View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop here that I can't seem to turn wireless off on via the switch. While the obvious choice is hardware failure, it's nearly a brand new Dell Precision M6600 and I hesitate to jump to conclusions.
The physical switch on the system will not toggle wifi on or off; it is always on. I can disable it via Windows (Win 7 Pro), or simply disconnect from the network, but when I do it does not remember the wifi passwords, which may be a separate issue.
I have a 2504 WLC with two 1522 AP's one is Root the other Mesh the 802.11b/g/n/ Admin Status says Up but the Operational Status says down. How can I turn this on? When I change the Admin status to enable I get a "Error in Enabling Admin Status"

I bought the 4300 a week ago - and just recently discovered that you cannot turn off the wi-fi radio using a schedule.
I thought this was "wireless router 101" - since my last three routers had this feature... apparently not with TP-Link.
I have Win 7 and Win 8 dual booting on my brand new Dell Vostro laptop. The wireless works beautifully while using Win 7, but when I switch to Win 8... the actual Fn+F2 wireless switch has no effect whatsoever! So I know the machine is OK, the network is OK, but what could be making the machine act differently under Windows 8? Device manager and details say the driver is up to date.. What do I look for next?? I don't think I'm going to be able to get a call through to Microsoft!!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to re-install Windows 7 -64bit after my hard drive had crashed, but I can seem to get the Wireless to work. I tried following the installation order as per the following link but I couldn't install the NSS/DSS as I could not find this download for my Vostro 3700. I also read somewhere that it is not needed for Windows 7, so I left it.
I installed the WLAN 1501 Half Mini-Card (4313bgn) (R270598) driver as this is the wireless card that I have and it installs. The problem I have is that the wireless software and windows says my wireless card's radio is disabled and that I need to switch the radio on using the switch on the laptop. This laptop has a physical switch and no matter if I turn it on or off.. the radio remains off. Even the wireless light above the keyboard does not switch on.The thing is, before the hard drive crashed, my wireless worked fine. Is it possible that the switch broke too, or am I missing some kind of driver or software for the wireless switch.
On DELL latitude 6410, when i try to enable the wireless radio...I get the below mesg

I tired using Fn F2 ...but it still remains disabled.
My laptop is an Optima Centoris v662 and i recently had Microsoft service pack 3 installed over windows vista. ever since i did, my wireless radio turned off and the switches (fn f10 and the seperate switch just above the keyboard) wont work. my wireless card is a intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945AGB but i dont think that is the problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have some unused 10G NIC's and want to see if there's a way to install them into a computer and turn that PC into a switch. I need to run Windows based software for driver support of the NIC's, such as Server 2012. This is a picture of what I am hoping to accomplish:
[PC1] -----10G------[PC2]------10G------< Hardware Switch >
| | | | |
1G 1G 1G 1G 1G
| | | | |
[PC3][PC4][PC5]......
As you can see in the simplified picture above, I have a real switch which has a single 10G link that is connected to PC2. I would like to add the 10G cards to PC2 so that I can create a "switch" of 10G ports on PC2 which I can then hook up other clients (such as PC1 in the above picture).
PC2 needs to provide network access and internet access to PC1 (and other PC's connected to PC2 - not pictured).
The rest of the clients on the network are connected to the regular gigabit ethernet ports of the hardware switch (including my router which is 192.168.1.1).
I looked into Windows Internet Sharing, but for that to work, I need to connect the router to PC2 above and for other considerations not described above, it is not physically possible for me to do that.
Is there software I can run on PC2 that will turn all the NIC ports of PC2 into a "switch"?
My wifi was working just fine this morning, then my 1 yr old pushed some keys when I turned away for a minute, now my wireless won't turn on. I have tried the F2 + Function key several times, I've rebooted and tried to search possible solutions. My other laptop is connected to my router just fine, so I am sure it is just a computer issue. I have an Inspirion 1750. Also, is there any indicator of wireless on this computer? I have to go into network to see if it is on, it seems there should be an easier way (my other computers have a wifi light).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had turned my computer on and I hadn't been on it in a week or 2 because for some reason my computers WiFi connector was not turning on in the back. Usually, if the wifi is turned on, there is a green light flashing in the back which tells me it is picking up or searching for a signal. And once I turned it on, it had started working again. So I played on it a bit and got off. But when I went to turn it on today, it wont pick up any signals. My router is working perfectly fine since I'm typing this on my iPad.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days my laptop's connect has been really spiky and constantly D/Cs. So I turn on my other laptop to check and its connect works. Then I check my current laptop and the connection works now too. Long story short, I found out that if I turn on my old laptop (also connected thro wireless) my current laptop is able to connect flawlessly. I tried it the other way around, turning off my current laptop and only using my old and it works so it must be a problem with my current laptop.
