my own network? For example my direct cable wire into the home then split it to tv then router to my laptop...
I have one running UTP cable of around 50m, terminated at a point. Is it possible to split my cable so that i can terminate two points - so that i can connect my 2 Pc without a switch in.
I've recently bought a TL-WR1043ND & i'm trying to connect my Sky+ box to the Internet. When I connect the box directly to my broadband router all works OK. When I connect via an Ethernet connection on my TP-Link router - it get's an IP address from the router but it will not connect to the internet.
I have only one computer right now.Had two, and got very weak signal to laptop (since discarded) upstairs from Linksys g 54Mbits downstairs at main desktop computer desktop.I have tried three different kinds of 54Mbits wifi routers, all with no success.I'm going to get my wife a new wifi laptop for Christmas, and she wants to be able to use it all over the house. The 54Mbits will cover the downstairs, but, based on previous efforts, I am thinking of putting my modem in the garage, where the cable enters my house, and using a splitter on the cable coming out of the modem to make two IN cables, using one cable for my comp and a 54Mbits router (for downstairs coverage), and putting a second wifi router on the end of the upstairs cable, to cover the upstairs rooms. My house has cable outlets in every room, so I won't have to do any wiring.
I plan to leave the routers on all the time (at this time) subject to how much of a bandwidth drop they cause. I have a 100 Mbps connection, and I play games, so I'd like to retain as much bandwidth as possible. I assume the two "on" wifi routers will pull zero bandwidth as long as the laptop is off. (??)Or maybe I should just try an "n" wifi router, since they get twice the distance, and forget the cable splitter idea.
I would like to access a Digital Video Recorder (192.168.3.200 port 12088) from the internet (Telenet/Belgium). I'm using a Cisco/Linksys WRV200 (192.168.3.254) to access the internet. I can access the WRV200 remotely (from Internet) and I've created following port forwards: Port 8016-8016 >>> 192.168.3.200 Port 12088-12088 >>> 192.168.3.200 Connecting to the DVR internally is working fine but accessing the DVR from the outside doesn't work for some reason.
My laptop has recently not been able to connect to the internet through my wifi connection. My desktop is fine though it can connect to the internet on the same network, and I have my wireless router connected to my desktop. I thought it was just my laptop having a problem (possibly a virus) but then I noticed that my smartphone is having the same problem of being able to connect to the network but not connecting to the internet. So is there something up with my router?
I have a samsung galxy 5 phone.. with ANDROID 2.1 installed in it.. I wan2 access internet thru wi-fi on my mobile. I have got myself a wireless router at home. the wi-fi settings page of my phone says that i am connected to the network i wanna connect to... but when i try 2 access any website thru d browser , it displays page not found..
We have ASA 5520 acting as the VPN Server and Cisco 1941 router as EZVPN client. Since last few days client is not able to establish vpn connection. 1941 router is continuously generating the below log messages

I got cable modem broadband and need to share that Internet amongst my home, my home office and the apartment I rent out to a tenant on the second floor. I also need them to be on separate networks/LANs/zones so they can't see each other (but still sharing the same Internet connection). How do I do this?
Im about to move into a sleepout which is about 20 metres away from the router. I was thinking of laying a network cable out to my room which would connect to a switch then use network cables to connect up my PS3, TV and Computer. Is this all going to work?
I'm pretty new to this, and I've been trying to read up on what I should do. Here's my situation: we have a new 15mps internet connection coming into our building. We also have a new 891 router. We would like to devote 1.5mbs at the highest priority to one LAN which is just used for VOIP phones. We would like to allow one of the other tenants to use up (but no more than) to 5mps for their LAN, and we'd like to be able to use up to 13.5mps for ourselves if it's available, or at least 8.5mps (15-1.5-5=8.5).
From searching in here and reading the various articles on policing and shaping, I'm thinking that we'd want to set up Class-based weighted fair queuing on a per-interface basis, and have one interface connected to our VOIP switch, one connected to the other tenants switch, and one connected to our firewall. Does this sound like the right way to go? And would anyone have an example of a configuration which achieves this?
I want to connect to the Internet small office where docsis (internet over tv cable) is used as WAN.For similar tasks but other WANs (adsl, dial-up) I used 800 series. But now I can't find anything in this series to solve my issue. There is 815 but it has no wi-fi.
I can use cable modem that my ISP gave to me: this modem acts as bridge so I can use router with FE-based WAN but it is better to have one device instead of two.
I have bought Cisco WAG120N modem+router weeks ago, and until now I have trouble with connecting it to my android phone with wi-fi, every time I try to do it keep trying to connect and after that I get a massage connection lost in my PC, then I have to restart modem-router agin to get the internet connection,
previously I had my ISP provided unbranded one and it worked fine, since Cisco have good name I bought this and now I was totally disappointed,
even the Internet connection stop without any reason and I have to do restart process.
I'm configurig a VPN profile with NO split tunneling. The tunnel is working to the inside, but I'm not able to get internet access. Below are the NAT statements that I created.
nat (outside) 2 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 global (outside) 2 (ip address)
I'm familiar with 8.6 nat statements, but with 8.2 it's not letting me put in the same commands.
I am looking for a router or something else that still allows me to connect my phone line to my router or computer so people in the house can make calls. My cable modem is a Motorola SBV5120 I had it for eight years now and I am thinking of switching our network to wireless so I don't get those cluttered wires.
After i reinstall my PC, i can't connect my vaio (VGN-TX750P) to internet through internet cable nothing appears in Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Connections wifi is working fine but I can't connect using ethernet
getting internet access via a easy vpn tunnel on a cisco 877 router. Basically we would like roaming users to be able to use the internet via the vpn rather than using a split tunnel. The reason for this is we have multiple sites that are tied down via external IP access lists for some services. We would like roaming users to be able to interact with these sites through the central router and use the routers external IP address to acess the secured sites. I know we can use a proxy but we also use some other non proxy bases services at these sites so would rather direct routed access.
