View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WAG200G DSL wireless router and I recently got Network MAgic. When I am trying to connect to change the wireless settings, it always gives me the message that it cannot connect to the router no matter what password I enter! I even used really simple ones such as admin admin and It WONT connect. It gives me the message "Could Not Access Routers Settings". I have the ESET Smart Security AV & Firewall and I have properly configured them to allow communication of Network Magic. I should note that I CAN connect to the router through a browser.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have tried to connect my Kindle to my E3000 without success. The Kindle shows that the router is there but after entering my password in the Kindle it will not connect. I tried going into Cisco Connect and enable "Guest" user. Again the Kindle shows that the router is there showing "Guest User" and after entering the password for the guest user it still will not connect. The Kindle does connect to the internet through a router that is shown - I have no idea whose router it is - but at least it proves that the Kindel will connect to the internet.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAlright, the computer I had cisco connect on crashed. I got a new computer and I'm trying to install Cisco connect using the downloaded version and I can't install it because it requests the password of the router, which i do not know. This is because I've lost the CD copy of Cisco connect. I've tried resetting the router itself by pressing the red reset button
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E3000 and I see the gateway (192.168.1.1) listed in my DNS server addresses.
1. Why is this listed here in the DNS?
2. How do I remove it from my DNS servers or stop the router from inserting it into my DNS server list?
I set up a linksys e2500 router with name "mynetwork" and WPA2 password.
The network works fine, my laptop connects securely to it.
But when I View Available Wireless Networks , I see a second , unsecure network named "mynetwork-guest" to which my laptop will also connect with no credentials (not sure how that network got there).
How can I find and delete that unsecure network? When I go into my router setup, I only see mynetwork, not mynetwork-guest If it is of any use here is the IP information for both:
The settingd for mynetwork:
IP Address: 192.168.1.133
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
The setting for mynetwork-guest:
IP Address: 192.168.33.137
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.33.1

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Linksys WRT150N recently gave up on me and started to give me weird issues and started to disconnect (all the ports including wired & wireless) anywhere from 3 to infinite number of times per day and my only solution was to remove the power chord and connect it. I tried all possible ways possible including resetting the router, stopping SSID broadcast, removing the encryption, etc, but non worked. As the router was out of warranty my only option was to take it to the dealers where they told me it would take 3 weeks to fix and God knows how much they would have charged me. But after flashing the firmware with the dd-wrt it has been almost 24 hours without a single problem and now I have the cool option of seeing who is connected to the router, etc. This is a MUST for every Linksys owner.
1. Reset the router using 30-30-30 and waited for 2 minutes for things to come back 2 normal
2. Flashed the router with "dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin"
3. Reset again using 30-30-30 and wait again4. Flashed the router with " dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin"5.
I shared some folders in my C drive and turned off password protected sharing in the network and sharing centre from control panel. However, when I use my Seagate FreeAgent Theatre + to access the files shared online, it keeps asking me to log in with a username and password. How to I disable this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got the WRT54G2 and setup it fine with or without encrytion and passwords - however when I setup the other 2 pcs on my network - the only way I can get them setup and going is WITHOUT encryption and password protection - setiing up without encryption on those works fine, but it defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to do. I was on the phone with Linksys for over an hour and they can't seem to get it to work either - guess they got stumped and after an hour - I was put on hold and then cut off.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy son decided to update our router firmware, together with this the password was changed. My computer which hosts the Internet connection works fine, all other laptops have now been connected successfully after simply changing the password. However my wifes laptop won't play ball. It is a Samsung R510, with Vista Home Premium OS. It worked fine prior to updating the firmware. I have been through the process of changing the password and have the correct security encryption in place, exactly the same process as with the other laptops.
It then says successfully connected, but shows in the bottom right of the screen, Unidentified network access local only and will not connect when the browser is opened. I have tried to diagnose but the usual windows prompt to reboot both modem and router has no effect. I have set it to private, as advised elsewhere, I have switched the firewall off and removed security software, all to no avail.
I tried the command prompt, then ipconfig/renew. An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Connection: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has media disconnected. Let me stress that no changes were made to the laptop at all, it is simply not connecting following the firmware update and password change. All other computers, and phones, 6 in total, are all working fine from simply changing the password.
I want to remove the DD-WRT firmware from my router. It is a TP-LINK TL-WR740N V2.1 router.I want to set it back to its original firmware.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been noticing a Belkin router on my network for a while now and just yesterday another Linksys router as join the party, causing havoc on my connection speed!
The strange thing is that I'm the only one seeing them through Norton on my laptop, all other computer on my home network is not detecting them. could this mean that someone is monitoring me? is possible? If I move permanently to Ubuntu linux would the problem go away? OR will they still be able to connect and monitor me?
