Cisco :: 3845 Traffic Logs Set To Refresh Every 1 Second But Data Comes In 5 Seconds
Jun 28, 2011
when using SNMP on our cisco 3845 the traffic logs are set to refresh every 1 second but the data seems to come in 5 sec burst.so does not some a real time status of the interface throughput.
We've got a network consisting out of Cisco 3750 and 2960 units on which STP is enabled. We are trying to get a WAP200 working in this environment. Problem is that the WAP200 is sending out STP data every 2 seconds (checked with Wireshark) wich is causing mayhem on the network. The situation will not settle down to a stable situation.Question:Is there any way in which the STP traffic generated by the WAP200 can be disabled ?
I'm about to install a new E1 onto my 3845 as backup line for my data network. We usually use VWIC2 cards since our infrastructure covers EU and US sites. But this time, I ran out of stock and so did my supplier. I have a VWIC-1MFT-G703 card here but not sure if it would work. What is the difference compared to the regular VWIC-1MFT-E1 ?
I have a 3845 edge router connected to the Internet via four T1s and a HWIC-4T1/E1 card. We are adding two more T1s to the mix, and I have a VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card. Here are my questions:
1. Is it correct to state that the VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 can support data in addition to voice?
2. I can use the HWIC and VWIC cards together to utilize the 6 T1s together?
3. Do I just add the card, configure the new slot, and add it to the same channel group?
Below is the current config regarding the existing card HWIC:
My old trusty Linksys router started causing BSODs on my computer (!) by crashing the IP stack, so I bought the DIR-655. No more BSODs, throughput to the web went way up, so all that was a success. Then I tried to set it up to send syslog data to my computer, and it was totally useless. Want to see traffic logs, not debug messages. After a lot of discussion with level-3 tech support, it seems that this router cannot send syslog data to a syslog server that shows the incoming and outgoing traffic IPs for monitoring a network.
I have a cable modem internet connection and my cable modem is connected to an ASA 5505. The inside interface of the ASA has an IP address of 192.168.2.2 and is connected to a Linksys router's internet port which has an IP address of 192.168.2.1. The Linksys router then has a local area network of 192.168.1.0 and all my clients are on that network. Everything is working fine except in my ASA logs all the traffic shows up as the router's external address which is 192.168.2.1. I would like to see the 192.168.1.x address of the clients in the ASA firewall. I've tried making some changes to the Linksys router but that hasn't resolved it. Is there any changes I can make on the ASA to get this to work?
I have hooked up to the Cisco 2821 router a T1 on Serial and Cable Modem to GigEth0/1 and I want to split outbound traffic so that all regular users will use G0/1 interface for web traffic and the rest of the traffic stays with the T1. I am having an issue where the users on the network are not able to use the internet when using the following config:
! interface GigabitEthernet0/0.10 description Data encapsulation dot1Q 50
I would like to measure amount of data I have uploaded and downloaded on the internet since last router reboot. I see there is a STATISTICS under STATUS, which lists the packets, but how big is a packet? And can I just take the values under Receive and Transmit (row called Internet) and multiply with packet size?
How can I collect the data about the traffic on my Cisco 2960S? Have I use only the snmp? Any workaround for simulate a netflow? The IOS c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-1.SE2.bin.
I am trying to connect a Control network that can not have access to the Internet, or any other network for that matter, to my Admin network so that I can retrieve trend data about the plant that goes into a database. Right now the process is print information, hand jam into excel spreadsheet, print again, and hand jam into another excel spreadsheet on the other network. Reports are printed automatically once a day, but would like a simplified way of getting data from one network to the other without having to re-enter data several times. Current policies stipulate no USB drives connected to Control systems. Even if we could loosen that, personnel needed to transfer data is not available and going to each individual machine would take more time than current system. Now that background is laid, I have two 2911 ISR routers with EIGRP configured, each with a 4 port EHWIC card. The 3 L3 ports on the router are setup as follows: interface G0/1 to the internet, interface G0/2 to a wireless back haul, and interface G0/0 for IT network. I then have 3 VLANs setup on the EHWICs for our Admin network. We will move the IT network to a VLAN on the remaining EHWIC port and connect the two 2911's through the G0/0 interface. I am going to have one computer on my Administration network dedicated to receiving the information and have a program that will take that data and import it to a database. I need to allow only that computer to receive traffic from the Control network and I need no traffic to flow back into the Control network. In other words I will transmit data from the control network to the admin computer using one protocol (TFTP more than likely) and block any other traffic coming out of and going into the Control network.
