IPod Won't Connect Because Of Wifi Password Changed
Feb 7, 2012My mother accidentally turned off wireless or changed the password to the 2WIRE778 that we have and I can't get wifi on my iPod. So I have a small motorola router and it's wireless so if I hook it up to the original 2WIRE that has blocked wifi do you think I can get wifi off the second router with no password troubles or would I have to buy a special router that has no password? I don't know a lot about computers. And my Meyer has a password on our computer so I can't log on. so if I just hook up the 2nd router and possibly get WiFi do I need to do anything such as setup on the computer or can I plug it in and just go?

Dec 13, 2011i have a LINKSYS WRT54G router .. i bought an apple ipod touch recently and i am unable to connect it to my wifi network. My ipod detects the wifi network but when i select it , it asks for password. now i dont know which password is this bcoz everytime i poer on my computer or laptop i never type a password b4 accessing internet.. it is auto connected. i know the admin password for my router but that is denied by ipod to connect to internet. Is there any other password we have to give for connecting deveices through LINKSYS or some changes i need to do in my connection ?

May 3, 2011I have a BT homehub V2, I have 2 computers connected via cable, a laptop wireless an iPhone wireless and an iPod touch wireless. The cabled computer is not connecting and neither is the iPod touch, but the iPhone seems to be, as I did a speed test on it, which is giving my usual speed result. I don't no if the laptop is connecting as it's my daughters and I dare not go near it, It does not make sense to me that the iPhone is still connecting. The speed result was around 7mps

Nov 22, 2012My home WiFi network security is set up with MAC filtering and WPA-PSK encryptionAll my WiFi devices, ( Laptops, Android, Internet Radio, TV Streamer connect and work ok . However I cannot connect my Ipod to this WiFi network. When I try to connect I get " Unable to Join Network " . When I disable the Mac filtering on my WiFi it connects OK. My router is a Netopia 2247NWG and my Ipod is an Ipod Touch 4th generation running Ios 6.0.1 and is up to date.I've checked and double checked the MAC address in the MAC filtering table and I've deleted it and added it again but to no avail. The easy answer is " Disable the mac filtering, its not needed " but I have a specific reason for using it.

Aug 24, 2012I have NM 5.5.9195.0 and WRT120N Linksys router. I have an Ipod using WIFI to connect to the network which I would like to restrict times for. Using the access restriction page in the manage/setup of the router seems to not work well. The system does recognize the MAC address of the Ipod but setting times to allow or deny gives me odd results. The allow button actually denies use for one thing. Secondly, the deny time ends, but the Ipod still cannot connect sometimes. It is like the system gets stuck in deny. I have tested using a random 5 minute deny time period, yet the Ipod is denied all times. The system is consistent in denying the Ipod (actually using the allow button) but not on the times.

Sep 11, 2012I have an E4200 functioning with a new Comcast/XFinity cable modem on the public IP (Internet) port. That modem provides a DHCP address to the router (currently 50.129.x.x./255.255.254.0) The problem is that this new setup is leaking COMCAST DHCP responses through the E4200 to my WiFi clients. Most of the clients (newer iPODs, laptops) are smart enough to behave correctly and use Wifi Protected Setup. This problem means that one older iPOD seems to be receiving the Comcast DHCP (as 192.168.33.0/24 range) instead of E4200 Wifi DHCP range (as 192.168.1.0/24 range). I imagine the most direct solution is to pull the public connection briefly and allow the iPOD to fetch a valid WiFi DHCP from the remaining DHCP server on board the E4200. HOWEVER, I'd like to configure the router to suppress all DHCP packets from the Comcast network - or otherwise make sure the WiFi clients only receive DHCP from the router and not the Comcast modem.

I tried going into Cisco Connect and enable "Guest" user. Again the Kindle shows that the router is there showing "Guest User" and after entering the password for the guest user it still will not connect. The Kindle does connect to the internet through a router that is shown - I have no idea whose router it is - but at least it proves that the Kindel will connect to the internet.
