I have a Dell Intel 3945abg wireless. Its work great for the time I've been using it...until today. I have the red cross on the icon and it will not enable even though everything else checks out. I've uninstalled and installed the drivers and it is recognized.
View 1 RepliesThis first started happening a couple of weeks ago when a piece of software was put on to the computer off an external hard drive. First the wifi would turn itself off but after turning it back on it might happily stay on for a few hours before switching itself back off.The day before yesterday it decided to start turning itself off straight away. I plugged in with ethernet, uninstalled the old drivers and reinstalled new ones, this didn't seem to do anything so I turned on my firewall and titanium defense and after a while it decided to start working again.Earlier today I connected my DSLR camera to my USB 3 port to download pictures, this killed my wifi straight way. I reconnected with ethernet and I'm not sure what I did but now the wifi has decided to work again.

I had to re-install Windows 7 -64bit after my hard drive had crashed, but I can seem to get the Wireless to work. I tried following the installation order as per the following link but I couldn't install the NSS/DSS as I could not find this download for my Vostro 3700. I also read somewhere that it is not needed for Windows 7, so I left it.
I installed the WLAN 1501 Half Mini-Card (4313bgn) (R270598) driver as this is the wireless card that I have and it installs. The problem I have is that the wireless software and windows says my wireless card's radio is disabled and that I need to switch the radio on using the switch on the laptop. This laptop has a physical switch and no matter if I turn it on or off.. the radio remains off. Even the wireless light above the keyboard does not switch on.The thing is, before the hard drive crashed, my wireless worked fine. Is it possible that the switch broke too, or am I missing some kind of driver or software for the wireless switch.
On DELL latitude 6410, when i try to enable the wireless radio...I get the below mesg

I have tried to download drivers but they can't find the wireless card either. However, when I put the service tag in, it says I have the wireless card. The service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.
When I go to Device Manager, other "other devices," Network Controller shows up as not having a driver installed. However, the network adapter shows up just fine.
Can I install an Intel 6235 wireless card in my 14z (non XPS)?

All of a sudden his computer no longer shows that there is a wireless interface in the computer and he needs this computer for work. I'm thinking the driver may need to be reinstalled but I'm not entirely sure if it's that or a hardware error that's causing this malfunction.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just taken delivery of a new Inspiron N5110 with an Intel Centrino N-1030 wifi card. I also have two dual band routers (LInksys WRT600N) in different locations in the house.
My problem is that the laptop is detecting my routers Wireless-G signals but NOT the Wireless-N signals. I have checked to ensure that the N-1030 card has 802.11n Mode set to Enabled and have also tried both setting under "802.11n Channel Width for band 2.4" (i.e. Auto and 20 MHz Only) with no success.
My routers are configured with the Wireless-G signal only on 2.4 GHz and Wireless-N only on 5 GHz. I found this to be the best setting to avoid interference from neighbors wifi and cordless phones and have been happily using Wireless-N with my other Dell laptop with no problems (XPS M1530 with Intel 4965agn wireless card).Does the N-1030 card not work with 5 GHz Wireless-N?
I wiped out a Dell Inspiron 2200 and re-installed Windows XP Pro SP3 on it. Everything seemed to work fine until I try re-installing the Wireless Driver. The dell support website pointed me to the Intel PorSet/Wireless 11.1.0.30, which I downloaded and installed successfully, with the only problem.... It does not work.When I open the utility it pops a message saying that the "Driver is not installed", and no signals show or anything. When I go to the device manager, the OTHER DEVICES shows a "network controller" with the yellow question mark, but when I connect to the internet (via ethernet cable) to update the driver, windows can't find nothing out there to solve the issue.

This is a new problem since installing the newest driver update because I could not connect at all or randomly. The update fixed the connection problem and I no longer have dropped connections and wifi connection back to normal. HOWEVER it has left my auto connect nonfunctional.

The wireless on my laptop keeps dropping out. When I first got it it was fine, but after a while I started experiencing problems on every wireless network I connected to. Most of the time it would connect, but after around 10 minutes or so, the connection would drop out and the wireless card has to be "reset" so I can connect again. Otherwise I have a little yellow triangle over my network signal strength bars. I've updated to the latest drivers (14.2.0.10) but it was no luck.
This happens with every wireless network and I know it's not the network because my old Vostro 1500 is running just dandy on all of them.

The problem is that my computer shows "no connections available". View 1 Replies View RelatedI let him take control of the system, he ran [URL] with me 6 feet from router, and then again 30 feet. Huge difference in speed, approximately 10x slower at 30 feet. He initially stated the problem was with the antenna connection and offered to send a tech to replace the antenna, which requires a display replacement as well. I was skeptical so pressed him to verify that this was a known solution since there were so many complaints. He was absolutely certain this was the issue, but put me on hold to double check. He came back and stated they needed to replace the wi-fi card from the Dell 1901 to Intel 2230 along with the antenna. As a former antenna engineer, I suspect the problem is the design of the antenna and/or its location, and not the drivers or wi-fi card.

This started happening gradually, then became more and more frequent. I tried reformatting my computer, and this still is happening. I've tried pressing the WLAN enable key above the keypad next to the other media keys and it won't show it as being enabled.
I've tried the Fn+F2 combination and it doesn't seem to do anything. It keeps saying that the WLAN card is still not enabled!

Under both win 7 x64 (preinstalled dell) and 8 x64 on another hdd, there's no chance to have wifi working: I mean it does not work as normal wifi to connect to internet and it does not work not even a hotspot to let me connect for example my smarthphone to internet using wifi and a shared cable connection.The card seems to work, since I run a live fedora 18 distro linux from dvd and the wifi was able to connect pc to internet in less than one minute...
(of course I tried dell suggested drivers from download area, last updated intel drivers from intel website, etc etc...)...The wifi seemes to be correctly recognized in the pc but I get errors when I try to connect to router (I tried more than one routers that correctly work).