I am monitoring my WRVS4400N with SNMP and create graphs by MRTG. Problem is that data about traffic are strange, very low. I have 50 MB line but max traffic shown on graphs is about 8000 bits per second. Also the "shape" of graph does not correspond with real traffic.
Is it at all possible to channel all/some data traffic through an established ipsec tunneled connection using the RVL200? I have successfully established an ipsec connection through RVL200 and RV042 routers and are able to connect to servers/computers behind it.Now I want to channel all or some traffic through the ipsec-tunnel for computers that reside on 192.168.1.0 subnet of RVL200 network.
I am trying to use the Advanced Routing option to add static routes but I am not 100% sure if I am configuring the routes correctly. To give an example of routing DNS requests for HOTMAIL.COM [65.55.72.183]: [code]For some reason this does not appear to work. I have also tried using the interface setting of WAN and tested - this also does not work.
in switch 2960s ( c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE5 ) , i want to marking the traffic between two hosts (Data replication), i choose to use " mac access-list" to classify my trafic before apply the policy marking . but did'nt work . c
! my mac ACL mac access-list extended test permit host 000a.1a41.aa52 host 000a.1a41.1bc2 ! class-map match-all test match access-group name test
I have 802.1x configured on a 3550 switch with ACS 5.1 acting as the AAA policy server.
My problem is this. When my computer boots up, ACS authenticates the machine to AD slapping me in a guest VLAN with limited access to the network. Once I login though, I reauthenticate to AD via ACS which then puts me into an employee VLAN but my IP address doesn't refresh automatically. I have to run ipconfig /renew to get my IP in the correct VLAN or write a logon script that does the same thing everytime I log in.
Is there anyway for this to be done automatically outside of writing a logon script?
After some time LMS stops to refresh network topology (not changing colors for devices which lost/found). However, if I restart topology services devices are refreshed.
Checked the processes. Everything is fine but there is a process named "1018". But I did not found any job with this number.
Is there any physical or technical diferrences between PWR-3845 AC/2 and PWR-3845 AC? We are trying to order replacement parts and wondering if PWR-3845 AC is for one power supply and AC/2 means you get two with one order?
The various setup pages of the RV220W router have an auto-refresh interval. I can change the interval from the default 10 seconds to 60 seconds maximum.I cannot change the Dashboard to different than 10 seconds.Every time I try to work with these pages, they black out and refresh, stopping my work. How do I change the Dashboard auto refresh interval to 60 seconds? Can I change all the auto refresh intervals to 10 minutes?
I am working on a wlc 5508 in a lab environment doing snmp reporting & i was wondering if there is anyway to after the timing on how quick the snmp traps appear on the trap log page? I have looked through the gui but cant seem to find anything, so not too sure if there is a cli command, the traps come in very quickly on the nms way before they appear on the trap log page.

I've been having a problem with my wireless network connection. Whenever I try and hit the Repair function,it will get stuck on Renewing your IP address for a moment, then change to: Windows could not finishing repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Connecting to the wireless network. I have internet connection on this same computer.Another point to make is that when I click Repair and navigate to the Network Connections window, then hit F5 ( refresh the window ), the wireless connection will quickly refresh and connect normally without error.I won't have to open the Network Connections page and hit F5 anytime I need to repair the connection? Also, as of right now, it's still "Acquiring network address" even though I'm connecting and typing this message.
I have a customer that have trouble with the update of the position of a client. Even if the clients walks across the whole building, the client will stay at the same place for several minutes. Is there any way to tune the refresh rate? When I push the load button in the map, the clients position will refresh, or it did when I was on the site, now they just test with an application.
The setup: WiSM 7.0.220 WCS 7.0.220 MSE 7.0.220
They use the API for MSE to get the location information to the external application, and that will show the information on a cisco 7925 IP phone.know a way to increasing the refresh rate?
I just got an EA3500 and I guess I don't understand what "Refresh" does when viewing the DHCP client table under the "Status", "Local Network" tab of the web interface, either that or it's not working. If I have active wired and wireless clients and I power off the EA3500, wait a few minutes, then power it back on, the table is blank. If I hit "Refresh" I would expect it to re-populate the table with the connected clients. For whatever reason, it doesn't. I have to physically disconnect and reconnect the E-net cable, or power cycle the wireless client to get them to reappear in the table. Is something wrong with the router or its s/w
I cannot read ACS 5.3 logs from my WCS. I have the ACS server added to the WCS. Below is the message I'm getting:
Unable to connect to any ACS View Server.Failed to access the WSDL at: { URL}. It failed with: {URL}. Do I need to install any special module on the ACS to support this?
For a wile now our internet keeps cutting out usually lasting 1-2 seconds we don't get any internet. We have ADSL2+ with Internode.I have done speedtests/pingtests etc. and they are not very useful.
I recently got a computer, and it's all running fine, except for the internet. My internet connects through wireless to a box, I have no idea what you call it. Router? The house has three active laptops, all of which are working perfectly fine. This new computer, however, is a desktop, and I am trying to connect to my house's internet through a USB stick device that transmits the signal (D-link, model DWA-110). I know for a fact that this device works for two reasons. Firstly, I've used it in another laptop, and more strangely, it works on this new computer sometimes too. After about half an hour of random methods to make a connection stick, it might connect. And it lasts until the computer goes to standby, or is turned off. This is just random stuff through the network and sharing centre part of the control panel.Nothing ever works twice, and I haven't been able to replicate it for about a week. It successfully connects, and the connection is real because I can access the internet momentarily. But it always just disconnects again. I've tried it in every USB port, too.The signal strength is excellent, and when it connects it works great. It just almost always fails to.
I first noticed it in games, and decided to ping my router in CMD. I see the occasional "request timed out", and not sure how to fix it.My other computers connected to the network are working fine, and I've tried USB Wireless adapters in my laptop which work fine, which implies the problem lies with the inbuilt adapter itself.I've tried reformatting, and updating drivers, but to no avail.I thought maybe the adapter might just be faulty, but then I decided to test it on Linux. I pinged the router in the terminal and... it seemed to work fine. I thought maybe some background process in Windows might be doing something to cause the problem, so I started in safe mode (with networking)... still the problem remained.
first I couldn't even connect the thing to the internet, now every time I try to download something, like a youtube clip, patch for a game or even a tiny download the speed seems to crap out and then slow to absolutely nothing after just 2 or 3 seconds.. also sometimes I can't even connect to my router with 192.168.2.1, the page is just blank, half to disconnect router and reconnect.. Some days I can't even download a website without having to constantly refresh the page.for a youtube video if I just keep refreshing the page it downloads a part at a time till it gets the entire thing.. My internet speed is around 15 MB/s, before the download quits the speed is always fast..
we recently got a new wireless modem and its working fin with great download speeds and all.. but when i play warcraft online(not sure about other games, havent tried) i get this constant 2 second lag spike every 5 second
I do a lot of gaming, as does my fiance. We've gone through Time Warner and Suddenlink without problems that weren't fixable. Over the past 2 weeks with WOW! we noticed our games will stutter for a second about ever 10-15 seconds, sometimes less. I called them and told them the problem and they told me, after saying everything is good on their end, to get the port numbers for the games so the can add them to "something I stopped paying attention to after thinking this is BS".
I've never had to do this at any other ISP in any other location, so why do they need it? Is there something else it could be? My DL is showing up at 15.85 and UL is 1.11... 25 ping.
